Do you still like scripted porn scenes?

I always see such a divide in porn fans. I love a reality scene that builds up to the sex, and when it's well done and well-acted, it can be amazing. Of course sometimes you really just want to see the fucking, but I definitely think scripted scenes are still my fave. What are your thoughts?

A plot can give meaning to the sex.
Especially if it's well acted.
But many porn stars are not noted for their acting ability.
And many of the plots are stupid.
So what makes a great porn scene?
A combination of several factors:
An attractive model is nice.
A plot that is believable or not cringe-worthy.
Hot sex: always a plus.
Background music that doesn't get in the way.
Nice sets.
Excellent camera-work.
Excellent technical factors.
Good production values.
(I'm starting to repeat myself.)
But if you search through the many fine porn sites on the internet, you should be able to find a lot of content that is very worthwhile, and appeals to your tastes.

To me even a simple little plot is better than no plot at all but sadly so much of what passes for a plot these day is so short and underdeveloped that your average book blurb has more substance than them and more often than not skipping the first 2-3 minutes of most of those so called plot driven porn scene will completely negate whatever the producer had in mind when he/she first chose that plot. Long live the Brown Coats.

I think that sometimes I just want to get in and get out when I need to take care of business and don't have much time.

But I have to say I've enjoyed some scenes immensely over the years. One that I always remember was on the site called Pretty Dirty that involved a woman hiring a new nanny after her hubby cheated on her with the last one.

The potential candidate shows up dressed in all black with a giant cross around her neck carrying a bible. The interview with the wife ends up being bizarre because the potential nanny has crazy eyes the entire time and quotes various bible verses.

I don't even remember how she justifies the sins of the flesh that end up unfolding between the two women - even if they made for hot lesbians. It just was such an entertaining setup and the gal playing the nanny character was spellbindingly odd and intense.

In general, I do appreciate it when they put effort into a scene - especially when they make the storyline funny. I might eventually get impatient and skip to the sex the first time around. But if I rewatch it later, I often watch the whole thing.

For me personally - I much prefer my porn without an acted plot.

It's not that I don't like a build up to the sex - I'm all for a bit of Q&A, getting to know the performers, etc. But I think for me, as a lover of more amateur, or at least amateur style porn - if the build up to the scene involves acting/scenarios/etc, it makes me think the sex itself is an act too, and I end up questioning if the enjoyment is genuine or not.

Of course I'm not naive to the fact that the enjoyment of sex on camera can often be exaggerated for the purpose of the video, regardless of if they're putting on an act or not. And on the flip side of that, I'm sure just because performers are being asked to act before engaging in sex, it doesn't mean they're not enjoying the sex. Simply my personal preference

Just a wild guess on my part, but I think 95%+ of the female performers are putting on an act.

Once you see a few behind the scenes videos of how most porn is shot, whether a video or a photo set, you learn that porn is a job for the performers.
So how much real sexual pleasure they get during a shoot is questionable.

Just my opinion, of course.

I don't think this adds much to my opinion:
But I happened to be in Los Angeles when they were filming a scene with Brian Dennehy who was making a movie with James Woods.
The scene was Dennehy getting into a car.
You wouldn't believe how many takes it took.
How much time Dennehy spent waiting around for the cameras to roll.
This was around 1986, the movie was Best Seller.
I wasn't involved in the movie, as an extra.
I was just there to pick up someone not related to the movie.

But when actors speak about how much fun and enjoyment they have when making a movie, a lot of that is BS (bullshit).
That's my opinion, anyway.
I know some directors use very few shots, so the experience could be different on different videos and photo sets.
But basically porn stars are working a job. For money.
So they dress up the experience when promoting it.
Just like actors do.
Although I'm sure there are times when they make jokes and have fun on a set, but that would be a minor part of the time spent on a set.

^The reason why they say they loved working on the movie or TV show and why they do all those press tours is because it's written in their contract and not doing that would classify as breach of contract which in turn means that they would likely not get paid and likely have to pay a fine. Long live the Brown Coats.

I have a porn scene where the actress is filmed as she shows up for the shoot. She's asked what she's doing there, and she candidly just says, "I'm here to have sex with some mook." Then she asks what the director wants her to do. No rah-rah enthusiasm, just a kind of weary "let's get it going so I can get paid" attitude.

In the scene itself the same actress seems super eager to sleep with said "mook" and seems to enjoy the sex. But it was a revealing pre-shoot moment that shows making porn is work.

I've always figured that a porn actress books a gig with a company and probably has little idea what the shoot entails unless it's a specific niche site (blowjob, lesbian, bondage). The specifics of a shoot are probably discussed after she shows up for the scene. Never forget that porn performers are doing a job in front of several crew members and cameras. They have to think about how to place their bodies to get a good shot, appear to enjoy it, and all done with some person they have zero feelings for. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

Out there somewhere is a feature porn video where the story is about a porn producer. It was fun to watch as the makeup artist works to get one actress to look like a little school girl. pigtails and the pleated skirt with a larger sucker. It was a funny film.

I prefer a plot. I like a reason for the sex. There are feature videos where they stop the story and have sex for no reason. That ruins the whole purpose being a feature video. The sex should be part of the story. Warning Will Robinson

A plot that runs through the whole scene isn't necessary for me but I do like a scene set-up that builds some sexual heat or tension. A good example of this when there is a step-father/step-brother with a step-daughter/step-sister scene. Obviously these people shouldn't be fucking so it can be hot to see the tension build.

But I'm definitely not into porn that's completely plot based.
