After Porn Ends

There's been a fair amount of chat in the forum over the years about why porn stars do what they do and what happens when they leave the biz. Apparently there's a new documentary called "After Porn Ends" that interviews about a dozen porn stars including Asia Carrera, Amber Lynn and Tiffany Millions about the whole ride. I've not seen it so I can't offer a recommendation but apparently it's now available on i-tunes and will be out on dvd in a couple of weeks.

Here's a link if you're interested in reading more.

It's ironic and tragic that the performers, who are the most important people for making porn successful, bear the brunt of social stigma and reduced opportunity once their time is up.

I've always thought of Crissy Moran, who is in the documentary, as a model and not as a porn star even though I know she did do some hardcore. This got me to wondering how far the stigma goes for women who pose nude and play with toys but don't do sex on camera.

After reading about how one of them dissociated herself from the act during sex scenes, I remembered seeing a documentary in which Tera Patrick talked about how hard it is to get into doing it with someone you don't even know and have no feelings for. Of course, that should come as no surprise. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I seldom see anyone break out, even light porn or playboy has problems. I remember Jessica Hann, made several goes after Playboy to breakout and for many reasons the main was public acceptance she failed. I also think probably does not help when Pornstars hang out with Hollywood dregs like Charlie Sheen and people like that. Well then often they get viewed as party girl sluts and prime time has no room for that right now.
We have to remember it was only 40 years ago tv would not allow a " married couple " to sleep in the same bed, made me wonder how Lucy had a child as they never were in the same bed. I digress.
I at times like this morning have little sympathy for stars with bad reps, unlike other professions there is a solid choice to open your legs for a stranger and get paid for it. They can say no and then opt for other jobs before they get know as pornstars. I do feel bad that often they are delusional into thinking the industry cares about them. And they will be a star. There are less then 1% of all stars who make a million over the span of their careers. With the explosion of the internet, there are even less making more. It was reported last year, that an estimated 10-1 odds for every scene in porn for women. Meaning there are an estimated 10 famous females ready for any one scene. So breakout women are becoming rare as people like Jessica Jaymes Lisa Ann and other well knows are taking lower paying spots in between the big ones taking money from the new girls. The amount a male makes is in the 1000-1 range where males even well know may get as little as 700.00 for a 30 minute scene. New male may get 75-100 . This may of course vary some depending on the star. But people coming to porn to become well known, will end up well known for something they are unprepared for. And if they come to make it rich? Id say don't quit your day job until you get six figures.

It's tough, but we all do it.

I mean, you're a business owner, you need to hire someone to help your company become profitable. The general rule of hiring is the person must bring 5x the salary in value to the company. So someone with a $50k salary must be worth $250k to the business.

You have the choice to make - do you go hire the woman who spent her years after high-school studying college courses? Or the woman who spent her years after high-school being fucked in the ass twice a day every day? That is not a job skill, job experience, that generates revenue outside of porn.

It's not just those in porn targeted, similar issues happen with those who serve in the military, they spend 10+ years in service, then return to civilian life and suddenly those 10 years of training becoming an elite helicopter gunner, doesn't transfer over to a revenue stream in the civilian life.

On top of that, was alluded to above, to become a good pornstar, a girl needs to become experienced at faking her emotions. When you are a business owner, you have to have trust in your employees, and it is extremely difficult to trust someone who is very skilled at the art of deception.

Whatever. Let's look at more boobies

Nicely said the concept you discussed was a good one, I was just watching a before the scene with a very well know porn star. She was going over lines with the director and stunt cock. Well she had to get the " fuck me hard " in the right voice and tone. Was kinda funny listing to her. She was smokin hot until she opened her mouth and said her lines. As she decides on how to say " fuck me hard "
or " fuck me ........ hard " fuuuuuck me hard, or you get it and was many other lines I was laughing out loud. And then now reading your post you are dead on, by the way the scene she did later you could have no idea she had to figure out how to say all those sexy lines.

Geees Since 2007

That's why I never ... ever ... watch "Behind The Scenes" on DVDs. In the past I made the mistake of watching the odd documentary about the Porn industry on TV and it took me a long time to get the picture of what the "stars" and crew were doing, before the action started, out of my mind. Sure can ruin a good fantasy in a hurry. In the meantime I have returned to blissful ignorance and pretend that their moans and utterances are the real thing emanating from their money loving little hearts.

It's not over yet ... so how 'bout them PUey Awards?

Any chance we'll see 'em again before the world ends?

I think Wittyguy has left the building, Drooler. Which would be a real shame. Those awards were great even though I threw a temporary snit over one of the remarks at the time. Come back, Wittyguy, I promise never to do that again!

It is funny how when a regular takes time away that we notice right off the contribution is not there.

I hope it is just a short break Since 2007

You shouldn't take the full hit or the heat for Witty's absence, messmer .....I had as much, if not more cause for the course of action he's seemingly taken.
As a PU newbie, getting blindsided by this guy's parade of raw insults, and me, not one to cotton being sucker-punched in this kind of way without rebounding; I did just that.
I posted and got my licks in and retreated to my corner.
Whether my brand of recourse unexpectedly got witty on the ropes, I don't know....... But:
The next thing I knew I had become a pariah in the eyes of a disturbing number of my fellow members, the chilling remnants of which still persist to this day.
However ....
I've gone beyond the call with witty in an attempt to put all this behind us and get on with the business of bringing back this excitingly popular, annual event.
One only has to go back and peruse the posts back then to see that I tried to impress on him this great and rare talent he has, and the entertainment value he's bringing to PU and the many eagerly awaiting members who're looking forward to the annual awards arrival.

I appeal to witty, for the sake of his many forum fans and admirers here, to give them back what has been an all-important PU fixture.
I trust he'll agree his many friends here who're still clinging to the hope for this years event shouldn't suffer because of a mere couple of dissenters.
