I'm a member here again and it struck me the other day how silly it is to give an Hungarian model an english name like Emily Jones or something like that! I guess they think we won't be able to relate to them or something.

So you know, there was a poll dealing with models having different names on different sites. You may want to look back through the past polls to catch it.

Hey Denner, two of the webmasters have replied to me complaining about the different names, both said that the models sign their name (I guess on a release) and whatever name they sign, they have to use. I think the best site for models names is Twistys, most people don't even realize this. If you go on Twistys and search for say Anetta Keys, even though her name is Aneta Smrhova on Twistys, it will still bring up Anetta Keys. If you search for Severine, it will bring up Eve Angel, which was Eve's old screenname. The best example is if you search for Henrietta or Diamond it will bring up Simony Diamond, as she has used about 7 or 8 names in her career. The worst I have seen is teen dreams, though I really like the site, their names are all confused and they will have something like 4 models with the same name.

Concerning the remark .... "... and whatever name they sign, they have to use. "
Just so you know, that's not correct. It may well be what some webmasters THINK is correct but I assure you, most know better. While the webmaster MUST record (and save) every name the model has ever worked under (any alias, maiden name, etc) she's given and every name he's used for her, there is no law that I'm aware of (.... and I've been working in the industry quite some time) that says a webmaster must use the models proper name. As I mentioned, the model will often suggest what "stage name" they want to be listed as.

Agreed. And without Hungarian names like Zsuzsanna and such, my hard drive would have even longer lists of Susanna's, making it even harder to keep track of who's who -- just to give one example.
Pier999 does this mudane "Playmate of the Month" kind of naming somewhat, and it's really silly. Marina/Euphrat is "Patty Gower." Zuzana Zeleznovova is "Sharon Star." Lucie Horinkova is "Victorie Kay." Of course, these are all Czech models, who can't always escape the confining forces of Anglicization, either.

Sorry but I forgot to add this. A good source for many of the names that our divine Euro beauties go by is www.eurobabeindex.com. I've used it many times when I just couldn't remember which name I'd filed a model under.

Well, there's an old proverb: the dog that walks around finds a bone. I've actually discovered a few sites by perusing eurobabeindex, and fewer still I've joined but some were satisfying.
And sometimes by looking up a specific model you'll find that she's made a "new" appearance on a particular site. It can be helpful when you've got one of those babes way under your skin.
Plus you get news. Bambi, that stunningly sensuous Hungarian creature with the fawning, trusting look in her eyes, has done a full-out hardcore scene, for instance. Wouldn't have known otherwise. (Credit MC Nudes for the "fawning, trusting look" idea.)

Thats a good bone, for sure. I am already speeding too much time there looking for other bones - don't have time for my paid sites....
This is like you say - look for your favorite models and find all the sites they are in - great way to search.
Thanks again for the very fine tip....

Hi,
I think the reason we tend to get the models' names right is because the great majority of our lovely Eastern European models start out with us and only go off to work for other sites after they've "made it" with us here at DDF.
The models always get to choose their own stagenames and it isn't compulsory to do so at all. Many of them will decide to change their names often during their careers, perhaps each time they move on to new pastures, when they start working in the US for instance, or often when they decide on a new image (get a breast-job etc., which we are not always too happy about).
I can understand it being difficult for some other sites to keep up and they often don't know the model's real name or what stagename she is currently using, and I'm sure they often pick the wrong one from the (possibly long) list. It's understandable I think. We're lucky in that we know their real name and very first stage name, which we generally stick to unless otherwise requestd by the model herself.
Anyway...I'm glad you all love the site - hope you like all the improvements and the new design! :)
Have fun!
Bela

p.s. I love eurobabesindex too, we use it a lot to search for new models who you guys request that we shoot with. It's a very useful reference tool. sportyone.com isn't bad either.

Thanks to Bela from DDF for the reply.
Yes, I know about the thing with the models who choose their stagenames and change it sometimes - and they have every right to do so. Here in little "ol' Denmark" our local models change names for "Page 3" and magazines, videos and so on.
For us fans it's of course a little confusing sometimes - but generally we keep up.
And yes, I like your new design, but most of all I think it's great that you have given the user twice as much as before - with 2 dayly/nightly updates - video and photos (as always).
Just ended my membership once again, but it ended with downloading the best video of Candy, Nikki and so on, I've ever seen. Wauw, that is great - with a lot of slow standing strip before the serious act. More of that sort, please.
1ByDay/1By Night is a sweel site - and I'll be commingen back again and again.
Best to you all and keep of the fine work for us customers.....

REPLY TO #5 - Khan :
Meant to reply to this earlier, sorry about that Khan. You can check my Xisty review, reply #6 where I got that information at. The only thing I had wondered and maybe you would know the answer on. Would it be possible that some of the models' names are copyrighted? Like Eve Angel for example, since she has her own site. Sophie Moone is another, Lora Craft and so on. Wouldn't they have to give a site permission to use the name like Eve Angel since it is copyrighted? I'm not real familiar with copyright laws, but I have noticed that most models who use several names have solo sites as well. Also Sandra Shine, she is probably the best example. On Twistys, some of her sets download as Judit, others download as Sandra Shine. But on the site she is listed as just Sandra. The other interesting part is have you noticed that most that use multiple names are European? I do know there are different copyright laws depending on the country. I also vaguely remember and you probably remember this to, back when Aria Giovanni was everyone's #1 model, another site came out with a similar built model named Aria, then they would put, (The Real) Aria or Aria (Pornstar) as her name. Since she did hardcore, it threw a lot of Aria Giovanni fans off so that we went and joined these sites thinking it was Aria Giovanni doing hardcore.
Thanks for correcting that. I was just passing along what I had heard from a webmaster on here.

Well, I certainly wasn't looking to delve into a legal discussion. I am not a lawyer. I was simply noting what I've learned from working in the industry.
As far as your question regarding copyrights?
IMO, doubtful it's a factor. While there *might* be some cases where a Trademark or Service-Mark could be an issue, in the case of the model's name, I doubt that's playing into it much (if ever). This would be especially true if the model had ever listed the name on a release given to someone else.
Going back to the general issue, the things to keep in mind are ...
1. Model's have different names on different sites.
You can like it or hate it but it's a fact of life. There are a myriad of reasons for this and that's not likely to change in the foreseeable future.
2. It's often the case that model's don't control their own content.
Again, you can like it or not but in most cases, when a model signs a model release and accepts money for her images, she loses (most if not all) control of how (and often where) the images are used. Limitations would be part of a contractual agreement (or conditions) set on the model's release.
Anyhoo ... that's about the best answer to your question I can offer.
