Hilary Clinton, Public Enemy #1, has not yet been put into prison. What happened to the "Lock Her Up, Lock Her Up" chants by Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions? They promised to put Hilary Clinton in prison, where she belongs. But at last sightings, Hilary Clinton is still free and at large roaming the cities of our great nation. Is Hilary Clinton an undocumented illegal immigrant, who is hiding behind her husband's skirts? -------- -------- Rolling Stone September 17, 2018 12:43PM ET Hillary Clinton’s New Condemnation of Donald Trump Is Worth Reading “The administration’s malevolence may be constrained on some fronts — for now — by its incompetence” By Ryan Bort Hillary Clinton recently took a break from fundraising to pen an afterword for the paperback release of her 2017 bestseller What Happened. An adaptation of that afterword was published Sunday night by The Atlantic, and, as one might expect, it isn’t so kind to President Trump and the Republicans enabling him. In the essay, Clinton writes of a “democracy in crisis,” outlining the ways she believes the Trump administration is threatening America’s system of government while describing the best means for Americans to combat his authoritarian tendencies. “In the roughly 21 months since he took the oath of office, Trump has sunk far below the already-low bar he set for himself in his ugly campaign,” she writes before referencing the border crisis, the administration’s response to Hurricane Maria and Trump’s repeated denial of Russian influence in the 2016 election. “I don’t use the word crisis lightly,” she continues. “There are no tanks in the streets. The administration’s malevolence may be constrained on some fronts — for now — by its incompetence. But our democratic institutions and traditions are under siege. We need to do everything we can to fight back. There’s not a moment to lose.” The former senator, secretary of state and presidential candidate elaborated by dividing Trump’s assault on democracy into five categories: his disrespect for the rule of law, the threats on the legitimacy of elections, his war on truth and reason, his rampant corruption and the way he had undermined national unity. “No one likes to be torn apart in the press — I certainly don’t — but when you’re a public official, it comes with the job,” she writes of his war on truth. “You get criticized a lot. You learn to take it. You push back and make your case, but you don’t fight back by abusing your power or denigrating the entire enterprise of a free press.” The essay is peppered with references to the early stages of American history, with Clinton quoting Abraham Lincoln and a host of other national leaders. She writes about how John Adams defined a republic as “a government of laws, and not of men,” and that Trump violates the Founding Fathers belief that a leader who does not respect the law is a tyrant. When Thomas Jefferson lost to Adams in the contentious 1800 president election, Clinton notes, he preached unity, not division in his concession speech. A quarter century earlier, he wrote in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal and “endowed by their Creator with the same inalienable rights,” a belief to which Trump clearly does not subscribe. Clinton points out his denial of the death toll in Puerto Rico, his antipathy toward NFL players protesting police brutality and his “very fine people” comment regarding the white nationalists marching in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017. “None of this is a mark of authenticity or a refreshing break from political correctness,” she writes regarding Trump’s racist comments. “Hate speech isn’t ‘telling it like it is.’ It’s just hate.”

Politics 'You’re a repulsive human': Donald Trump Jr. receives harsh criticism after seemingly mocking Kavanaugh's sexual assault accuser on Instagram Yahoo Lifestyle Kerry Justich,Yahoo Lifestyle 53 minutes ago Donald Trump Jr., who apparently mocked Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser on Instagram before being harshly criticized. (Photo: Getty Images) The accusation of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh is becoming only more credible after Sen. Dianne Feinstein made the letter she received from the accuser public on Sunday, followed by the accuser herself coming forward. However, Donald Trump Jr. seems to think it’s all a big joke, according to a meme posted to his Instagram. CNN published a redacted version of the letter sent to Feinstein in late July, detailing Kavanaugh’s alleged attempted rape of his 15-year-old high school peer, Christine Blasey Ford, when Kavanaugh was 17. Then President Trump’s son shared his interpretation of the letter. Alongside a meme seemingly mocking the content of the letter, Trump Jr. wrote a caption insulting the Democratic senator for exposing it. He has since been called “a repulsive human” by an Instagram user commenting on his post. “Oh boy… the Dems and their usual nonsense games really have him on the ropes now,” Trump Jr. wrote. “Finestein [sic] had the letter in July and saved it for the eve of his vote… honorable as always.” Many have shared their harsh criticism of the father of five for posting laughing emoji and making a joke out of the serious situation. “This is absolutely abhorrent,” one Instagram user wrote. “I can only imagine what deficiencies in your own character and intelligence would contribute to your posting something like this.” This was followed by another who wrote, “You have daughters? Shame on you. You are disgusting.” Referring to the letter in the Trump post, which says “Will you be my girlfriend?” in a child’s handwriting, one Instagram user commented: “So you’ve learned to equate a person forcing another one in a bed, holding her down and trying to get her clothes off as a simple way for him to say he likes her?! You learned well from your dad.” Another Instagram user went so far as to write a longer comment about the more widespread impact that a post like this can make: “This isn’t a commentary on Kavenaugh [sic] and his accuser, this is a complete lack of empathy on behalf DJ Jr. Even worse it’s posted one photo after a post with his beautiful daughter. I understand your father/role model has worked his way through several wives, but as a father to a young woman I’d hoped you could at least understand how you’d feel if it were your daughter in this situation and find a way to at least show some compassion and restraint. This is a careless and unnecessarily caustic post from someone in such a fortunate public position.” One day later, the post remains on Trump Jr.’s Instagram page, without even an edit to the apparently blatant misspelling of Feinstein’s name. The jury’s out on whether Kavanaugh’s vote will still take place on Thursday, as some Democrats urge for it to be postponed.

Trump reveals that he is under the command of Russia. Trump orders the declassification of secret intelligence documents that expose US secrets. He is harming the entire US intelligence agencies by exposing their secrets to Russia and the rest of the world. Shame on Donald Trump, for bowing to Russia and sacrificing the secrets of the US. Shameful act of treason, by a sitting president. He should be impeached immediately, to save our country from the shame and corruption Trump has unleashed in the US. ----- ----- President Trump orders declassification of highly sensitive Russia investigation documents and texts New York Daily News Chris Sommerfeldt Sep 17th 2018 7:53PM President Trump on Monday ordered the declassification of a trove of records relating to the early days of the Russia investigation, including text messages from former FBI Director James Comey and the surveillance application that permitted the bureau to monitor ex-Trump campaign aide Carter Page. The extraordinary move, which the President said he ordered for “reasons of transparency,” comes in response to repeated calls for declassification from his congressional allies who claim, with scant evidence, that the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was plagued by an anti-Trump bias. In addition to the Page FISA warrant, Trump ordered the Director of National Intelligence to release, without any redaction, text messages relating to the Russia probe from Comey, ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, ex-FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page and senior Justice Department official Bruce Ohr. The move, which comes in the wake of a guilty plea from Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, is likely to inflame the President’s already strained relationship with his own U.S. intelligence community, as special counsel Robert Mueller continues to investigate the campaign for possible collusion with Moscow. Mueller’s investigation has already resulted in 35 indictments against Trump associates and Russians, including guilty pleas from Manafort, his former national security adviser Michael Flynn and ex-campaign advisers Rick Gates and George Papadopoulos. The President has repeatedly attacked the members of his intelligence community he targeted with Monday’s order, claiming they and Mueller are perpetuating a baseless “witch hunt.” Right-wing outlets and Trump allies in Congress have zeroed in on text messages exchanged between Strzok and Page as evidence of a sweeping anti-Trump bias within the ranks of the FBI and the intelligence community at large. However, a report from the Justice Department’s inspector general put those suspicions to bed, concluding there is no evidence suggesting the exchanges between Strzok and Page resulted in any concrete investigative decisions. Ohr, a longtime Justice Department investigator, has recently faced Trump’s ire over his ties to Fusion GPS, the firm that funded the dossier compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele. The dossier, which has not been verified by U.S. intelligence, alleges the Russian government has compromising information about Trump, including video tapes of his directing prostitutes to perform a lewd sex act in a Moscow hotel suite. by Taboola

If the Russians really do have secret sex tapes of Donald Trump and prostitutes, can they sell the tapes on the internet and make millions? Or would Donald Trump be willing to pay them off, with a different fixer than Michael Cohen, of course, since Cohen has flipped on the President and is making deals with the Mueller investigation. How much money will Donald Trump be forced to pay the Russians to keep the sex tapes secret? Or will Russia demand, and get, the right to build a Russian fort on US soil? How far is Trump willing to go in selling out America? That is the question the Republicans must face when the real facts are exposed.

Brett Kavanaugh denies he ever tried to rape a woman. But 200 women who attended the high school of Kavanaugh-accuser Christine Blasey Ford have signed a letter saying they believe Ford's accusations. So how can a man be confirmed for the Supreme Court, when so many women believe he tried to rape a young girl? Because the Senate is controlled by Republicans, the party that stands for supporting women as the bearers of our future children. As bearers, they deserve respect, but if they complain about getting raped, well, that's just a man doing a man's job, trying to have a good time. Senators, even female Senators, want to give candidates the benefit of the doubt. So if 200 women sign a petition saying a female was forced against her will in a sexual situation, so what? That's not evidence. What is evidence is that 60 other women signed a letter stating that Brett Kavanaugh is a really good guy. (That letter seems to ignore that Kavanaugh would sometimes get very drunk as a teenager, and try to pickup girls, because that's what teenage boys did back then. And if Kavanaugh got a little rough, so what, he was always respectful of women. So he couldn't have tried to rape a 15-year-old girl, because that's not the Kavanaugh we all know and respect and love. And Trump says Kavanaugh is a really swell guy, who would make a wonderful Supreme Court Justice. So there you have it. Vote for Kavanaugh, for Justice of the Supreme Court. Especially if Kavanaugh apologizes to Ford, saying that he didn't try to rape her, but was only fooling around, as boys do, and she took it the wrong way with all this complaining. If she was a man, he'd tell her to grow up and take responsiblilty for her own actions. Because she's trying to fuck him up, but he's too much a gentleman to fuck her back. (He'll let his fellow Republicans try to fuck her up with lies and smears and salacious questions of her moral character.) -------- -------- U.S. Julia Louis-Dreyfus Joins Over 200 High School Alumnae in Signing Letter Supporting Ford and Her Kavanaugh Allegations Time Alix Langone,Time 15 hours ago More than 200 women who attended Christine Blasey Ford’s high school, including actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus, have signed a letter saying they believe the California professor’s allegations that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her. Louis-Dreyfus tweeted Monday afternoon that she added her name to the letter, which was signed by alumnae of Holton-Arms, an all-girls college-prep school in Bethesda, Md. Louis-Dreyfus said she graduated from the private school in 1979. “We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story,” the letter reads. “It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to a lifetime seat on the nation’s highest court.” The letter says the women feel Ford’s story is “all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton. Many of us are survivors ourselves.” A Holton-Arms alumna, Sarah Burgess, class of 2005, told the Huffington Post that more than 200 women have signed the letter so far. Burgess said she added her name to the letter because she knows Ford’s story “will be scrutinized, and she will be accused of lying. However, I grew up hearing stories like hers, and believe her completely.” Ford has alleged that Kavanaugh, who attended the all-boys Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Md., attempted to rape her at a party more than 30 years ago, saying that he pinned her down and held his hand over her mouth while trying to remove her clothes. She originally made the accusations in a private letter to Sen. Diane Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, but ultimately went public with her story to The Washington Post on Sunday after her letter leaked. The head of Holton-Arms, Susanna A. Jones, released a statement on the school’s website Sunday night, writing, “In these cases, it is imperative that all voices are heard. As a school that empowers women to use their voices, we are proud of this alumna for using hers.” Both Ford and Kavanaugh will testify in a public hearing about the alleged incident on Monday, according to the New York Times.

