Good to know! I actually wanted to sign up but forgot all about it.
Very friendly of the them to offer a full refund.
Still, too bad they didn't keep their word on the HD scenes. Wonder if they will offer an explanation on why they didn't come through on this. Or has this already been explained by them?

Well, the way it played out was that I wrote support about a week or so ago and suggested that it might be a good idea for them to change their announcement because it no longer seemed possible that they could keep their promise .. just let subscribers know that things had been delayed (they contracted out a batch remastering) and that the HD videos would be uploaded sometime during April.. This way subscribers who had looked forward to March would be reassured that all was not lost, and the answer I got was that I had no idea how the industry worked and that they would not panic about the delay because it was eminently possible for them to upload 90 DVDs even if it had to be on the last day of March.
I wrote back at the end of March, wondering where the promised change to the site and the HDs was, now that there were only hours left. Went to the site one more time to make sure they hadn't uploaded 80 some odd HD DVDs during the past few hours and found myself locked out.
When I got to my mail I noticed that they had granted me a full refund without my request. Actually I would have been willing to stick around and wait but I must have been a thorn in their side. And that's the story! :-)

Wow, quite the story! And such attitude from VideosZ...
Very nice of you not to bash the site on account of them canceling your subscription without your request.
But good to know they treat their customers this way.

That's the way I looked at it too, GR. As to the un-asked-for refund I did keep my reaction to it positive because I basically like the site very much (see my review) and did not want it to suffer a blow to its reputation because of one support person's attitude.

Not everyone would have reacted the same. So, kudos!
Still, the attitude in their response may have revealed their true colors. I'll be thinking twice before if I ever sign up with Videosz again as I'm very particular about customer care.

hey guys,
I apologize for the late answer on this. We were late releasing those HD dvds because of some encoding issues and we should have posted a news about this. We did release them and we now have over 450 DVDs in High Def (that's over 2,200 scenes).
We have a lot more coming and we're not stopping here, we love HD and we're working on getting as much HD as we possibly can!

Sorry, Clement, but you are factually wrong. I re-subscribed to your site for May but do not see any evidence that there was a flood of new HDs. I was going to write a comment to that effect today but why have it look as if I am persecuting your site. There have been many days during this month where there were no HD updates at all and the most HD updates on one day I saw during my current subscription was two!! Because your updates are not dated I could not get a correct amount but I would be willing to bet that there were no more 15 - 20 HD updates. A far cry from what was originally promised. And don't bother locking me out with a refund this time. I only have a day or so left on this subscription. I do like your site, just wish you were a bit more honest about those darn HD DVDs. You may have 450 HD DVDs now but how many did you have at the end of March, the end of April and now the end of this month?

Hey Messmer,
we added over 220 HD dvds since we promised to add 100. We're also adding the HD version of some old DVDs right now, so the count is going to get a lot higher. We just received a hard drive today with new HD dvds and we have over 400 to add on the site. We were late the first time, I agree and I apologize but we're not stopping here and we're going to keep adding as much HD as we can - I personally love it :)
PS: you can see the release date for each DVD at the top:

I am truly confused, Clement. Are you talking about scenes or DVDs? If I had seen 1 HD DVD update a day during May (which I didn't) that would make it 30 DVDs only (not counting tomorrow's update). There were a couple of days where you published more than one HD but there were also plenty of days where you published none. Even when one includes April, your number of 220 HD DVDs added can't be right?? Sorry, I truly don't want to be argumentative but I simply don't see what you seem to see, unless you are talking about not yet published DVDs. I truly have had nothing but good will toward your site and am in no way attempting to belittle what you are doing. I simply can't get my head around those figures you provide since I was a subscriber all throughout May. Sincerely, m.

Sorry, it's 220 HD DVDs since January 2012 and we also added the HD version of a few old DVDs that were already released. We released 29 HD DVDs in May exactly, and like I said, we're planning on adding a lot more :)
