jberryl69 (Disabled) I'm a bit confused by the question. If the author would like to elucidate a bit, maybe I could find an answer.

Well, there's really two reasons I posted this question.

First, and probably foremost, is the fact that, because we ask a lot of poll questions, many of them are repeats. So, every once in a while I like to try to come up with something we haven't asked before.

The 2nd reason was because, over a period of a week or so, I noticed that a lot of the tv show ads (both for shows and products) seemed to focus on sex or at least, sex appeal. I wondered if our users here thought that mainstream media might be getting overly saturated with this one subject.

Now, being as our users enjoy porn, I'd guess that they'd think "the more the merrier" when it comes to sex. But hey, you never know until you ask, right?

Bottom line, it's just a poll question. No real deep dark hidden meaning behind it.

GD Khan - I didn't have a hidden agenda with my question. I was wondering not why you posted the question but what you were referencing which you answered ...

"a lot of the tv show ads (both for shows and products) seemed to focus on sex or at least, sex appeal. I wondered if our users here thought that mainstream media might be getting overly saturated with this one subject."

That said I now have a basis for an answer. lol - I'm still undecided about a definitive answer.

Apparently our society hasn't had too much - sex sells. It is interesting that some think that mainstream tv shows are made to numb the masses which means that sex is pretty prevalent. Ever notice how the majority of murder victims are women on tv shows?

But on the other hand, I saw a tv piece regarding tweens who were looking (with their moms) for Halloween costumes at a local store and 95% of them had sexual overtones with plunging necklines and revealing lots of leg. So, for some it's too much.

It helps I guess that the US lives under the pressure of prudes who think that breast feeding in public is obscene but bombing the shit outta someone is top of the news. Go figure that warped thinking.

rearadmiral (0) I think if you're a guy it's impossible to overrate sex appeal.

pat362 (0) I don't think it is but it is over saturated to the point where most people are now numb to a lot of things they probably weren't a decade ago.

Cable TV opened a door and now every network is trying to walk through it and most fail miserably. It's one thing to want to add some sex appeal and even some softcore sex to a tv show but what I mosty see is rauch and slutty behavior and sadly that is not the right approach tv shows should take. I think the old expression: Less is more seems to be the most appropriate to the current situation with sex in society.

Thedebilman666 (Suspended) Seriously misunderstood the question. What I meant by that is the only reason Danica is in Sprint Cup is because of her looks, she didn't earn her seat like everyone else had to and that just isn't fair.