Jack Black, the actor, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, Sep. 18, 2018. He had a few words about our president, Donald Trump. But Black held back on his true emotions: He called Trump a "Piece of S—". But he did not call Trump a smelly piece of S--. Only a piece of S--. ----- ----- Jack Black Calls Trump a ‘Piece of S—‘ at His Walk of Fame Ceremony Jack Black had a long list of thank you’s at the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday. The actor also had a few choice words for the president. “I love you all so much,” Black said in the closing sentiments of his acceptance speech. Before leaving the podium, he remarked: “Except for Donald Trump’s a piece of sh— ! Peace out, love you!” Earlier in the ceremony, friends of Black, including “School of Rock” director Richard Linklater and writer Mike White, each gave speeches sharing fond memories and testaments to the quality of his character. “He’s the most charitable sweetheart of a guy,” Linklater said. “But from what I know working with him, I just wanna say, he’s such a great guy to hang out with.” White continued on this point, highlighting Black’s healthy relationship to fame. “The bigger the legend you are, like, the human, the person, recedes,” White said. “What I think is the most impressive is that the legend that [people] love is incredibly close to the actual person that he is.” In Black’s own speech, he expressed how much it meant to him to be honored with a star. “I’ve wanted one of these things for so long. Since I was a kid I thought, ‘Oh man, if you get one of those stars on the sidewalk that means you’ve made it.’ And I feel like I’ve finally grasped that sweet brass ring,” Black said. “In the immortal words of Axl Rose, ‘Where do we go now?'” Black sang with the comedic affectation he’s famous for. To answer his own question, he joked about his imminent retirement. “I got the thing! Why continue?” He said. “I’ve made it.” Black assured the crowd that he would still do “Jumanji 2” and one more installment in the “Kung Fu Panda” series. “But seriously it’s time to pass the torch to the Uzi Verts and the Lil Peeps and… the Tommy and Sammy Blacks of the world,” he said, looking at his two sons. “Unless something really cool comes around.”

Christine Blasey Ford Calls On FBI To Investigate Kavanaugh Accusation Before Hearing HuffPost Antonia Blumberg,HuffPost 55 minutes ago The woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were high school students is calling for an FBI investigation into her claim before she testifies before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Christine Blasey Ford said Monday that she was willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, after coming forward on Sunday as the author of a confidential letter sent in late July to two members of Congress. That testimony was expected to take place next Monday. But on Tuesday, Blasey, a psychology professor in Northern California, said through her lawyers that an investigation should be “the first step” before she is put “on national television to relive this traumatic and harrowing incident.” Blasey’s lawyers released a letter to committee chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), CNN reported, calling for an investigation to “ensure the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner and that the committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decision.” Speaking with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Tuesday, attorney Lisa Banks reiterated that Blasey, her client, was “prepared to cooperate with the committee and with any law enforcement investigation.” Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) tweeted her support for Blasey’s decision on Tuesday, saying, “She should not be bullied into participating in a biased process.” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who was first to acknowledge the existence of a letter containing the allegations against Kavanaugh last week, also issued a statement of support for Blasey’s decision. “I agree with her 100 percent that the rushed process to hold a hearing on Monday has been unfair and is reminiscent of the treatment of Anita Hill,” Feinstein said in the statement, referencing the law professor’s 1991 allegations of sexual harassment against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. “I also agree that we need the facts before senators — not staff or lawyers — speak to witnesses. We should honor Dr. Blasey Ford’s wishes and delay this hearing.” Blasey alleges a drunken 17-year-old Kavanaugh attempted to remove her clothing at a gathering in suburban Maryland when they were both in high school. She says Kavanaugh covered her mouth to silence her when she attempted to scream and that she was able to escape after a friend of Kavanaugh’s jumped on top of both of them. Blasey sent a confidential letter to Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) and Feinstein after Kavanaugh’s nomination this summer to share her concerns about him. A number of lawmakers on both sides of the aisle said in the wake of the allegations that the Senate Judiciary Committee should delay its vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday. Grassley subsequently said Kavanaugh and Blasey would have the opportunity to publicly testify the following Monday. But Banks called that timeframe “premature.” Blasey “just came forward with these allegations 48 hours ago, and since that time she has been dealing with hate mail, harassment [and] death threats,” the professor’s attorney said. “So she’s been spending her time trying to figure out how to put her life back together, how to protect herself and her family.” Grassley’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on this article. This article has been updated to include details about Blasey’s accusations and the timeframe for the Senate hearings. This article originally appeared on HuffPost.

Trump says he doesn't think the FBI should investigate Kavanaugh. Isn't that what the FBI is supposed to do: investigate the backgrounds of nominees? If new information is revealed, the FBI is supposed to ignore it? Trump wants complete transparency. But he is saying he wants Kavanaugh and his accuser to speak, without involving the FBI. Why not use the FBI? Because the FBI is corrupt, and not to be trusted? Or because the FBI might interview potential witnesses, and find evidence that Kavanaugh got drunk one time at a party and tried to rape a girl? The latest is that Kavanaugh not only denies trying to rape this girl, he now denies he was at the party where the alleged rape happened. Can the truth be established, by listening to the two people speak? One says Kavanaugh tried to rape her. Kavanaugh says he never tried to rape her. But now Kavanaugh says he was never at the party. If the girl is able to remember some of the people at the party, the FBI or other law enforcement can get official testimony from those people if they remember Kavanaugh at the party. Then, if they remember Kavanaugh at the party, Kavanaugh can explain that either he had a lapse of memory, or that the memories of the witnesses is faulty, or some other reason, why people would testify that Kavanaugh was at a party, that he denies being at. But Trump, and Kavanaugh, are betting that they can push through the nomination, without a full investigation of the woman's complaint. Trump is an expert at denial. And at lies. Is Kavanaugh the same way? Kavanaugh probably doesn't lie as much as Trump. But Kavanaugh probably wouldn't recognize the truth if it struck him in the head. ----- ----- Trump says he doesn't think FBI should be involved in investigating Kavanaugh allegation By Alexander Mallin MARIAM KHAN Sep 18, 2018, 6:33 PM ET President Trump on Tuesday said "there shouldn't even be a little doubt" about his embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who has denied a sexual assault allegation and any concerns should be addressed through the confirmation process. “Hopefully the woman will come forward, state her case,” Trump said Tuesday during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon with Polish President Andrzej Duda. “He will state his case before representatives of the United States Senate. And then they will vote, they will look at his career, they will look at what she had to say from 36 years ago, and we will see what happens." Democrats have insisted that, before any public hearing with the nominee and his accuser, the FBI should look into an allegation made by professor Christine Blasey Ford, 51, that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both in high school decades ago in suburban Maryland. PHOTO: Brett Kavanaugh is sworn in before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, Sept. 4, 2018.J. Scott Applewhite/AP Brett Kavanaugh is sworn in before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, Sept. 4, 2018. The attorney for Mark Judge, who according to the Washington Post is described in the letter as being present during the incident, in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he does not remember Kavanaugh acting "in the manner Dr. Ford describes." He added that he has "no memory of this alleged incident" and that he does not "wish to speak publicly regarding the incidents described in Dr. Ford's letter." Democrats have also been writing to White House Counsel Don McGahn and to Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley to request the FBI re-open its investigation into Kavanaugh. And as he did earlier in the day, Trump said that while he didn't think the FBI should be involved, “is not what they do.” The FBI has not commented on Trump's contention that the agency does not want to get involved. According to sources familiar with the FBI's background investigation process, the allegation was passed on to the White House, but the agency would take no further action unless ordered to do so by the White House. (MORE: Senators united that Kavanaugh accuser should be heard; divided on how and where) Kavanaugh, who was back at the White House on Tuesday for the second day in a row, has repeatedly denied the alleged encounter ever happened. The president said he has not personally spoken with Kavanaugh since the allegation surfaced, saying “specifically I thought it would be a good thing not to.” Trump also defended Kavanaugh's reputation as a judge pointing out that his nominee has had multiple background checks throughout his career and called his history "impeccable." "I feel so badly for him that he is going through this," Trump said. (MORE: Outside groups dig in as allegation roils Kavanaugh nomination) Asked if he believes the allegation is political in nature, the president said earlier on Tuesday: “I don't want to say that. Maybe I will say that in a couple of days, but not now." Trump, however, attacked Democrats for “holding” onto the allegation, saying it was “a terrible thing that took place” when the story surfaced over the weekend. “It's a terrible thing that took place and it's frankly a terrible thing that this information was not given to us months ago when they got it,” Trump said. (MORE: The Note: Kavanaugh fight raises stakes for midterms) Meanwhile, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is pushing ahead with plans to hear testimony from Kavanaugh and Ford on Monday. This, despite the numerous calls from Democrats to slow down the process and allow the FBI to re-open its background investigation into Kavanaugh so that they can determine the facts of what happened to Ford in high school when she alleges Kavanaugh forced himself on her. "She's been asking for the opportunity to be heard and she's being given the opportunity to be heard on Monday," McConnell told reporters. "She could do it privately if she prefers or publicly if she prefers. Monday is her opportunity," he said. Grassley has said Ford has still not accepted his invitation to appear before the Judiciary Committee on Monday. However, McConnell and GOP leadership are forging ahead with the hearing. "There have been multiple investigations. Judge Kavanaugh has been through six investigations in the course of his lengthy public career. We want to give the accuser the opportunity to be heard and that opportunity will occur next Monday," McConnell reiterated. "I think that gives her ample opportunity to express her point of view and Judge Kavanaugh, of course, has been anxious for days to discuss the matter as well," McConnell said. Feinstein told ABC News on Tuesday that she has not yet heard from Kavanaugh's accuser, but suggested Republicans should be working harder to get in touch with her. "As I understand it she’s been emailed hopefully by now the majority who regretfully is not working with us on this will pick up the phone and call and talk with her, and I think that’s the appropriate thing to do," she said. ABC News' Jack Date, Trish Turner, and Benjamin Siegel contributed to this report.

