Absentee webmasters Why are do you think some webmasters (I'm sure not the ones here) are so difficult to reach? Don't they know it is bad for business? I recently joined one site, european-femdom.com, and here was my experience. I initially tried to join several months ago. On the page to join you are supposed to select your language and then click the "Go" button. This didn't do anything, so I emailed the webmaster. Of course, no reply, so I assumed the site was dead. I have a thing now for British sites, I'm trying to get what I can while I can, before censorship gets too crazy over there. It has become a bit of an obsession, so I returned to the site to see if I was missing anything. It turns out, there is a link that says "Credit Card" in exactly the same font and format as regular text, which you have to click on to join. You would never think this is a link unless you hopelessly tried clicking on it. So I joined, and found that most of their content was still up, almost 300 videos. There were about 10 links to videos that did not work. And if you click on a link to view a video, you are greeted with an error. You can only download them. So in this case, I get the story, this is probably a site where the owner is done putting in any effort and just wants to collect revenue. But come on! Their traffic is tanking, probably because most people think they are actually dead! I just joined another very esoteric UK site - ukdiapergirls.com. Yes, I'm into the peeing fetish, and I like to see adult girls pee in diapers. Even for their members, they do not even provide any contact information for the webmaster or business in general. They just say to contact the payment processor for membership issues. Why would a site be so aloof to their members? I can understand getting lazy and not checking your email, but not even creating a way for your members to contact you? In no other area of e-business would this fly. What do you guys think? Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off.

Not saying this is the the case. But many online businesses spend more time selling items then customer service. The most successful consumer businesses in the world are masters at consumers happiness. In a word...........WALMART. Love em or not they are 100% targeted on the happiness and pleasure of the consumer. Their return policy is near hassle free. Even if the eat it they still try and make you happy. They put their bottom line on the supplier not the consumer and is why they are sucessful. As some know I do business and security consulting and Walmart regardless of your views is about the consumer, or better said making it appear its about the consumer. Online businesses thing two dimensional they always have. Facebook and alike do not think this was as are successful. Knowing how to run MYSQL and sever does not make you good at business. The misconception is internet business owners think that true and try and do things themselves oblivious to the market from a consumers point of view and is why you feel ignored, its not unusual for online businesses to be blind. Welcome to our world, Lpee. We've been battling this issue since the inception of pay-porn. Relating to your inquiry .....I don't think webmasters are necessarily lazy, but I do think the offenders about whom you speak are patrons of classic greed. Lots an' lots of "GREED"

Speaking as a webmaster, I prefer to use the members' forum (on my site) to communicate with members. I find about 1 in 3 e-mails I send to members (in reply to their queries/suggestions) get blocked by their e-mail provider. Some I have been able to reach by using other e-mail accounts, but some I find I am completely unable to contact - leaving them with the impression that I don't care. Very annoying. If their e-mail provider sends me a message saying that the e-mail was blocked I can use other accounts, but often they don't notify me so I don't know whether the customer got it or not.
