Assuming the raffle's engine truly random, I see it as perfectly fair. To earn tickets you need to be writing reviews and actively participating in the Porn Users community - limiting users from winning multiple weeks in a row punishes the most active members.
If popular opinion dictates that people shouldn't win multiple weeks in a row, I think their tickets should roll over to the next week. That'll keep infrequent reviewers like myself from holding off on a review just to make sure the tickets it generates actually count. While I don't actively hunt for tickets, I'm sure as hell quite aware of them.

Money. It's got a very heavy "charge" to it, like sex, religion, and politics. Hence today's poll question, following up on recent forum discussions of same non-issue.
The way the raffle is set up now, everyone who contributes has a chance to win. Why mess with it, with what smells like an "affirmative action" plan for those who just aren't as lucky as perhaps they'd like to be? Why penalize the big winners and make them into victims of their own success?
"Easy for you to say, Drooler. You've won so much, and so often. Others should have a better chance."
My answer: What the hell are you saying?? They already have as much of a chance as I or anyone else does! The opportunity is completely equal at this point.
One more thing. You won't find me complaining even one iota about anyone else winning more than me or more consistently than me or with fewer points than me in a given week anywhere on this site. We have all had the same opportunity. I've never had any trouble recognizing that.

There shouldn't be a problem on this. What exactly means to deny a user their right to win as many times they can?
I agree they should win two times in a row. There is no need to ruin it for people who participate the most.

It's the luck of the draw! If the same person should win five times in a row then good for him. Once you attempt to control how many times people are allowed to win then the possibility of manipulating the system will creep in. Leave things alone!

I say unless noone else really enters, a person should be allowed to win once a month.

Its called a raffle. That means random and everyone has their tickets in for their chance. Simple as that to me. If someone gets lucky and wins 6 weeks in a row, good on them.

Just like everyone said why mess with a system that works, as long as the drawings are picked randomly why mess with it.

I didn't join PU to win anything, but to write and read reviews of porn sites. I'm happy that there is a possibility to win something, but I'm even happier everytime I read a bad review for a site
I was thinking of joining. I consider that I've all ready won something by not having wasted my hard earned cash.

I agree with pat362. The raffle is a bonus, not the objective. If it's handled fairly, then there should be no "affirmative action" added to the process.
This site has made me and, no doubt many others, more money through the great reviews by people like me that steer me away from sites that are not up to their hype.

For the record ...
There are no current plans to change the way the raffle works. Though oddly, before we launched it we did consider not allowing wins for consecutive weeks.
No, the main reason for this poll question was to allow users to "discover" that it's fair for those who participate to have an equal chance at winning. Glad to see that the a large majority agree with us on this one.

I agree with the instrumental purpose of the poll question. Seems that some kind of "closure" has been needed on the matter. Also glad that a strong majority agree.
There are already enough restrictions built in to the raffle system to stem explotation, and no system is ever going to be "perfect" (i.e., please everyone).

I believe that raffle prizes winnings must be balanced.

Roseman, maybe you could be more specific. What do you mean by "balanced"?
I ask because I recall there's been times when you've had winning tickets two and even three weeks in a row and yet I don't recall any complaints about the system then.
So again, maybe if you could just exaplain what you think would be an ideal system, that would help me understand.

I'm quite satisfied, if at the end of the day, I've steered only one person toward a great site or away from an awful one.
P.S: I would still like to win at the raffle.

I don't enter the raffles, but I think that users should at least not be able to win more than one week in a row. This would prevent users who post the more than the average user (power users) from dominating the raffle and would give everyone a bit more of a level playing field than those with max tickets (who would, statistically, win more often).
SELECT user_id FROM raffle_entries WHERE user_id != (SELECT user_id FROM raffle_winners ORDER BY winning_date DESC LIMIT 1) ORDER BY RAND();

Personally, I think that it is unfair for new or even old users when a specific user wins money in a row, that's what I meant.
I don't remember winning tickets two or even three weeks in a row as you mentioned plus as you know I don't even care about the money, I am just saying my opinion and just trying to make this community become bigger.

You win, You win. You have no chance of peeping into the jar to tweek the contest, so all is fair... Unless "THE WRATH OF KHAN" has something against you, then you might be in a little trouble. But KHAN isn't like that anyway. He is a professional Ex-Pornstar.
HI YA KHAN!!!! :D
Anyway, I am not really in this website for The money. I don't even know how to use The e-Gold... It's just sitting there!! Everyone knows my mission... TO CONVERT PORN BACK TO "FUCKING NORMAL!!!"