Brett Kavanaugh, Supreme Court nominee: What happens at Georgetown Prep Stays at Georgetown Prep. ----------- ----------- Brett Kavanaugh In 2015: 'What Happens At Georgetown Prep Stays At Georgetown Prep' HuffPost Sebastian Murdock,HuffPost 4 hours ago Brett Kavanaugh, the president’s Supreme Court pick being accused of sexual assault when he was in high school, bragged about keeping tight-lipped about what he got up to while at his school. “We had a good saying that we’ve held firm to to this day, as the dean was reminding me before the talk,” Kavanaugh said during a 2015 speech at the Catholic University of America’s Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. “Which is what happens at Georgetown Prep stays at Georgetown Prep. That’s been a good thing for all of us.” It was while he was attending that high school, said Christine Blasey Ford — now a professor at Palo Alto University in California who goes by Christine Blasey professionally — that he tried to force himself on her when the two were teenagers. “I thought he might inadvertently kill me,” she told The Washington Post on Sunday. She said that she was 15 and the then-17-year-old Kavanaugh was drunk when he held her down, covering her mouth with his hand as he attempted to take off her clothes. Blasey said Kavanaugh and a friend of his, Mark Judge, turned up music to drown out her screams. Kavanaugh has flatly denied the claim, and he and Blasey could have a chance next week to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the alleged episode. As Mother Jones points out, a book by Judge mentions Kavanaugh and his apparent love of binge-drinking while at the school. And in an April 2014 speech to the Yale Law School Federalist Society, Kavanaugh relayed his drinking adventures with friends. Of course, many young people drink before they’re 21. But sexual aggression is not a rite of passage for boys, and the allegations against Kavanaugh are far more disturbing than simply a young person who drank alcohol during high school. Jesus Fucking Christ. An Air Force Memo estimates it would cost $13 billion for Trump's Space Force. Republicans vowed to balance the budget. The tax cut to the wealthy, passed under Trump, will cost an estimated $2 trillion. Yet Trump and his administration are cutting welfare benefits, housing benefits, any and all benefits to the poor and the middle class. The rape of America. By Trump. ------ ------ Trump's Space Force Would Cost $13 Billion In First 5 Years: Air Force Memo HuffPost Dominique Mosbergen,HuffPost 15 hours ago President Donald Trump listens to a question from a reporter during a meeting of the President's National Council of the American Worker in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, in Washington. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) President Donald Trump’s oft-touted “Space Force” — the proposed sixth branch of the U.S. military — would cost taxpayers nearly $13 billion in its first five years of operation, according to an internal Air Force memo. The Sept. 14 document, signed by Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, describes the proposed “Department of the Space Force” as “a lethality focused organization that will field space superiority capabilities,” Reuters reported. Space Force could have more than 13,000 employees, the Air Force estimated. The cost of the new military service would be about $3.3 billion in its first year, and $12.9 billion over five years, the memo said. The memo also revealed that the Defense Department and the intelligence community would likely undergo a mammoth reorganization if Space Force is approved, according to the Los Angeles Times. For one thing, the budget and mission of the Air Force, currently responsible for space, could be significantly curtailed. The Trump administration announced last month that it plans to launch Space Force by 2020. Congressional approval will first be required, however. “The President has clearly communicated his desire for a military department for space,” Wilson wrote in the new Air Force memo, per AP. “Strategic competition with Russia and China is the focus of our approach.” According to the memo, the plan would be to create a headquarters for the new Space Force by 2020 and have it fully operational by the following year. Trump tales: A short tale that teaches you to deny everything. Welcome to the world of Trump. ------- ------- U.S. Artist says he hung Putin portrait in Trump Hotel suite in D.C., where it remained until he retrieved it a month later Yahoo Lifestyle Hope Schreiber,Yahoo Lifestyle 7 hours ago A portrait of Vladimir Putin allegedly hung in a suite in Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. for a month, according to the artist, Brian Andrew Whiteley. (Photo: Brian Whiteley) A portrait of Vladimir Putin hung in Suite 435 at the Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C., according to the artist behind the scheme, Brian Whiteley. Possessing multiple photos of the hand-painted portrait of the Russian president, and receipts to the Trump International Hotel barring the name of an accomplice who wishes to remain anonymous, Whiteley claims that the painting hung for a solid month before he returned to retrieve it. However, according to the hotel’s director of sales and marketing, Patricia Tang, “It never happened.” Whiteley told Yahoo Lifestyle that he and his friend hung the portrait on Aug. 1 in their rented room of the hotel, which is located just minutes from the White House. Whiteley provided Yahoo with a photo of the receipt which shows a single night stay from July 31 to Aug. 1. The name of the individual who rented the room has been redacted per their request. A receipt showing a one-night stay that corroborates Brian Whiteley’s story. (Photo: Brian Whiteley) The portrait, which depicts Putin on a chair in front of the White House as storm clouds gather, was hanging over another painting in the room when Whiteley and his friend invited a group of intoxicated Trump supporters back to their room for a nightcap. One said, “Putin, f*** yeah,” according to the artist. Whiteley and his friend returned to the hotel a month later in early September and told staff that they had forgotten something. Accompanied by a bellhop, they returned to the room. “We saw that the piece was still there,” Whiteley told Yahoo Lifestyle. “I grabbed it off the wall; the bellhop sees that I’m taking it off the wall, and he calls security.” Whiteley explained to security that the painting was his artwork, by showing his ID and his signature on the back of the portrait. “After a 20-minute grill session, they looked over the room to see if we were trying to steal stuff from the hotel. Then the manager saw the piece and [had security] grab me under the arm and escort me out of the building.” The portrait of Putin which allegedly hung inside a room at Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C. (Photo: Brian Whiteley) “I put [the painting] there and I didn’t hear anything. I expected to hear some complaint, or some email from the hotel telling me I left something there, or anything. But it managed to stay there for that amount of time, and they always say that they’re at capacity. I don’t know if that’s true, but people had been staying in that room, and no one said anything,” Whiteley said. While it may seem that the cleaners on the hotel staff and guests are not very observant, Whiteley has another theory. Whiteley sent an email to Hyperallergic which reads, “…the guests are completely devoted to the President no matter what policy/authoritarian he embraces. As many have said, Trump has brought about a cult of authoritarianism where he can do no wrong no matter how blatant the transgression.” Previously, Whiteley created a tombstone that read “Trump, Donald J.” that he planted in Central Park on Easter Sunday, March 2016. The gravestone’s epitaph read “Made America Hate Again.” The NYPD removed it three hours later. Patricia Kang, the sales and marketing director at Trump International, did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s requests for comment.

Good Morning America Anita Hill urges Senate to 'push the pause button' on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh Good Morning America ALISA WIERSEMA,Good Morning America 16 minutes ago Anita Hill urges Senate to push the pause button' on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh (ABC News) Nearly three decades after Anita Hill testified about her own sexual harassment allegations against now-Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, she advised the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday to “push the pause button” on high court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Speaking exclusively on “Good Morning America,” Hill told ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos that she backs Christine Blasey Ford’s request for an FBI investigation into her allegation that an intoxicated Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a high school party 36 years ago, which he has vehemently denied. “Absolutely, it's the right move,” Hill said of Ford’s request. “The hearing questions need to have a frame and the investigation is the best frame for that. A neutral investigation, that can pull together the facts, create a record, so that the senators can draw on the information they receive to develop their question.” (MORE: Kavanaugh's accuser wants FBI investigation before testifying) PHOTO: Professor Anita Hill is sworn-in before testifying at the Senate Judiciary hearing on the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination. Miss Hill testified on her charges of alleged sexual harassment by Judge Thomas, Oct. 11, 1991. (Bettmann Archive/Getty Images ) If the purpose of the hearing is to get to the truth, an investigation is unavoidable, Hill said, though cautioning senators to proceed with the U.S. public in mind. “The American public really is expecting something more,” she told “GMA.” “The American public wants to know about what happened and they want to know that the Senate takes this seriously.” PHOTO: Brett Kavanaugh is sworn in before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, Sept. 4, 2018. (J. Scott Applewhite/AP) Hill, whose 1991 Senate testimony occurred five days after her allegations went public, reflected on her feeling as though the public hearing was meant to deter her from going forward with her testimony 27 years ago. Such sentiments seem to have resurfaced in how Republican Senators are approaching Ford’s allegation against Judge Kavanaugh, Hill said. “It occurs to me that two things are going on, that either they don't take this seriously, that they aren't concerned about this complaint as many Americans are, or that they just want to get it over. I'm not sure which is in play,” she said, adding, “Maybe they're not concerned or maybe they just don't know how to handle this kind of a situation.” (MORE: The Note: Uncertainties cloud Kavanaugh fight) PHOTO: Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas gestures, Sept. 10, 1991, during confirmation hearings before the US Senate Judiciary Committee, in Washington. (David Ake/AFP/Getty Images) Hill had accused Thomas of making unwanted advances and lewd remarks when they worked at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the 1980s, which he denied. While she did not offer direct advice to Ford, she urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to hold off on going forward with the hearing. “My advice is to push the pause button on this hearing, get the information together, bring in the experts and put together a hearing that is fair, that is impartial, that is not biased by politics or by myth and bring this information to the American public,” she said. ------------------ ------------------ HuffPost GOP Strategists Are Dreading A Hearing On Kavanaugh Assault Allegation HuffPost Kevin Robillard,HuffPost 13 hours ago Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and President Donald Trump share a handshake before the sexual assault allegation came out. (SAUL LOEB via Getty Images) WASHINGTON ― Republican strategists charged with keeping control of the House and Senate in the midterm elections are dreading the possibility of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in which the all-male GOP members of the panel question a woman alleging sexual assault. The hearing, which would feature testimony from both Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford, the psychology professor who has accused him of attempting to rape her when both of them were high school students, could take place next Monday. Republican lawmakers and conservative media figures, who have largely lined up in support of Kavanaugh, have already begun trying to poke holes in her story and question her credibility. “The problem is, Dr. Ford can’t remember when it was, where it was, or how it came to be,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the Senate majority whip and a member of the Judiciary Committee. “There are some gaps there that need to be filled.” “There’s some question whether she’s mixed up,” Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), another Judiciary Committee member, said this Monday. “I think there are lots of reasons not to believe it, but on the other hand, you can’t ignore and cast the issue aside.” Republicans fear that the spectacle of male senators aggressively questioning Blasey would alienate female voters, who already favor Democrats by a wide margin in polling. College-educated women are considered key to Democratic hopes of taking back the House. GOP operatives worry that a replay of the Anita Hill hearings ― when an all-male panel of senators aggressively questioned the integrity of another woman accusing a Supreme Court nominee of sexual misconduct ― could provide those voters in particular with yet another reason to support Democrats in November. One GOP strategist, granted anonymity to discuss his party’s position in this fracas, was blunt: “The optics could not be much worse. It’s not what we need right now.” “Let’s see,” a second Republican strategist wrote in an email. “Eleven old white guys questioning a woman about teenage sex, what could go wrong? Hopefully someone will suggest hiring a female prosecutor to handle the questioning, it’s really our only hope of coming out of this thing alive.” Indeed, Republicans on the Judiciary Committee are considering using female staffers to question Blasey. A CNN/SSRS poll conducted earlier this month found Democrats with an edge of 52 percent to 42 percent over Republicans on the generic ballot for Congress. That edge comes entirely from female voters, who back Democrats by a margin of 60 percent to 36 percent. Men support Republicans, 49 percent to 44 percent. The Hill hearings are credited, in part, with sparking the “Year of the Women” election back in 1992. This year, Democrats have recruited and nominated a record number of female House candidates, including in a number of states crucial to control of the Senate. A third GOP strategist was hopeful that any electoral damage could be limited to the House, where many battleground districts are filled with college-educated women. In crucial Senate states ― which are mostly in territory friendly to President Donald Trump ― the fight could actually help Republicans by drawing attention to the Supreme Court and firing up the party’s base, he argued. “The worst thing for House Republicans is a conversation about anything other than the economy,” the strategist said. “Even though House Republicans have less than zero to do with Supreme Court confirmations, they’re going to bear the brunt.” Others suggested that Trump has already throughly damaged the party’s brand with suburban women, so next Monday’s proposed hearing couldn’t do much additional damage. One strategist was hopeful the GOP could survive the hearing, provided senators avoided direct confrontations with Blasey and simply allowed her to testify. “I don’t think they have to question her at all,” the strategist said. “I don’t think there’s anything to gain by interrogating her like a criminal detective.” The strategist thought the committee’s Republican senators ― a roster including Cornyn, Hatch, Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Ted Cruz (Texas) and Chuck Grassley (Iowa) ― were likely to behave themselves. “If this was in the House, I’d have no confidence,” the strategist added. Cornyn appeared to share that sentiment about his colleagues. “No problem,” he said when reporters asked if he was confident the hearing wouldn’t go off the rails. Other senators seemed more eager to go after Blasey. “She’ll be challenged,” Graham said Tuesday night on Fox News. “You don’t have to be smart to know that there’s something going on here.” Igor Bobic contributed reporting. American greed and shame. Trump allows 3.4 million chickens and turkeys to drown. He also allows 5,500 hogs to drown. Trump, killer of innocent livestock, wants to bathe in their blood as he threatens to turn weapons of mass destruction on the illegal immigrants in the United States. With blood dripping from his entire body, Trump will go on national TV and urge his followers to eliminate all illegal aliens, in a frenzied attack on these scumbag men, women and children. The blood of the chickens and turkeys and hogs will be used to disguise and conceal the blood of the illegals. The only defense of a common citizen would be to drown Donald Trump in the sewage that is flooding North Carolina. North Carolina, my heart bleeds for you, in shame and horror, that you will become Donald Trump's final resting place. ---------- ---------- U.S. 3.4 million poultry, 5,500 hogs drowned in Florence flooding Associated Press MICHAEL BIESECKER,Associated Press 10 hours ago About 3.4 million chickens and turkeys and 5,500 hogs have been killed in flooding from Florence as rising North Carolina rivers swamped dozens of farm buildings where the animals were being raised for market, according to state officials. The N.C. Department of Agriculture issued the livestock mortality totals Tuesday, as major flooding is continuing after the slow-moving storm's drenching rains. Sixteen North Carolina rivers were at major flood stage Tuesday, with an additional three forecasted to peak by Thursday. The Department of Environmental Quality said the earthen dam at one hog lagoon in Duplin County had breached, spilling its contents. Another 25 of the pits containing animal feces and urine have either suffered structural damage, had wastewater levels go over their tops from heavy rains or had been swamped by floodwaters. Large mounds of manure are also typically stored at poultry farms. North Carolina is among the top states in the nation in producing pork and poultry, with about 9 million hogs at any given time and 819 million chickens and 34 million turkeys raised each year. The N.C. Pork Council, an industry trade group, said the livestock losses from the storm should be taken in the context. "Our farmers took extraordinary measures in advance of this storm, including moving thousands of animals out of harm's way as the hurricane approached," the group said in a statement issued Tuesday. "We believe deeply in our commitment to provide care for our animals amid these incredibly challenging circumstances." The industry lost about 2,800 hogs during flooding from Hurricane Matthew in 2016. Sanderson Farms, a major poultry producer in the state, said it lost about 1.7 million chickens after flooding at more than 60 of the independent farms that supply its poultry processing plants. The company said its facilities suffered no major damage, but supply disruptions and flooded roadways had caused shutdowns at some plants. In addition, about 30 farms near Lumberton have been isolated by flood waters, hampering the delivery of feed to animals. The lack of food could cause additional birds to die if access isn't restored quickly, the company said. Smithfield Foods, the world's largest pork producer, said its plants also suffered no significant damage and are operating at limited capacity. The company said it would ramp up production as roads become passable. An environmental threat is also posed by human waste as low-lying municipal sewage plants flood. On Sunday, the Cape Fear Public Utility Authority reported that more than 5 million gallons of partially treated sewage had spilled into the Cape Fear River after power failed at its treatment plant. The Environmental Protection Agency said Monday that 16 community water treatment facilities in North Carolina are unable to supply drinking water and that seven publicly owned sewage treatment works are non-operational due to the flooding. Duke Energy is continuing cleanup operations Tuesday following a weekend breach at a coal ash landfill at its L.V. Sutton Power Station near Wilmington. Duke spokeswoman Paige Sheehan said a full assessment of how much ash escaped from the waterlogged landfill is ongoing. The company initially estimated Saturday that about 2,000 cubic yards (1,530 cubic meters) of ash were displaced, enough to fill about 180 dump trucks. The coal-fired Sutton plant was retired in 2013 and replaced with a new facility that burns natural gas. The company has been excavating millions of tons of leftover ash from old pits there and removing the waste to a new lined landfill constructed on the property. The gray ash left behind when coal is burned contains toxic heavy metals, including arsenic, lead and mercury. Photos from the site provided to AP by Cape Fear River Watch, an environmental advocacy group, show cascades of gray-colored water spilling from at least two breaches at the landfill and flowing toward Sutton Lake, the plant's former cooling pond which is now used for public recreation, including fishing and boating. Sutton Lake drains into the Cape Fear River. Sheehan said Duke's assessment is that there was minimal chance any contaminants from the spill had reached the river. At a different power plant near Goldsboro, three old coal ash dumps capped with soil were inundated by the Neuse River. Duke said they had no indication those dumps at the H.F. Lee Power Plant were leaking ash into the river. Duke's handling of ash waste has faced intense scrutiny since a drainage pipe collapsed under a waste pit at an old plant in Eden in 2014, triggering a massive spill that coated 70 miles (110 kilometers) of the Dan River in gray sludge. The utility later agreed to plead guilty to nine Clean Water Act violations and pay $102 million in fines and restitution for illegally discharging pollution from ash dumps at five North Carolina power plants. It plans to close all its ash dumps by 2029. In South Carolina, workers with electricity provider Santee Cooper erected a temporary dike in hopes of preventing flooding of an old coal ash dump at the demolished Grainger Generating Station near Conway. The dump is adjacent to the Waccamaw River, which is expected to crest at nearly 20 feet (6 meters) this weekend. That's nine feet above flood stage and would set a new record height. ___ Follow Associated Press investigative reporter Michael Biesecker at twitter.com/mbieseck

