Lack of updates, quality of content, and amount of content (based on age of site) determine if I keep a membership.
One of my major dropping points: video. Quality should be at least full-screen TV quality at this point. Can't afford the bandwidth? Adopt P2P.

kman112 described all of the main factors that go into my decision, too.
And over the years, I've come to the conclusion that most sites aren't worth more than $5 per month, and many are worth even less. The few that satisfy everything in quantity, quality, and price get consideration for longer-term memberships at fairly low monthly rates.
To my tastes, only MetArt and FemJoy seem to do this well, but that's just me, mostly into softcore.
The other sites are put off for about 4-6 months at time, depending on how much they cost.
The question is about "what factors" influence our decision, but we can only choose one. Shouldn't it read "Which factor do you most consider ..."?
I choose "none of the above," but really it's most of the above.

I guess I'm jaded, but I love new stuff and keep looking for something a little better, a little different. I subscribe to one or two sites per month then cancel and go looking for something different. There are some sites I subscribe to, cancel, come back to in a few months, then cancel again (some have seen me as a member four or five times over the years).
Another issue is I hate recurring bills anyhow. I'm an older guy and would hate to drop over and leave my wife to find that the bills kept coming in and she had no idea of how to cancel them. I won't even sign up for magazines if they have a recurring feature that's hard to cancel. I find that CCBill and other such services are great for ease in cancelling after a few days (and you can continue to use the membership until it ends anyhow). I've become an expert in cancelling memberships and would be happy to offer advice to anyone who has a problem. If you print out or save your enrollment info in one place, it's very easy to cancel memberships on most sites.

Everyboy elses comments were right on. I'll just add. I can't see myself paying 30$ a month long term. I'd much rather come in see what's new download what I like, and cancel my rebill. Then a few months later repeat the process. I would not join sites that down allow or control quantity of downloads.

I think everyone else has nailed this one, but there is one site I continually subscribe to - videobox as there are 5 full DVD's added every day. Every other site is a download and burn excercise as quickly as possible - and I tire of most sites well before the 30 days is over. I am particular on the billing options too - CC bill is my preferred company as it is so easy to cancel - paycom is okay too but you need to give notice before your cancellation is accepted to avoid rebilling.

To me, it's a question of keeping my interest more than anything else. I like cam shows, so a site like Phil-Flash.com, which I rated extremely high, that has frequent HOT updates, adds bonus material to keep me glad that I'm a member and has lots of cam shows, which are events that you have to be there for to get the full effect, well I ain't leaving.
ALS Scans uses a different incentive - their vids are only available for 1-2 months, then they're gone for quite a long time, so since I love their vids I maintain my membership on an ongoing basis.
If a site gives me no special benefit to maintain membership on an ongoing basis, though, I'm more likely to leave and come back when the mood strikes me again.

Just a quick question: Why do we sound so formal and proper and we are inside a website talking about butts, boobs and babes?!!!!!

For me it's the updates too, plus if it's a site tied to a network I expect the network itself to grow a bit too.
And if the quality drops even a little I'm out usually.

For me to have joined the site in the first place, certain criteria has to have been met such as high quality video, hot content etc.
If the updates stopped or slowed to an unacceptable level, or the video quality (either in terms of resolution or erotic-ness) reduced, then I'd most likely cancel the rebill.

Though updates really should be my answer, if I have a technicle problem and can't view something, then there is no reason for mee to keep my membership active.

How deep I explored the site is my final reason why I stay or leave. If I found and downloaded from the site what I found erotic I generally move on. But a revisit is very much possible to see the updates as long as the time in between was resonable.
