I realize that a lot can factor in to your consideration, but generally how long between when you download the last byte you want from a site until you’re pulling out your credit card again?

For me, I try not to overdo it, but I usually have a new site in mind as I’m wrapping up the current one. Most times I’ll try to hold off for a couple of weeks and spend some quality time with what I just downloaded, but admittedly, I’m as successful at this as the times growing up as a Catholic kid that I tried to give up porn for Lent. Usually with an hour or two of Mass on Ash Wednesday I’d be climbing the walls and have to dig out my collection of Hustler and Penthouse magazines. For the forty days of Lent, I don’t think I ever held out from porn for more than forty minutes. What I’m saying, I guess, is that with porn I don’t have a lot of willpower so I usually take a new membership pretty quickly after I’m done with the current one.

Anyone more impulsive or more selective than that?

When I looked at "dirty" magazines, my magazine of choice was Playboy.
I would occasionally look at Penthouse.
I think I only saw 2 or 3 issues of Hustler. I thought Playboy and Penthouse had much more class.

So I guess I was far more selective than you, back in the days when I used to read those magazines. And I did read them. The main interest was the pictures, but I read the articles, the interviews, the reviews, and the stories as well.

As far as a wait interval between different paysite subscriptions, I don't usually have one. I'm normally subscribed to one or more sites all the time.

I'm more focused on quality content than on quality time. When I come across some porn content (photoset or video) that I really like, I am pleased. But there have been stretches of time when I found little or no material that I thought was really outstanding or enjoyable. Sort of like eating meals at McDonald's or Burger King. Which I don't really enjoy. Or trying a meal at Jack in the Box, which I normally avoid, because I just don't like the taste of their food.

Well, with my preferences being 'niche', once I find a site I like I usually stay a member for a fair time.

If I am not enjoying the updates I will probably cancel for a time.

I quite often return to the same sites though.

Since I have not only my niche but my favorite performers, I usually skip around once a month and download a crap load (if it's there) off a site. Which of course means I have to weed out. The perfect scenario would be to find 12 sites (or six at a minimum) to cycle through.

Price makes a difference - I might have an interest in a set of sites but if they want to charge me more on the front end then less as time goes on, I'm more than likely not going to do business with them.

My current site is Evil Angel, which I should go ahead and review I guess but since I don't have anything lined up at the moment for this month I might just hold onto it at a cost of less than 10 bucks.

But we'll see. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.

I belong to one or two sites that I keep on a continued basis.
Skin video has been with me for ten years, providing a wealth of content from which could easily be found in most of the sites listed in TBP.
I do keep my eye peeled though, and when something from another site looks good, I then give some serious thought to joining. I'd estimate going through about four sites a year.

I've spent huge amounts of effort trying to get members to maintain continuous memberships instead of buying occasional single months. Initially offering lots of features which could not be enjoyed properly offline. Then I found that having a considerable disparity between the first month and recurring months helps even more - so StripGameCentral.com's recurring membership is a mere fraction of the first month. Otherwise the loyal members who maintain recurring memberships end up paying more for the same content than those who signup 3-4 times a year. It wouldn't be fair on loyal members to let them suffer and it's certainly not good for the site.

I suspect this is why many sites find the pay-per-video/set model is very appealing as it gets around this problem completely.

I've just realised that the membership prices given on SGC's review here are badly out of date - I need to get that updated. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

I'd definitely consider staying around a decent site I liked if the pricing model took into account that usage in recurring months would likely be lower. And I agree that it also acts as a sort of reward for the loyal customers. There are several sites out there that I'd really like to stay a member of for recurring months but since I'd be looking at the same price for a handful of updates I just can't afford to do it no matter how much I'd like to support the company.

And I also should say that until now I've never visited your site, Strip Game Central. I'll definitely be taking a closer look at that because with the quick look I had it is certainly something I'm interested in, and I am on the hunt for something new.

Interesting topic, especially talking about the concept of "recurring memberships."

Once upon a time, I was young and stupid, and stayed on as a member to a couple of sites. One was the former Digital Dream Girls, back when they had a download limit of, as I recall, a whopping one gigabyte per day. That was about enough to get the new updates and maybe an old update or two, but then it was "wait until tomorrow" for more. The minute they killed the download limit, I downloaded everything from the archives, and was gone by the end of the month.

Very simply, if a site's content can be downloaded within one month, I'll download everything within that month -- often times within the first week -- then I'll cancel my account, and cruise through the rest of the month, downloading any updates. I just can't even begin to comprehend why anyone would hang onto a membership to such sites for more than a month -- heck, just come back a year later, and spend a week or two downloading the new stuff. Then "repeat yearly."

Part of my practice has to do with another issue that's on the board lately -- bandwidth caps. Mine is 250 gigs a month, and I usually try to do my best to get my money's worth. So, my "wait between subscriptions" certainly isn't a "wait" at all -- it's often a number of sites going on during any given month, as I try to make use of that bandwidth.

Anyway, only a "megasite" that'll take months to download years worth of content will get my continued membership -- until I get everything I want from it. Virtually every other site I've come across, I've been able to grab everything within one month.

Oddly enough, I just finished up about five different sites, and for the first time in virtually years, right now I don't have a membership to anything. I've probably downloaded about four terabytes over the past two years, and I tend to "download everything, then go through it all later." And I definitely could spend the next few years going through everything -- deleting the bad stuff, and pulling out the stuff I truly want to keep. I used to spend some kind of equivalent time downloading and going through what I've downloaded, but after the bandwidth cap started, I've definitely spent most of my time downloading.

So, I'm going through a bit of "reflection" right now. I've really gone through the sites that I've wanted to go through -- but of course, I've barely scratched the surface of all that's out there. Let me tell you something, though, webmasters -- if I call it quits now, it'll 100%, absolutely, positively be due to the utterly disgusting crap that is so common now -- ugly, filthy tattoos and body piercings everywhere, "all anal all the time" nonsense, implants, and on and on and on. Geez, are there no "clean" young girls on the planet anymore? Actually, there are -- that's what I've just finished downloading. But they were small sites I just stumbled upon -- absolutely nothing that you see getting a high rating in the Best Porn ratings.

Oh, finally, a little jab: I really don't like "girl on girl." More than one girl in a scene is "a waste of a good solo girl scene." I pass on the "more than one girl" updates every time, always will.

I have long term memberships to Brazzer and 21sextury. The first because I'm usually able to get some good updates per month to make it worth it. The other because the price gets cheaper with time so it's hard to pass up so many sites for 10$ amonth. I'm seriously considering adding teen mega world as well. I'll see how the updates go before making my final decision. Long live the Brown Coats.

I sign up for one or two sites a month. I have a circuit of sites I revisit once or twice annually and then I do some dabbling in sites I haven't tried before.

I almost always do single month subscriptions. I think I forgot to cancel a recurring membership once so I had two months in a row.