An old article (written last year) about what a hypocrite Donald Trump is. ------ ------ Opinion Trump’s hypocritical fairway follies By Dick Polman August 7, 2017 President Donald Trump waves after arriving at Morristown Municipal Airport with his grandchildren, Arabella Kushner, right, and Joseph Kushner to begin his summer vacation at his Bedminster golf club, Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Morristown, N.J. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) President Donald Trump waves after arriving at Morristown Municipal Airport with his grandchildren, Arabella Kushner, right, and Joseph Kushner to begin his summer vacation at his Bedminster golf club, Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, in Morristown, N.J. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci) It shouldn’t matter where or how often a president goes on vacation. They can work from anywhere, as well evidenced by Bill Clinton in the summer of ’98, when he took time on Martha’s Vineyard to order retaliatory attacks on al Qaeda for its terrorist bombings of two U.S. embassies. Barack Obama spent lots of time golfing. George W. Bush spent lots of time on his Texas ranch. His dad spent lots of time in Kennebunkport. Ronald Reagan spent lots of time at his California ranch and vacationed in Barbados at the home of a Hollywood actress. Hey, whatever. Those guys all needed a break, assuming they ever really got one. So the vacation “issue” is totally phony — except when the president happens to be a flaming hypocrite. Indeed, if hypocrisy was a felony, Trump would be in leg irons. Back in the days when Trump was truly in his element — taking loans from Russian oligarchs and barging in on half-dressed beauty queens — he tweeted his outrage dozens of times about Obama’s hobby. In August 2011, for instance: “Barack Obama played golf yesterday. Now he heads to a 10-day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard. Nice work ethic.” In December 2013: “Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!” In October 2014: “Can you believe that with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.” Well. There was no way Trump would ever do anything like that. One month into his candidacy, in July 2015 — and please don’t puke your coffee while reading this — he solemnly promised: “I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done. I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president who takes time off.” And this, from a Trump gig on “60 Minutes”: “There’s just so much to be done, so I don’t think we’ll be very big on vacations.” And get this, from August 2016: “I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf.” It was hilarious, on Bill Maher’s show Friday night, to hear religious-right leader Ralph Reed praise Trump as a man of honor who “keeps his word.” Reed pointed out that Trump had kept his word on naming a conservative to the Supreme Court — which is all Reed cares about, because he had nothing else to say about a guy whose veracity is nil and whose word has the value of soiled tissue. The golf thing is Exhibit A. The golf thing matters only because Trump pledged not to golf like Obama did. The latest stats: From January to August 2009, Obama’s first seven months in office, he spent all or part of 15 days at leisure. From January to August 2017, Trump’s first seven months in office, he spent all or part of 53 days at leisure. Obama, in his first seven months, played 17 rounds of golf. Trump, in his first seven months, played 33 — and that doesn’t include his current 17-day stay at a favorite golf resort. The hypocrite is a tad sensitive about all this. He tweeted the other day, and again this morning, that his golf sojourn is actually “a working vacation” — and I suppose that’s true, if we accept the fact that his definition of working is tweeting. A rainy morning has kept him off the links, and so, swinging wildly in the sand trap of his mind, he’s been working hard to hurl fresh insults at whoever, using words like baby, child, con artist, defrauded, failing, fake, inept, lied, phony. So much for chief of staff John Kelly’s bid to curb the tweeting. (And even though he’s vacationing at a clip unmatched by Obama, the destructive work of Trump regime goes on; case in point, its relentless crusade to make coal the de facto national religion — at a time when even red states like Wyoming are enjoying a job boom from wind power.) But Trump will be hauling himself into his golf cart soon enough, so my real question is: How come Trump’s old allies on the Republican right — the party hacks and media megaphones who routinely attacked Barack Obama for playing golf — are so conspicuously mum about Trump’s flagrant breach of promise and his incurable addiction to tee time? If it’s apparently fine to play lots of golf, why did Trump and the other loudmouths target Obama? Maybe they wanted to conjur the image of an uppity black…or a lazy black… Naw, that’s not possible. — Follow me on Twitter, @dickpolman1, and on Facebook.

President Trump: I'm 'so sad over Jeff Sessions' President Trump slammed the nation's top law enforcement officer in an interview with The Hill. 'I don't have an attorney general' Why doesn't Trump take Jeff Sessions out back of the White House and shoot Sessions in the head? Wouldn't that be more merciful than this constant disparaging of the Attorney General, the man who is supposed to lead the Justice Department? -------- -------- The Washington Post Politics ‘I don’t have an attorney general’: Trump escalates his attacks on Jeff Sessions When answering questions on Sept. 19, President Trump said he's "disappointed with the attorney general for many reasons, and you understand that." (The Washington Post) By John Wagner and Matt Zapotosky September 19 at 10:30 AM President Trump escalated his attacks on Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Tuesday, offering a scathing assessment of his performance on the job and in his confirmation hearing. “I don’t have an attorney general. It’s very sad,” Trump said in an interview with Hill.TV, in which he also said the former senator from Alabama came off as “mixed up and confused” when he appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee in January 2017. Trump has long been publicly critical of Sessions’s decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and said that he has regretted nominating him to lead the Justice Department. But in the Hill.TV interview, Trump offered broader criticism, including on Sessions’s handling of immigration issues, which has been cheered by Trump allies. “I’m not happy at the border, I’m not happy with numerous things, not just this,” Trump said, referring to the Russia investigation. Sessions has implemented some of the most aggressive and controversial steps to try to crack down on illegal immigration — emphasizing “zero tolerance” for those who come to the country illegally, defending the policy of separating families, and issuing a ruling that limits those who qualify for asylum, among other things. Attorney General Jeff Sessions speaks during an event at the Department of Justice in Washington earlier this month. (Saul Loeb/AFP/Getty Images) A Justice Department spokesman declined to comment on Wednesday morning. Trump doubled down on his criticism of Sessions as he left the White House on Wednesday morning for North Carolina to survey hurricane damage. “I’m disappointed in the attorney general for many reasons, and you understand that,” he told reporters. In the interview, Trump suggested he appointed Sessions out of blind loyalty. “I’m so sad over Jeff Sessions because he came to me,” Trump said. “He was the first senator that endorsed me. And he wanted to be attorney general, and I didn’t see it.” Trump said Sessions did “very poorly” during the confirmation process. “I mean, he was mixed up and confused, and people that worked with him for, you know, a long time in the Senate were not nice to him, but he was giving very confusing answers,” Trump said. “Answers that should have been easily answered. And that was a rough time for him.” Citing Justice Department regulations, Sessions announced his recusal from the Russia investigation in March because of his prominent role in the Trump campaign. Part of the investigation now led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is focusing on whether Trump’s campaign coordinated with Russia. In the interview, Trump questioned Sessions’s self-recusal, asserting that the FBI “reported shortly thereafter any reason for him to recuse himself.” It was not immediately clear what he meant. Career Justice Department ethics officials had told Sessions he had to step aside from any campaign-related investigations. FBI officials would not have been among those providing advice. Then-FBI Director James B. Comey said at a congressional hearing that he was aware of nonpublic information that he believed would force the attorney general to step aside before Sessions did so, though he declined to specify what those facts were. Trump, as president, could fire Sessions at any time, but for more than a year, he has chosen instead merely to insult his attorney general. Trump has previously suggested he is unlikely to fire Sessions before the midterm elections in November. Trump did not offer a firm answer when asked about Sessions’s future by Hill.TV. “We’ll see what happens,” he said. “A lot of people have asked me to do that. And I guess I study history, and I say I just want to leave things alone, but it was very unfair what he did.” “We’ll see how it goes with Jeff,” Trump added. “I’m very disappointed in Jeff. Very disappointed.”

President Trump doubts that Kavanaugh accuser is telling the truth. Kavanaugh is too wonderful of a man to rape a woman. But Trump does not want the FBI to investigate. Why waste taxpayer money on an investigation that will go nowhere? Kavanaugh is innocent, he will make a wonderful Supreme Court Justice. So let's hear what the woman has to say, what Kavanaugh has to say, and then confirm Kavanaugh as Supreme Court Justice, because he deserves it. But no FBI investigation. We don't need it. We don't want it. We do want transparency, so let's hear what the parties have to say, then let the Republicans vote on the confirmation. End of story. Justice for all. ---- ---- President Trump casts doubt on Kavanaugh accuser, saying it's 'hard to imagine' that 'anything happened' New York Daily News DENIS SLATTERY Sep 19th 2018 10:47AM President Trump cast doubt on sexual assault claims made against his Supreme Court nominee Wednesday, but said Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser deserves to be heard. “I really would want to see what she has to say,” Trump said as he left the White House en route to the Carolinas. “I want to give it all the time they need. They’ve already given it time. They've delayed a major hearing.” Trump called Kavanaugh an "outstanding man" and says it's "very hard" for him to imagine anything happened. California college professor Christine Blasey Ford claims a drunken Kavanaugh violently assaulted her while the two were teenagers. Kavanaugh has denied Ford's allegations. The Senate Judiciary Committee has scheduled a public hearing for Monday and has invited Kavanaugh and Ford to testify regarding her allegation against him. While Ford's attorneys say she wants the FBI to investigate her allegation before she testifies, Trump said that her credibility rests on an appearance. “If she shows up, that would be wonderful,” he said. “If she doesn’t show up, that would be unfortunate. If she shows up and makes a credible showing, that'll be very interesting, and we'll have to make a decision, but, I can only say this, he’s such an outstanding man, it’s very hard for me to imagine that anything happened,” he added. Trump, himself no stranger to accusations of sexual misconduct, rejected the idea of asking the FBI to reopen its background investigation into Kavanaugh. He also expressed sympathy for his nominee. "I feel so badly for him that he's going through this, to be honest with you, I feel so badly for him," Trump said Tuesday. “This is not a man that deserves this.”

