Our connection is not limited, so the speed of 300k/s must been another issue, could you please try it again to see if the problem still occurs.
I don't know what images you're talking about exactly but when they are old they were probebably made with film and not digitally, a higher ISO is the reason for that grainy look.
Hopefully that has helped to clear some aspects of your review.
