I like to see how often a site updates new videos to their sites, I also like to see the date the older movies were added to the site. To me it's just nice to see how often the site adds movies, I will rarely join a site that is no longer updating videos unless the content is really good.

Despite videos taking up the bulk of my dedicated porn file space, I must say that I'm a photo guy at heart. So, assuming the site has photos, I'll gravitate to those first. Photos or Videos, I always traverse a site's terrain via the models. My entire collection is organized by site / production company first and model name second (preferably with a head shot to accompany the name) - so naturally it is by model name that I explore the site.

I answered 'by model', but the operative word in the question, is 'new'.
The first time I become a member, I see what's on offer from my favourite models, and browse around for the most beautiful models.
But after a short while I will just grab everything that is available on the site, movie and picture, and generally do this in date order, starting from the oldest up to the most recent, wanking myself stupid as I go.

Because I am limited when it comes to taste, eg. a pretty model leaves me absolutely cold if she is in sports gear, I go for niche. Usually straight for lingerie, followed by age. Teenies are out.

For me, it's models' photos, but then I immediately get selective. I first go for the softcore and not-too-fetishy material, generally by-passing g/g, b/g, and heavy dom getups (should there be any).
But then I'll go back over that stuff. You know, sometimes there's a nice b/g scene that I'd like in video, so I'll try at least to view the pics as a preview. And some g/g pics just might have something I like, too, though it's rare. And maybe that whips-and-leather crap will come off and things will get "natural." (Very rarely, though.)
Still, the only way to know for sure is to plod though the whole shehbang. It's why fast servers are so important!
But for me as well accurate dates on the material are really important. Good titles are, too. I get tired of having to make up titles for things.
And I've gotten so tired of "Stairway to Heaven" that I'll just rename it "Highway to Hell."

I picked other because my choice wasn't really mentioned. I like websites that offer research with the models name. This way I get to see her photo and videos. I find that the niche option is usually too unreliable.

What Pat362 said, that's me...but I answered "Model Videos" because that's what I'm interested in. Adding to my inventory of videos of my babes list.
If the new site has reruns of old stuff that I already have I will still download it to compare quality and content (some vids have been edited down) and keep the best one.
Then I'll check out the inventory of babes to see if there are any that are new to me that catch my interest.
I used to be into photo heavy sites, I guess because I've been doing this since 2001 when videos were lousy and short. But the video quality and quantity has exploded so dramatically I've lost interest in stills.
{RECOMMENDATION} The new version (ver. 9.4) of the VLC alternative to WMP offers a neat snapshot feature that is instantaneous so anyone can make photos from a video that are as good in quality as the video itself.
VLC is free at VideoLAN. It's got some great features like the snapshots, a fast aspect ratio correction, and a better operating console. The one negative is that, unlike WMP, you cannot adjust color and/or contrast.
[I'm repeating this recommendation on the Forum, so if it seems familiar, that may be why.

I'm probably 90% video to 10% photos, so the photo options aren't really important to me. I still give extra points to websites that offer it because if you have photos then you better have the search engive designed for them. I'll second your VLC recommendation. There are so many videos that only seem to play on VLC. Now that you mention it, I'm going to have to check which version of VLC I've
got.

I check everything... Photos, Previews, Price. If I see a lot of facials, I AM NOT JOINING!! If I see women that look like 40 and are supposed to be 19-years-old, I AM NOT JOINING!! If all the women are to be fucked by just one man, and there are not a of solo striptease galleries, I AM NOT JOINING!!
Believe me, there are a lot of websites that lie there asses off just to get you to join, THAT'S FUCKED UP!!!

Well, it seems that I have unwittingly unleashed the "video beast" in the popular imagination. Personally, I'm just not that into videos, at least the softcore ones, and we can take note that the leaning here is toward hardcore vids, which I do like but not as much as softcore pics.
So webmasters and site owners of softcore sites, please do not reduce your photo output! There are loyal fans for what you do.

It all depends on what you like. I'm a photo and hardcore guy so I go to the hardcore and then check the photos to see what be happin'. Basically, I work through a linear progression looking for what I most want to to download first. Having a system in place lets me organize my downloads better and lets me keep track of what I've downloaded to date.

I've developed a new system. I go to freeones or one of the TGP sites and try to find samples of my favorite models from the site that I am considering joining. I won't post the the link, but Tiava's TGP is really good for doing a search by model's name and you can even search the site's name to find the samples the site has on there. I've found these samples, usually dozens of them per site, to be better than the samples the sites have in their preview.
As far as the content goes, I usually look at the picture samples to see the "style" of colors they use. Getting picky, I know, but I really prefer the warm color sets.

I prefer niche. I like seeing the hardcore, group sex, solo videos etc.... I find what I want better that way. Model search is good also.