Trumpnado! Tweeting about storms, Trump seizes opportunity to make everything worse Jerry Adler 7 hours ago President Trump has been widely condemned for his tweets last week claiming the death toll figures in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria were inflated by Democrats to make him look bad. But give him some credit: At least he didn’t blame the storm on the media, James Comey or Jeff Sessions. Trump’s comments were wildly inaccurate and petty — deplorable, you could say — but the long tradition of storms bringing out the worst in American public discourse has numerous prior examples. Some evangelists seize on natural disasters — or even man-made ones, like 9/11 — to illustrate God’s punishment on people they disagree with. Pat Robertson infamously claimed that the 2010 earthquake in Haiti was God’s punishment on the nation for “a pact to the Devil” in exchange for their independence from France. That occurred in 1804, so none of the 160,000 people who died in the quake and its aftermath could have been implicated in the notorious deal, but God, as the Bible makes clear, believes in collective justice, and has a long memory. Franklin Graham was one of a large number of preachers who blamed the destruction of much of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina on the promiscuity and “perversion” (i.e., homosexuality) of that city’s inhabitants: “This is one wicked city, OK? It’s known for Mardi Gras, for Satan worship. It’s known for sex perversion. It’s known for every type of drugs and alcohol and the orgies. … There’s been a black spiritual cloud over New Orleans for years. They believe God is going to use that storm to bring revival.” Honorable mention for “worst use of weather to make a political point” goes to Trayon White, a member of the Washington, D.C., city council, for his response to an unexpected snowfall earlier this year. His reaction was to blame it on the Jews: “Y’all better pay attention to this climate control, man, this climate manipulation,” White said in a video posted to Facebook. “That’s a model based off the Rothschilds, controlling the climate to create natural disasters they can pay for to own the cities, man. Be careful.” Bonus points for the sheer ignorance in believing that bankers can manipulate the weather, but at least no one died in the epic flurries. (White later apologized.) Trump at least didn’t claim Democrats actually caused the deaths in Puerto Rico, only that they exaggerated the number to attack him over what many islanders saw as an inadequate federal response. For his part, Trump described his administration’s performance as “an incredible, unsung success.” As has been well documented, it took an excruciatingly long time to clear roads and restore power and phone service to much of the island, circumstances that led researchers commissioned by the governor to calculate that “excess deaths” from the storm over the succeeding months amounted to nearly 3,000. The study did not investigate individual cases or enumerate specific causes of death, but it identified vulnerable populations as “older adults; individuals with chronic medical conditions; patients requiring ongoing and specialized treatment; and patients with required prescription medications, including controlled substances.” Imagine someone with, for instance, heart failure, stuck in an isolated town without power, unable to call for an ambulance. Brock Long, Trump’s FEMA chief, added his own gloss to this scenario, pointing out with characteristic Trumpian sensitivity that in the aftermath of disasters “spousal abuse goes through the roof.” You can’t blame the government for that. So it’s fair to describe Trump’s reaction as delusional, self-aggrandizing and disrespectful both to the families of the victims and the professionalism of the researchers at George Washington University who conducted the study. It reflects his implacable insistence that anything he does is an “incredible” or “unbelievable” success, adjectives that perhaps reveal more than he intends. And the whole sorry spectacle is unnecessary, except to feed his need for approval. Of course Democrats were quick to point a finger at Trump for the way the hurricane played out — that’s politics. During the Ebola outbreak in Africa in 2014, even before anyone in America had contracted the disease, Trump was sending out increasingly hysterical tweets, eventually more than 100, warning that President Obama’s failure to suspend all travel from Africa would lead to massive carnage, a death toll that eventually reached two. As Trump put it, about a physician who returned to the U.S. from treating Ebola victims: “If this doctor, who so recklessly flew into New York from West Africa, has Ebola, then Obama should apologize to the American people & resign!” Well, he said it. If he wanted to say something about Puerto Rico, Trump could have deplored the tragic loss of life despite FEMA’s best efforts, said something bland about lessons learned, and moved on. A sixth-grader could have written that for him. Except, of course, for his inability even to feign modesty, a tendency that was fostered by his early career as a developer in New York City. You don’t sell a $4 million apartment by advertising it as “pretty good, considering what we had to go through to get it built.” It’s the world’s most luxurious building with the most incredible views and unbelievable amenities, and anyone who says otherwise is an enemy who must be discredited. The backdrop to all this, of course, was Hurricane Florence, which as of Tuesday afternoon was directly responsible for at least 34 deaths, although it spared Robertson’s broadcasting and education empire in Virginia, for which Robertson took credit: “We’ve seen many, many, many prayers being answered,” Robertson said. “We prayed together in our staff a few days ago and asked the Lord to move that hurricane’s course away from this area and from what we gather right now, the storm track has shifted south of this area and we no longer are under the threat of a serious hurricane here. … For that, I’m grateful.” Hopefully the infrastructure in North Carolina will prove more resilient than Puerto Rico’s, and there won’t be too many more deaths in the months ahead. You’d think hurricanes would be one subject that is immune to partisan bickering — after all, there’s no pro-disaster constituency, outside the conspiracy theories about international bankers White, the D.C. councilman, was incoherently referencing. Or Rush Limbaugh’s paranoid musing that “the left” is hyping the danger of hurricanes to promote its climate-change agenda. Or CNN, which according to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr., staged a photo of Anderson Cooper in waist-deep water during the deluge from Florence, to dramatize the flooding and make his father look bad. Cooper really was standing in water up to his waist. And the picture was from a different hurricane, in another state, 10 years ago. So maybe we can come together on a deal here: If the right will stop blaming hurricanes on gays, the left will stop blaming them on Trump. Actually, never mind. As scientists increasingly believe that climate change is making tropical storms more powerful, the conclusion is inevitable: They really are his fault. _____

Trump says it's hard for him to imagine Christine Blasey Ford's allegation against Brett Kavanaugh is true. Yet he wants to hear what she has to say. And he wants to hear what Kavanaugh has to say. Then, with an open mind, he will decide that Kavanaugh is telling the truth, and that the Ford woman i a woman who is mistaken: because this all happened many years ago, maybe it's only in her mind, maybe she was too young to understand what was happening, maybe a lot of other things. But Kavanaugh is a great man, who deserves to be on the Supreme Court. And the FBI has no business investigating Kavanaugh on false charges. So let Kavanaugh and Ford tell their stories, with no evidence, and then make up your mind who is more believable: Kavanaugh, a man who has sworn to uphold the law, or Ford, a woman who deals with psychological problems and maybe her own mind has been infected by the problems she has seen. Knockout by Kavaanaugh. End of story. ------ ------ Trump says hard for him to imagine Christine Blasey Ford's allegation against Brett Kavanaugh is true [ABC News] JORDYN PHELPS ABC NewsSeptember 19, 2018 Trump says hard for him to imagine Christine Blasey Ford's allegation against Brett Kavanaugh is true originally appeared on abcnews.go.com President Donald Trump says he wants to hear from the accuser of his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh but said it's hard for him to believe that the allegation brought by professor Christine Blasey Ford is true. "If she shows up and makes a credible showing, that will be very interesting and we'll have to make a decision," President Trump said. "But I can only say this, he is such an outstanding man. Very hard for me to imagine that anything happened." (Holton Arms School Yearbook) Asked directly by ABC News' Jonathan Karl if Ford's allegation is disqualifying for Kavanaugh if true, the president didn't directly answer, except to say he needs to hear her story first. "I would really want to see her. I would want to see what she has to say," he said. (Bill Clark/CQ Roll Call) The president again brushed off the idea of asking the FBI to reopen its background check into Kavanaugh, something he has the power to order, saying "it would seem the FBI doesn't do that" and deferring to senators to handle the process from this point forward. Through her attorney, Ford has said she is willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee but first wants the FBI to investigate the matter to help ensure all the facts have been vetted. "A full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions," her attorneys wrote in a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, reported first on CNN and obtained by ABC News. (MORE: Christine Blasey Ford, Brett Kavanaugh's accuser wants FBI investigation before testifying: Lawyer) The president said the Senate has already given a lot of extra time to the process due to the late-breaking allegation and questioned the motives of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, for not bringing forward a letter detailing the allegation, which she has had for months, sooner. "Why didn't Senator Feinstein bring this up at her meeting with judge Kavanaugh?" he said. "Why did they wait until everything was finished and then bring it up? That doesn't look good." (MORE: Anita Hill urges Senate to 'push the pause button' on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh) The president expressed sympathy for his Supreme Court pick, saying "it's a very unfair thing what's going on" and calling Kavanaugh "an extraordinary man." "This is a very tough thing for him and his family and we want to get it over with but at the same time we want to give tremendous amounts of time. If she shows up, that would be wonderful. If she doesn't show up, that would be unfortunate," he said. (MORE: The Note: Uncertainties cloud Kavanaugh fight) Kavanaugh has been personally "shaken" by the accusations against him, according to an official closely familiar with the nomination process, but remains "resolute" and "unflinching" in his categorical denials, the official said. Asked how Kavanaugh might hold up during a possible interrogation in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee next Monday, this official said he's going to be "very, very believable." Unlike the past two days, Kavanaugh has not come to the White House on Wednesday, according to the official. Rep. Anna Eshoo, D-Calif., who Ford reached out to initially over the summer, describes her as a “gentle, honest person who may change people’s minds.” (MORE:Congresswoman, first to talk to Kavanaugh accuser, calls her 'honest person' Eshoo told ABC News' Karl on "Powerhouse Politics" podcast that she met with Ford face-to-face over the July Fourth holiday and discussed her story. “My constituent is not a creature of Washington, D.C.," Eshoo said. "That's not who she is.” Eshoo said she thinks Ford is aware of the personal risks of coming forward. “She is I believe a very honest person. And what was so apparent to me was how this the effect it had on her in her in her adult life," Eshoo said. "That's why I think she has courage she's demonstrated an enormous amount of courage to come forward to tell her full story to the American people.” ABC News' Justin Fishel contributed to this report. This is a developing story. Please refresh for details.

