I tend to agree with this and your previous comment. I dunno what is happening with this network at the moment. I only joined the network to have a nosey at the HD vids after being a member without download probs before there was any HD on the sites. I am going to have to give up on the HD movies here, because it is more beneficial to use my download time elsewhere at much faster speeds.
For me ZTOD is having the same problems as well. Failed downloads and slow download speed. Both the 1080 and 720 quality MP4 files take forever, downloading 4 at once and each file is about 100kb/s is quite pathetic. The only files which download without problems and better speed are the lower quality avi and wmv.
Maybe they have bitten off more than they can chew at the moment with the HD vids. Its a shame because the only main downers of this site I can see is the overall download speed of the big vids and the infrequent updates.

I had a feeling I wasn't the only one experiencing issues.
That's a really good point about the network biting off more than they can chew. I'm not very educated on bandwidth usage, servers and whatever else it takes to run a functioning site, but it is becoming increasingly clear that they don't have it.
At this point I would designate this site as under construction and to avoid signing up.
Sorry to see your profile as disabled, that's a little odd.

You might try asking Customer Service at ZTOD if you're experiencing problems with that site as well. I never received any responses to any inquiries I made to ThirdMovies, but ZTOD was responsive - not warm & fuzzy, by any means, but responsive.

I have given up on the 1080 DLs b/c of time and playback problems but the 720 mp4s are fine both on DL speed and playback and the quality is excellant.

Good point. I was only submitting my complaints via the Third movies site. I did finally get a reply, but it certainly wasn't helpful as I was only asked to clarify my issue. So I'll continue to wait.

Yeah, the 1080p files never played smooth for me, plus they were enormous (between 1-2gb) hogging alot of hard drive space. When I was able to DL smoothly I was sticking with the 720 mp4's.
I'm guessing you aren't having any issues downloading? My browser still freezes up every time I try to DL a file. I'm trying to figure out if the problem is at my end or theirs.

I was fine with the DLs yesterday; I haven't tried today. If you are still having trouble I can try one.

Hey thanks, I am still having issues. I get an error message telling me the file could not be downloaded and to contact the server administrator. The trouble seems to be with the ThirdMovies site more so than Ztod. Let me know how it's working for you when you get a chance. I'm beginning to think I'm an isolated case.

Hello,
we had some problems over the week end:
- files over 2gigs were not downloadable entirely (we were hitting the server limit, files over 2gigs were not supported)
- some servers got overloadeded
- resume stopped working for some reason (not 100% sure why)
We fixed all of these issues this morning, we tested everything and it's good now. Dont hesitate to contact me at clement AT ztod dot. com if you notice anything else, we'll fix it right away.
Also, we keep adding a lot of old movies in HD right now, we have about 20-30 full DVDs to add :)
Sorry again for the inconvenience and thanks again for your feedback, we appreciate it a lot!

Well, thanks for the reply. Things are working better but I'm not convinced everything is back to normal. HD downloads are not working with my DL manager, meaning that DL speeds take about five times longer.
I'm not a computer whiz nor do I have any clue as to how to run a website, but things like servers getting overloaded seem like a common enough technical problem that shouldn't disable a site for more than 6-12 hours let alone six days.
I think this is a great site that's way ahead of the curve in terms of quality, but the last five or six days seem to be an indication that server capacity is not ready to support these large files. Maybe hold off on converting those old movies to Hi-def until you are sure the servers can support it.
Again the hi-definition is amazing, but it doesn't do any good if it takes 90-120 minutes to enjoy it.
