Never had one where I lived and there's no need to now that we're in the golden age of online porn.

I said "yes" but only in the past tense. Started with the early days when I saw Deep Throat followed by many "sexploitation" flicks. Once VCRs entered our lives I found X rated theatres boring because you couldn't fast forward. Then they started dying off. Lately (last 10-15 years) the video stores have been dying off.
I suspect the proliferation of "gentlemens clubs" has essentially killed off whatever remains of porn movie theatres.

I went in the 1970's and 1980's before videotapes and the internet offered much better deals. Vice cops hiding in the theater to catch people doing "vice" stuff was a big turnoff. Remember poor Pee Wee Herman? A brilliant man whose career was totally ruined because he was masturbating in a theater. OMG!
Can you imagine someone watching porn and doing THAT? Thank Heaven for digital media and the internet.

My last visit to a porn theatre or adult bookstore with viewing rooms was before the Internet switched from an emphasis on national defense and academia to commerce, social media, and all the rest. Surely, those old sleaze parlors have gone the way of the post office and the record store.

I did once on a trip to Amsterdam back in the 1980s.

In pre-web days I actually drove 90 minutes to the closest, maybe twice a year for five, six years.