President Trump does not want the FBI to investigate the Kavanaugh incident. He prefers that Kavanaugh and Ford testify in person, with no other witnesses or evidence. Then the Senate can make up their own minds who to believe. Why not use the FBI? Because Trump believes no evidence is needed, just the talk between the two parties. Maybe because Trump believes in his own powers of talk, and he believes in his own manufactured evidence, made from his powerful mind, which is far more important than any other evidence. No FBI. No talking to any people that were at the party. Kavanaugh claims he was not at the party. So any evidence of a witness who saw him at the party means that Kavanaugh either lied under oath, or conveniently forget what happened. If it can be proved that Kavanaugh was at the party, that is perjury on Kavanaugh's part. So instead of getting a seat on the Supreme Court, he could be disbarred as a lawyer. Also, why don't the Democrats try to prove Kavanaugh already lied, since there are questions about his previous testimony. --------- --------- Accuser's schoolmate says she recalls hearing of alleged Kavanaugh incident NBC News Ken Dilanian and Brandy Zadrozny and Ben Popken Sep 19th 2018 3:06PM WASHINGTON — A former schoolmate of Brett Kavanaugh's accuser wrote a Facebook post saying she recalls hearing about the alleged assault incident involving the future Supreme Court nominee, though she says she has no first-hand information to corroborate the accuser's claims. "Christine Blasey Ford was a year or so behind me," wrote the woman, Cristina Miranda King, who now works as a performing arts curator in Mexico City. "I did not know her personally but I remember her. This incident did happen." She added, "Many of us heard a buzz about it indirectly with few specific details. However Christine's vivid recollection should be more than enough for us to truly, deeply know that the accusation is true." Ford, a research psychologist in Northern California, has accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her more than 30 years ago at a drunken high school party. He denies the allegation. The assertion that other people heard about and discussed an incident between Ford and Kavanaugh at the time it is alleged to have happened could loom as an important factor in any investigation of the claim. Democrats are calling for the FBI to investigate, but the bureau cannot do so unless the White House asks it to. There is no allegation of a federal crime, so the bureau's role would be to examine the matter as part of its background check into the fitness and character of a Supreme Court nominee. King has since taken down her Facebook post, which NBC News verified as having appeared on her account. She said on Twitter that she deleted it "because it served its purpose and I am now dealing with a slew of requests for interviews … Organizing how I want to proceed. Was not ready for that, not sure I am interested in pursuing. Thanks for reading." She later posted on Facebook: "To all media, I will not be doing anymore interviews. No more circus for me. To clarify my post: I do not have first hand knowledge of the incident that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford mentions, and I stand by my support for Christine. That's it. I don't have more to say on the subject. Please don't contact me further." NBC News confirmed that the statements were hers, but did not confirm her allegation. King has also been critical of Trump administration policy on social media. Ford's lawyer has said she wants the FBI to conduct an inquiry before she testifies in a public hearing. Republicans have scheduled a hearing for Monday at which they want to hear from her and Kavanaugh. In her original post, King said she knew Kavanaugh and Mark Judge, the man Ford says was present during the alleged assault. Judge has said through his attorney he remembers no such incident. King graduated in 1983 from Holton-Arms, the elite all-female private school that Ford also attended, according to an open letter King and many other alumnae signed in support of Ford. King's post described a culture of heavy drinking among the students of the elite male and female private schools of Washington, D.C., including her own Holton-Arms and also Georgetown Preparatory School, which Judge and Kavanaugh attended. Judge has written two memoirs acknowledging his heavy drinking during that period. In his 1997 memoir, "Wasted," Judge writes about a "Bart O'Kavanaugh," who passes out drunk and throws up in a car. Holton-Arms did not return a call seeking verification of King's attendance. But a 1982 yearbook lists "Cristina King" as a student, and member of the Holton-Arms Athletic Association, an honor society. In her senior year, she led the school chorus as president, according to the 1983 yearbook. "Cristina King was able to keep the chorus members in tune as they trooped up to Hill and Lawrenceville to dazzle the boys with their talent and good looks," the club's yearbook page reads. Ford appears in both yearbooks as well. She graduated in 1984. King's LinkedIn page says she attended Brown University and worked for a decade in Washington, D.C. before moving to Mexico. Ken Dilanian reported from Washington. Brandy Zadrozny and Ben Popken reported from New York.

If the Democrats are too timid or incompetent to investigate the rape claim against Brett Kavanaugh, the Democrats deserve to lose to the Republicans in the fight to confirm Kavanaugh. The Republicans fought to confirm Clarence Thomas against sexual misconduct charges back in 1991. So the Republicans destroyed Anita Hill's reputation, and Clarence Thomas got a seat on the Supreme Court. Now the Republicans want to destroy a woman who claims Brett Kavanaugh tried to rape her. Democrats appear to be wimps who are ineffective.

Preaching to the choir. Did Brett Kavanaugh try to rape Christine Ford? A lot of people don't care. They either want or don't want him to be confirmed. And the rape charge seems to be irrelevant. ------ ------ Brett Kavanaugh Is Accused Of Sexual Assault. That Hasn't Changed Public Opinion At All. HuffPost Ariel Edwards-Levy,HuffPost 7 hours ago (Alex Wroblewski / Reuters) The sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court hopeful Brett Kavanaugh so far appears to have had virtually no effect on public support for his nomination, new polling finds. Although he remains historically unpopular, he doesn’t appear to have suffered any further attrition over the course of the past week. In three HuffPost/YouGov surveys ― one taken entirely before the scandal broke, one after the revelation that an allegation had been made against him and the third after the accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, publicly stepped forward ― opposition to confirming Kavanaugh has ranged between 31 and 34 percent. In the most recent poll, 32 percent support his confirmation, 32 percent oppose it and another 36 percent aren’t sure. Among those who disapprove of President Donald Trump’s choice of Kavanaugh for the seat, just 46 percent say their opposition stems from an objection to Kavanaugh personally, rather than a lack of confidence in Trump’s ability to nominate a suitable candidate. September surveys from other outlets, most of which were conducted prior to the latest news cycle, put Kavanaugh’s net support between -1 and +6. Part of the reason for the current stability may be that many people still aren’t focused on the story. Fewer than a quarter of respondents to the latest HuffPost/YouGov survey say they’re following Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings very closely, basically unchanged from earlier in the month; search engine data suggests Hurricane Florence probably drew a lot more attention. Seventy percent of Americans say they’ve heard at least something about Blasey’s accusation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both high school students, but just 35 percent that they’ve heard a lot about them. Even after hearing about the allegations, however, the public is split 35/36 on whether or not Kavanaugh should withdraw his nomination. Nearly half of Americans say they’re not sure if the allegation against Kavanaugh is credible or not ― those who do have an opinion one way or another are close to evenly divided. Thirty-nine percent say that the sexual assault allegation, if true, disqualifies Kavanaugh from serving on the Supreme Court, with 18 percent calling it relevant but not disqualifying, and 20 percent finding it not relevant at all. By comparison, in past HuffPost/YouGov polls, a 57 percent majority said the accusations against GOP Senate hopeful Roy Moore were disqualifying if true, and 63 percent said the same of the domestic violence allegations against former White House aide Rob Porter. Initial reactions to Kavanaugh’s nomination were already deeply polarized. The responses to the allegations ― like sentiments about the Me Too movement more broadly ― diverge sharply along those same political lines, leaving opinions as entrenched as they were previously. Sixty-two percent of Hillary Clinton voters, compared to 18 percent of non-voters and just 4 percent of Trump voters, say the allegation is credible; three-quarters of Clinton voters, 34 percent of non-voters and a tenth of Trump voters consider it disqualifying if true. More than 80 percent of Trump voters say they’d rather see the president continue to back Kavanaugh than replace him with another conservative nominee. As is often the case, politics is far more of a dividing line than gender, although some differences stand out within each voting bloc. Male and female Trump voters both see the accusation against Kavanaugh as lacking credibility and irrelevant to his nomination, but the men are 23 points and 9 points likelier, respectively, to hold those opinions. Across the aisle, male Clinton voters are more likely than female Clinton voters to view the accusation as credible ― the women are no more likely to doubt it, but do more commonly choose not to state an opinion. Gender also influences the personal perspectives different people bring to the controversy. Men say by an 11-point margin that they worry more about being accused of sexual harassment than of facing it, while women say by a 23-point margin that they’re more worried they will be harassed. A majority of both men and women say they’re not concerned about either possibility, although half of women under 30 report fearing sexual harassment. The current fight over Kavanaugh’s nomination draws unavoidable comparisons to 1991, when pollsters were asking similar questions about the accusations against Clarence Thomas. At the time, Thomas was generally popular with the American public, and Anita Hill’s testimony did little to change public opinion. In one survey, 62 percent of the public said they believed Hill’s charges would have been taken more seriously if there were more than two women serving in the Senate. Today, Americans say by an 8-point margin that Thomas shouldn’t have been confirmed, according to the HuffPost/YouGov survey. Just a tenth of those polled say the Senate is doing a better job of handling sexual misconduct allegations today than it did in 1991, with 24 percent saying it’s worse and 34 percent that it’s about the same. The HuffPost/YouGov poll consisted of 1,000 completed interviews conducted Sept. 17-18 among U.S. adults using a sample selected from YouGov’s opt-in online panel to match the demographics and other characteristics of the adult U.S. population. HuffPost has teamed up with YouGov to conduct daily opinion polls. You can learn more about this project and take part in YouGov’s nationally representative opinion polling. More details on the polls’ methodology are available here. Most surveys report a margin of error that represents some, but not all, potential survey errors. YouGov’s reports include a model-based margin of error, which rests on a specific set of statistical assumptions about the selected sample rather than the standard methodology for random probability sampling. If these assumptions are wrong, the model-based margin of error may also be inaccurate. Click here for a more detailed explanation of the model-based margin of error. GOP Fakes Sincerity for Kavanaugh’s Accuser, Then Goes In for Kill What they’ve learned in 27 years is to play it cool for 24 hours, so the narrative is ‘Republicans Agree Ford Should Be Heard.’ Then they start turning the screws. Michael Tomasky 09.20.18 5:20 AM ET opinion Well, it seems the Republicans have learned exactly one thing in the 27 years since the Anita Hill hearings: be respectful to the woman in the first 24 hours. Hey, that’s progress. At this rate, they’ll demand an FBI investigation in 2045, and by 2072, who knows, maybe they’ll actually believe the woman! Read this New York Times article from October 7, 1991. It’s the first-day article announcing the explosive news that Hill accused Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment just two days away from his full Senate confirmation vote. Advertisement In it, the reporter writes that the George H.W. Bush White House began pushback against Hill that very day, or the day before: White House staffers gave reporters the name of another woman who had worked with Hill and Thomas at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and would vouch for Thomas. The woman said Hill was making the charges up out of spite that Thomas “did not show any sexual interest in her” (the Times’ words, not the woman’s). Compare to today. Kellyanne Conway said straight out of the chute that Dr. Ford deserves to be heard. Donald Trump said nothing untoward about her. Can you imagine how itchy his Twitter finger was on Monday morning? But they hid his smart phone in the White House gym or vegetable cellar or some other chamber Trump doesn’t frequent. I’m not complimenting them. I’m observing that they figured out that the narrative on these kinds of things is set in the first 24 hours and so it was crucial that for those 24 hours, they behave themselves. Seem like they learned from last time, or even from #MeToo. Lindsey Graham, earlier in the week, even uttered the r-word: “I’d have a hard time putting somebody on the Court that I thought tried to rape somebody. Period.” That quote arrested me, as it seemed to indicate that Graham was actually being open to the possibility of an investigation to determine just what Brett Kavanaugh actually did that night. But within 24 hours, Graham was back on side. “Requiring an FBI investigation of a 36-year-old allegation (without specific references to time or location) before Professor Ford will appear before the Judiciary Committee is not about finding the truth, but delaying the process till after the midterm elections,” Graham tweeted after Christine Blasey Ford's lawyer said she wanted an FBI investigation before testifying. “It is imperative the Judiciary committee move forward on the Kavanaugh nomination and a committee vote be taken ASAP.” Related in Politics GOP Delivers Ultimatum to Kavanaugh’s Accuser The Republicans Grilling Christine Blasey Ford Are All Men Kavanaugh Prep School Pal Doesn’t Want to Testify Publicly So that’s what they’ve learned in 27 years—and evidently, it’s all they need to learn, because it looks like it’s going to get their nominee through. They played it cool at the start so that the first-day stories wouldn’t say the Republicans blew a gasket and immediately started discrediting the woman; so that instead, those stories would say “Republicans agree Dr. Ford should be heard.” Establish them as reasonable people. Then, once they skated through that news cycle, they’d start turning the screws. They played it like Bond villains. Sit down, Meestah Bond. We are both men of the world. We have much to discuss. Beluga caviar? Dom Perignon ’55? What’s that, you prefer the ’53? Alfonso, down to the cellar, fetch a bottle of the ’53! It’s all civility for a few hours. Then they attach him to the laser beam machine with the piranhas swimming below. That’s what the Republicans do, except they’re smarter than Blofeld. They don’t walk away so the captive can escape. They stay and watch. They finish the job. They know exactly what they can get away with, because they know the sad truth of the matter. The sad truth of the matter is that Ford and her lawyers don’t have the leverage to force an FBI investigation or delay the hearing. The only leverage Ford had, potentially, was if Donald Trump had called her a liar and a slut in those first 24 hours. Then, she’d have been a figure of enormous sympathy. Now, alas, she’s mostly a figure of partisan sympathy. Mind you, she shouldn’t have to demand an FBI probe. If the Republicans were actually interested in learning the truth about what happened on that long-ago night, of course they’d want the FBI to look into it. If the White House was interested, it would have directed the FBI to get to the bottom of her allegations. By the way, if this isn’t too dog-bites-man, Donald Trump lied about all that. “The FBI said they don’t really do that,” he said Tuesday. No. According to Pete Williams of NBC news, it’s up to the White House to ask the FBI to investigate. But they didn’t want an FBI probe. They were terrified of what an FBI probe would find, just as they were all mortified at the idea that they might have to be relying on Mark Judge as a character witness. So they’re getting their way, probably. Although Ford could still show up next Monday and blow people away. She’d need to find just the right tone in telling them, 'You set me up; you made me come up here with a few days’ preparation while getting death threats and take your best shots, and fine, I’m doing it.' If she does testify and does it well, she can turn this around one more time. And if she can’t, well, that’s a hell of a weight to put on someone who was a private person minding her own business until five days ago. I believe her. I bet most people believe her. I bet Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski end up believing her. But I bet they won’t have the courage to admit it. Just remember: If Kavanaugh does make it, there’s one good way to get revenge. Vote. Vote, vote, vote. Make the Senate Democratic. That should ensure no more Supreme Court choices for Trump if another vacancy opens up (the Democrats just need to stonewall, as the Republicans did to Merrick Garland) and virtually no confirmations of any consequence. The time to stop Kavanaugh was 2016. But the time to stop future ones? That starts this November 6. Michael Tomasky @mtomasky michael.tomasky@thedailybeast.com

