I don't know but I suspect that video resolution has a lot to do with that. Afterall the videos on You Tube are not in HD and they are for the most part of average quality.

You are correct, Pat. I've never been on this site but I do know that HD video on most sites I've been on streams somewhere in the area of 2000 kbps or better. On YouTube, you might get an occasional video that gets to half of that. Definitely more labor intensive for the CPU.

Ok, the main problem is the data loading process for the video, this takes additional 30-40% CPU-usage, when the video data is fully loaded, the video playing just takes 30% CPU-Usage. But other streaming sites don't have this problem.

I have no clue for you because I never look at that kind of data. I simply click on the file and wait until it's downloaded so CPU usage is not something that I track.
