ArcLight Cinemas’ theater and Pacific Theaters will close permanently Lincoln Park, Old Town ArcLight Movie Theater In Lincoln Park Won’t Reopen, Company Announces The Clybourn Avenue theater, which shut its doors in March 2020, will remain permanently closed due to financial loss from the pandemic. Jake Wittich 11:43 AM CDT on Apr 13, 2021 Facebook/ArcLight Cinemas Chicago LINCOLN PARK — ArcLight Cinemas’ theater in Lincoln Park, which has been closed since March 2020 due to the pandemic, won’t reopen. Pacific Theatres, the parent company for ArcLight Cinemas, announced late Monday on its website that its theaters will close permanently. This includes the Lincoln Park theater at 1500 N. Clybourn Ave. and another theater in suburban Glenview. “This was not the outcome anyone wanted, but despite a huge effort that exhausted all potential options, the company does not have a viable way forward,” company officials said in a statement. Although other theaters reopened their doors under coronavirus-related capacity limits, ArcLight theaters never reopened since closing in March 2020. The theater chain also operates six theaters in Los Angeles, as well as theaters in Boston, San Diego and Washington, D.C. that will also remain closed. “To our guests and members of the film industry who have made going to the movies such a magical experience over the years: our deepest thanks,” the company stated. “It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve you. “ | |