If for nothing else, you have to admire Donald Trump for his lies and broken promises. While campaigning for president, Trump promised he would never play golf because he would be too busy working at the job of being president. He criticized Obama time and again for taking time off from the job of president to go golfing. But once in office as president, Trump has spent far more time golfing than Obama ever did. Trump lies and smiles, he breaks promises and smiles. He is living the good life making more money as president than any of his predecessors ever did: how? by breaking laws that prohibit the president from making a personal profit while in office from his position. ------ ------ Canoers Sue Trump for Barring Them From Potomac River While He Golfs The Canoe Cruisers Association of Greater Washington is suing the Trump administration for ‘illegal restrictions of the Potomac River’ while the president hits the links. Pilar Melendez Pilar Melendez 09.20.18 1:07 PM ET Photo Illustration by Sarah Rogers/The Daily Beast “If I win I may never see my property—I may never see these places again,” then-candidate Donald Trump said at an August 2016 campaign event. “But because I’m going to be working for you, I’m not going to have time to go golfing, believe me. Believe me." The once-vocal critic of presidential golfing seemed to ignore his own campaign promise once he took office and has now golfed 144 times since taking office. In his first year alone, Trump spent more time on the links than President George W. Bush did during his two terms in office, and almost three times as much as Barack Obama did during his first year. In fact, Donald Trump visits his golf course in Northern Virginia so much that one canoeing group is suing his administration for placing allegedly illegal and frequent restrictions on the Potomac River—which borders the Trump-owned hotel. The Canoe Cruisers Association of Greater Washington on Thursday filed a lawsuit alleging the Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security are “revoking the public’s legal right to access and enjoy a popular section of the Potomac River whenever President Trump visits Trump National.” “We would like them to recognize the Potomac is a recreational river and we are allowed to use it recreationally,” Barbara Brown, Canoe Cruisers Association Chairman, told The Daily Beast on Thursday. “We have had to alter all of our plans because we never know when the president is going to be around.” Filed at the U.S. District Court in Maryland, the complaint alleges a Coast Guard-established rule that prevents use of the Potomac along Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia is unlawful. The “permanent security zone” rule announced last July restricts access along two miles of the river anytime the president or any other high-ranking official is at the club, which is often on weekends and holidays. “The Coast Guard can both ensure that the President’s security needs are fully met and uphold the inherent rights of the public to access and recreate on the Potomac, the Nation’s River,” reads the suit. The lawsuit additionally alleges the Coast Guard didn’t follow proper protocol when rolling out this new security-zone rule. “There’s a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things, and this lawsuit is about doing things the right way because that matters,” Anne Harkavy, executive director of Democracy Forward, a legal nonprofit that filed in conjunction with the canoers, said in a statement. “The President can retreat to his private club and play golf, but the Administration can’t shirk its obligation to hear and respond to the public’s concerns about a permanent deprivation of legal access to part of the Potomac River,” Harkavy continued. In the lawsuit, the canoe association of more than 250 members cites at least 32 times since last June that the river was made off-limits because the president decided to play golf. “The Administration needs to listen to the hundreds of river users who opposed this rule, and establish with certainty a reasonable outcome that maintains access to this treasured natural resource while addressing the legitimate security considerations for the President,” Brown said in a statement. In addition to naming U.S. Coast Guard commandant Karl L. Schultz as a defendant, the lawsuit alleges the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Kirsten M. Nielsen are responsible for neglecting to address the “unlawful” rule. When the new rule went into effect last summer, local canoers and kayakers immediately offered vocal critiques. After two weeks of public outcry and what Brown called a “big publicity problem,” the Coast Guard announced they would be open to reversing the rule. “As long as they stay to the Maryland side of the Potomac River, they can pass clearly when the security zone is in effect,” Coast Guard Commandant Admiral Paul Zunkunft said at a congressional hearing. During a one-month period last year after the rule went into effect, the Coast Guard opened a “comment period” which Brown described as an “open forum for paddlers.” More than 634 comments were filed in an effort to change the rule, Brown said, and DHS promised to address the issue. But according to the new complaint, the feds ended up doing nothing. “DHS was legally required to address these commends and revise the rule— and it promised that it would do so,” the suit states. “Nevertheless, the Rule has been in place for well more than a full year and DHS has taken no steps to revise the Rule or otherwise respond to comment in any way.” Brown, who has been an active member of the association since 1959, said the lawsuit seeks to hold the Coast Guard and the DHS accountable. “We are not trying to make trouble,” Brown said. “But there is no advanced notice we are being chased off the river and people are often told to leave. This is a conservation issue.” Democracy Forward says unlike past administrations that have only temporarily established river restrictions, the Trump administration has gone far beyond that practice and caused a chilling effect for public river users. “The rule has created uncertainty surrounding public use of a popular section of the river while the President is golfing, something he has spent nearly 25 percent of his days in office doing,” Democracy Forward said in a press release on Thursday. Despite the decision to sue the Trump administration, Brown insisted the lawsuit and the Canoe Cruisers are not politically motivated. “This is not a personal animosity against the Trump, or any, administration. We’re just trying to paddle our own canoes,” Brown said. Pilar Melendez @pbmelendez Pilar.Melendez@thedailybeast.com

Now that Miley Cyrus' sister is legal (she is 1, maybe Donald Trump can try grabbing her by the pussy. Noah Cyrus is blonde, like Trump's favorite daughter. So that might be an extra reason for Trump to hump this sweet little doll. Go, Trump, leader of the Moral Majority for White Americans. ---- ---- The Crying Game This May Make You Weep: Miley Cyrus’ Sister Is Selling Her Tears Online For $12,000 Noah Cyrus is selling a line of merchandise that includes a $12,000 bottle of her tears. Is she monetizing depression, or calling attention to mental health issues? Alaina Demopoulos 09.20.18 2:28 PM ET According to every person who has ever coached their friend through a breakup, it takes more muscles to smile than it does to frown. But how many muscles does it take to slip into a pair of $60 “Sadness” sweatpants, bring a bottle of squeezy cheese into bed, and wallow your night away? Noah Cyrus, the 18-year-old younger sister to Miley, might know. In celebration(?) of the release of her EP Good Cry, Cyrus took it upon herself to release a line of sad-girl merch with PizzaSlime. Along with the sweats, Cyrus took one for the team and bottled up her own tears in droppers that can be yours, forever, for only $12,000. (But you should run, not walk, to this pity party, as the line is only available for 48 hours.) The sell for the tears runs as follows: "This is approximately 12 tears made by Noah Cyrus as a result of sadness. Human digestion of these tears is not suggested cause tears are generally pretty salty and that would just be super fucking weird if you drank someone else's tears." Roy Orbison may have had the best song to cry to of all time. Unlike the Big O, the Little C’s preferred method of music promotion is to capitalize off her generation’s alarmingly high rates of depression and suicide. In August, Cyrus revealed to L'Officiel that she has struggled with anxiety and depression, and those issues reportedly inspired the self-admitted “emo”-ness of her sound. As she said, “I’ve been struggling with depression, and (it’s) okay to feel those feelings." There is a strength that comes through admitting your emotions are valid. Maybe for some, wearing the “Sadness” sweats and “sry i’m trash” hoodie are a way to rail against the stigma of talking about mental health issues. This collaboration comes one week after Cyrus’ reported split with the rapper Lil Xan (real name: Diego Leanos). According to Leanos, the brief relationship was all a PR stunt. Cyrus, and Columbia Records have denied this claim. Whether they were dating or not, such drama is enough for at least one round of $12,000 stress crying. This isn't the first time a line has tried to make mental illness trendy. Back in 2014, Urban Outfitters was called out for selling a printed with the word "Depression." (The retailer later pulled the top from its shelves.) Noah Cyrus' collection of sobbing accoutrements might make you go “Whaaa?” at first, but anyone who’s been 1) sad and 2) had access to the Internet could have seen it coming. Depression is a main theme of Internet humor, particularly in memes. Pictures of shy-looking puppies are accompanied by captions that describe the pressures of social anxiety. A photo of Kermit crying will include a joke about seasonal affected disorder. Even the New York Times has reported on the meme seen ‘round the world of an anthropomorphic dog sitting calmly in a room on fire thinking, “This is fine.” As I-D reported in 2017, these funny, digestible posts have helped open a dialogue about mental health. Great, right? Reducing the stigma of depression is all fun and games until PizzaSlime jumps in to fetishize female tears. “We love pop culture because it gives you something to talk to your parents about and it's what you talk about at the office water cooler. We use pop culture as a way to be part of those conversations” PizzaSlime was founded by Stoveman and Hobin, two humans who told Us Weekly they use the monikers to preserve a sense of anonymity. That mystery has only helped the duo earn fans of several Kardashians, Lady Gaga, and Diplo. Their M.O. is to keep a finger fixed on the pulse of what's going on in the tabloids, and produce pieces that make a statement about what's buzzy in entertainment land. Quoth the Stoveman: "We love pop culture because it gives you something to talk to your parents about and it's what you talk about at the office water cooler. We use pop culture as a way to be part of those conversations.” The line's clothing—mostly t-shirts—are basically wearable memes, with purposefully low quality standards. One shirt reads "Ugly But Honest," and looks like something you'd pick up for 50 cents at a yard sale. PizzaSlime also sells a menagerie of millennial oddities such as a $15 used condom wrapper (sold out!) and a pack of Plan B (this is what happens when you deny women easy access to contraceptives, people!) As for Noah's $12,000 tears, PizzaSlime reps did not respond for The Daily Beast’s request to comment on how the liquid was collected, or if the bottle actually contained human tears at all. (Meanwhile, I'm waiting for the app that tells me how much my plebeian tears are worth.) For anyone concerned over the fetishization of female malaise, consider the wise words of my favorite sad girls, Fiona Apple, at the 1997 VMAs. “This world is bullshit. . .and you shouldn’t model your life about what you think we think is cool, and what we’re wearing, and what we’re saying, and everything. Go with yourself.”

Breaking news: Trump breaks down in tears and admits he tried to rape his daughter. But he was under the influence of alcohol, and is therefore blame-free. Also, as President, he is shielded from criminal prosecution, because his job is too important, and as Brett Kavanaugh wrote, a President should not have to deal with minor distractions while in office (this was after he earlier helped plan the interrogation of President Bill Clinton for all details of his trysts with intern Monica Lewinsky, but Clinton was a Democrat, and there are different rules for Democrats and Republicans). So Kavanaugh wants to protect President Trump, because both are fine and good Republicans. And Republicans can safely ignore and deny sexual escapades, because boys will be boys, and what happens with boys and men is protected by Republican everywhere.

