I really like to use download managers to stack all of my downloads for times when I am asleep. Most sites allow the use of DL managers. Then again, I usually avoid sites that have download limits, so there might be some connection between sites with DL limits and their use of DL managers.
I also try to post in all of my reviews information about my success (or lack thereof) with my DL manager.

I have had less than optimal luck with download managers (probably what the call centers call Pebcak (problem exists between chair and keyboard)), so I would like to hear suggestions from members regarding download managers and their utilization.

I put my vote on: "They work well on most sites"
That has been my experience, anyway - and I enjoy using my download manager (IDM).
But I have had one or two problems with sites: Latest with Thainee (and 3 bonus sites). I got blocked off the site. And the webmaster responded to my block-off that it was because of my IDM that apperently took gigabytes. Never understood that - but for most sites it's a good tool. And the owners/webmaster of the sites should take download-managers for granted - it's the thing to use.

It would be great if the reviews could also indicated if a site supports Download Managers and if so, which programs work on the site.
I really am not interested in a site that doesn't support a DL Manager. If it is not supported, a site better have the best content available!

Devilsfilm and affiliated sites have problems with most DL managers, though Firefox with the Down Them All extension works okay except for whiteghetto.com

For some reason, the first two responses seem synonymous with one another. Having them work well in MOST sites is the same has having problems with a FEW and having problems with just a FEW means they work well with MOST, don't you think?
Anyway, I would say one of the first two. :)

I only use a pretty basic DL manager when I want to download a bunch of small files. I've had some technical issues using a manager with some sites, like Bangbros, but I'm not sure if that's intentional on their part or - more likely - my lack of technical competence. Overall, I understand if sites want to discourage DL managers - God knows there are a lot of site rips out there.

I don't think I've ever used any, so can't speak from experience. In my case downloads are fast enough for me, so why would I want to use one.

"DownloadThemAll" for Firefox works wonders - I recommend everybody try it :-) No password issues as it is integrated directly into Firefox so it by passes that issue, really important for sites with the Security Codes that screw up a lot of other managers.