This is terribly wrong. People are criticizing the President of the United States for trying to make the survivors of Hurricane Florence feel better with jokes. The president is one of the finest persons we have ever known, famous for his wit and warm heart and generosity to others. Yet some people, probably slime-ball Democrats and other low-lifes, don't seem to appreciate the president's humor. We don't deserve President Trump. And if he decides not to run in 2020, we will only be shamed and heart-broken at the loss of future hope. God save Donald Trump, the leader of the Moral Majority of White Americans. ------- ------- ‘What Is Wrong With You?’: Trump Slammed For Tone-Deaf Comments To Storm Survivors [HuffPost] Ed Mazza ,HuffPost•September 20, 2018 President Donald Trump made a number of eyebrow-raising comments on Wednesday as he visited North Carolina to survey the damage left behind by Hurricane Florence and meet with survivors. But critics say his tone-deaf comments brought anything but comfort. At one point, Trump told storm victims to “have a good time” as they arrived for meals and supplies. At another, he spoke with a homeowner who said the insurance company didn’t want to pay for the damage after a boat ― not his ― washed up and crashed against his deck. “At least you got a nice boat out of the deal,” said Trump. The sister-in-law of Christine Blasey Ford strongly supports her story about the Kananaugh rape attempt. But Republicans are attacking Ford's credibility. That's one of the things Republicans love to do: attack their enemies: even when the enemy is a fellow Republican. Read the two stories below for details on how Christine Ford is an honest person. And how the Republicans want to destroy her . President Trump is arguing out of both sides of his mouth. He says if the attempted rape happened, it should have been investigated by law enforcement. But he also says that the FBI should not investigate the attempted rape. Why? Because he wants people to either ignore the attempted rape, or think it never happened. And the FBI should stay out of it, because this is a fight between Republicans and Democrats, and the FBI should have no say. ------ ------ 'I don't see any possibility' Christine Blasey Ford is mistaken about Kavanaugh, sister-in-law says Good Morning America JUSTIN DOOM,Good Morning America 1 hour 21 minutes ago 'I don't see any possibility' Christine Blasey Ford is mistaken about Kavanaugh, sister-in-law says originally appeared on abcnews.go.com The sister-in-law of Christine Blasey Ford, the college professor who's accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were teenagers, said on "Good Morning America" that "I don't see any possibility" that Ford is mistaken. Deborah Ford Peters said Ford is down to earth, hardworking and honest. Peters also said that since the accusation against Kavanaugh, which he's denied, Ford has received death threats. Ford spoke out, writing a letter to Sen. Diane Feinstein in July, Peters said, because "I assume that she was very concerned about Judge Kavanaugh being considered for the Supreme Court." "I think she doesn't want her story misrepresented, in the way that it was leaked," Peters added, "but I think she also strongly believes that story needs to be heard by that American public, that they need to know what this man did in his youth so that he is held responsible." (MORE: Christine Blasey Ford 'prepared to testify next week,' her lawyer tells senators) Peters met Ford in 2002 shortly before Ford married her brother. "She's quite gregarious and quite a good listener -- and kind of the family glue I would say," Peters recalled. (MORE: Christine Blasey Ford nets support. Female senators speak out about Republican 'bullying' of Kavanaugh accuser) Some Republicans have suggested Ford's accusation against Kavanaugh could be a case of mistaken identity. "I can't imagine any reason that it would be mistaken identity," Peters said. "Specifically working with people who have been through traumas, the details of the traumas are often etched in their minds forever." Peters is a psychologist who works in private practice in California. (MORE: Judiciary Committee Republicans have maintained open line of communication with Ford lawyers) Peters said she hasn't yet had a chance to sit down with Ford and discuss the specific incident in clinical detail, but "people who experience sexual assaults that are as scary as this one seems to be, according to her story, can suffer shame, fear, depression, anxiety. It can inhibit them socially, professionally. So I don't know which of those things she's carried with her, but I'm sure it's carried some scars." Overall, Peters added, she's proud of her sister-in-law for coming forward in the first place. "I feel very proud of her and kind of impressed and amazed that she has the courage to come out and face whatever consequences she has to face," Peters said. "But she's a strong person. She's showing us she's capable of doing it."

Trump starts attacking credibility of Kavanaugh accuser Dylan Stableford 1 hour 6 minutes ago President Trump speaks at a campaign rally in Las Vegas on Thursday. (Photo: Mike Segar/Reuters) President Trump on Friday joined those attacking the credibility of Christine Blasey Ford, who has charged that Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her at a party decades ago. Trump said his Supreme Court nominee is “under assault” by Democrats who want to derail his confirmation to the high court. “Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man, with an impeccable reputation, who is under assault by radical left wing politicians who don’t want to know the answers,” Trump tweeted. “They just want to destroy and delay. Facts don’t matter. I go through this with them every single day in D.C.” “I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents,” he continued. “I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!” According to statistics cited by the national anti-sexual violence organization RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), the majority of sexual assaults aren’t reported to police, usually because of fears of retaliation. “The radical left lawyers want the FBI to get involved NOW,” the president added. “Why didn’t someone call the FBI 36 years ago?” Ford says she was sexually assaulted by Kavanaugh in the early 1980s at a house party in suburban Maryland. She was 15 years old at the time of the alleged incident. The FBI would not ordinarily have been involved in investigating a local crime. According to Ford’s account, Kavanaugh and his friend forced her into a room at the party and he “pinned her to a bed on her back and groped her over her clothes, grinding his body against hers and clumsily attempting to pull off her one-piece bathing suit and the clothing she wore over it. When she tried to scream, she said, he put his hand over her mouth.” “I thought he might inadvertently kill me,” Ford said. In July, Ford — a 51-year-old research psychologist and professor in Palo Alto, Calif. — sent a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., detailing the alleged incident but requesting she remain anonymous. After news of the letter leaked, Ford reluctantly went public as Kavanaugh’s accuser in an interview with the Washington Post that was published Sunday. Judge Brett Kavanaugh leaves his home in Chevy Chase, Md., on Wednesday. (Photo: Win McNamee/Getty Images) Trump’s statements come amid a growing partisan battle about whether to delay a Monday hearing for both Kavanaugh and Ford. Kavanaugh, who denies the allegations, sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley Thursday, saying he is eager to testify “as soon as possible, so that I can clear my name.” Ford’s attorneys say she needs more time to prepare and is willing to testify Thursday, not Monday. Her other demands are that she is questioned by senators, not an outside counsel; that Kavanaugh is not present at her hearing; that he testifies first, and that the committee subpoenas other witnesses, including Kavanaugh’s friend Mark Ford, who she says was in the room at the time of the alleged assault. “As you are aware, she’s been receiving death threats which have been reported to the FBI and she and her family have been forced out of their home,” Debra Katz, Ford’s lawyer, wrote in an email to the committee. “She wishes to testify, provided that we can agree on terms that are fair and which ensure her safety. A hearing on Monday is not possible and the committee’s insistence that it occur then is arbitrary in any event.” Kavanaugh’s wife has also received threats that are being investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Wall Street Journal. Trump, who had been uncharacteristically restrained in his response to the allegations, showed signs of frustration before a rally in Las Vegas Thursday night. “Let her have her say and let’s see how it all works out, but I don’t think you can delay it any longer,” Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “Why didn’t somebody call the FBI 36 years ago?” Earlier this week, Trump said he was eager to hear from Ford, but expressed doubt that her testimony would be “credible” enough to change his opinion of Kavanaugh. “I really want to see her; I would really want to see what she has to say,” Trump told reporters on Wednesday. “If she shows up and makes a credible showing, that’ll be very interesting, and we’ll have to make a decision. But I can only say this: He is such an outstanding man, [it’s] very hard for me to imagine anything happened.” Trump also falsely suggested that the FBI cannot reopen its background investigation of Kavanaugh — something both Democrats and Ford’s lawyers have called for. “It would seem that the FBI really doesn’t do that,” Trump said before noting the bureau did, in fact, conduct a total of six separate background investigations as Kavanaugh rose to prominence a federal court judge. But the FBI could reopen its background check on Kavanaugh if the president ordered it. Anita Hill’s harassment allegations against Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas were investigated by the FBI after the first round of Senate Judiciary Committee hearings had concluded. ___

President Trump, a man known for his lies and boasts, says that Brett Kavanaugh is a fine man. Trump also says that facts don't matter. Trump gives speeches, which are full of lies, that are later proven to be lies. And Trump just loves to deny facts. Because he believes the American public will swallow his lies. Or ignore his lies. And he seems to be right. Based on his lies, if the American public really cared about the truth, Trump would have been impeached and removed from office.

Former Student: Brett Kavanaugh’s Prep School Party Scene Was A ‘Free-For-All’ HuffPost Ashley Feinberg,HuffPost 18 hours ago For the duration of his time on campus, a former student recalls, the guiding principle among Georgetown Preparatory School students was straightforward: Don’t be a narc. “Don’t tell, don’t tell,” said the former student, who overlapped at the school in North Bethesda, Maryland, with current Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, class of ’83. It was a code of preppy omerta to which Kavanaugh himself has alluded. “But then,” the former student continued, “you’re getting all these 14-, 15-, 16-year-olds, 17-year-old kids doing whatever the fuck they wanted to do, with no repercussions. Drugs everywhere. Partying everywhere. Drinking — just whatever we wanted to do. It was unbelievable, off the rails. And that’s just how it was.” Sexual misconduct, the former student says, was routine, shrugged off. “My friend, who went to one of the private girls’ schools, said she woke up with a guy on top of her,” the former student said. “And this was not a situation where people would talk about it. They would just say: ‘Oh, well, how’d you do? How was your weekend?’ ‘Oh, well, I got attacked.’ And that was just normal then. It was an attitude where ‘No’ didn’t necessarily mean ‘I’m going to stop.’ It meant ‘I’m going to keep going,’ and ‘I’m going to keep going because I’m privileged and I’m allowed to and I’m not going to get in trouble for it.’” The former student would speak about his time at Georgetown Prep only on the condition of anonymity, fearing attacks from his fellow alumni. Based on the response to Christine Blasey Ford’s allegation that Kavanaugh attempted to rape her when they were both in high school, his fears are not unfounded. In describing the culture of the school in those days, the former student pointed to the April 1984 overdose of 28-year-old David Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy, who’d injected drugs into his groin, apparently to hide the needle marks. (Cocaine, Demerol and Mellaril were found in his system.) The former student spoke of Kennedy’s death as the end of the school’s free-for-all party scene and the catalyst for changes in Georgetown Prep culture. Two Prep students — David’s brother Doug, and his friend Derrick Evans — had helped David Kennedy score the coke. Doug, class of ’86, had been at the center of Georgetown Prep social life, which the former student characterized as “weekly frat-style parties with the neighboring sister schools and other private schools,” often hosted by Kennedy at his family’s house in McLean, Virginia. The death certainly registered on campus. The former student remembered the FBI showing up at Georgetown Prep one day and questioning a student. “Everybody was like, ‘Oh shit, what happened? How is this going to affect us?’” said the former student. “‘Were we involved? Did this happen with us?’ That kind of thing. It was never a situation where anybody told on anyone.” The former student recently spoke with HuffPost about the party scene in which our current Supreme Court nominee spent his formative years. The conversation, which has been condensed and edited for clarity, is below. First, just generally, I’d be interested in hearing what you remember about the culture of Georgetown Prep while you were there. I guess you could call it a fraternity between a bunch of rich kids. All this shit happens, and then nobody really wants to talk about it, because if one person crumbles, the whole system crumbles, and everybody tells on everybody. And that’s not the way Georgetown Prep has ever been. And you and Kavanaugh were there at the same time? When Kavanaugh and I overlapped, it would have been 1982, and that’s when Kavanaugh was a senior. [Current Supreme Court Justice] Neil Gorsuch [who also attended Prep] would have been a sophomore. Now, as far as Gorsuch goes, he was so straight-up. He was like, “Golly gee,” one of those kids. And Prep has always been a very elite school with 400 students. One hundred per class — that’s all they would ever let in. Some of it was academic merit, but the rest of it was privilege. I didn’t have a lot of interaction with Kavanaugh, but I did know of Mark Judge, the other guy who was named. My first reaction I had was, “Oh, that guy.” Yeah, that seems to be the general sentiment around him. I mean, we were teenagers, but there was sex and drugs and more drugs and more partying and belligerence and disrespect, all going on at all times while I was there. Around 1986 is when Georgetown Prep really changed, and it went back to a more strict, Jesuit-based style. What prompted the change? A lot of the stuff that happened in the ’70s and the ’80s and the time that Kavanaugh was there and those parties that Judge described, it was common. That’s what happened all the time. One of the biggest people and one of the most influential people there was Doug Kennedy. He was one of the youngest RFK kids, and Dougie, as we called him, was the one who had all these huge parties. There were other parties, but everybody remembers Kennedy parties because they were in McLean at the house where Ethel Kennedy lived. The police would be there, but they would say, “Oh, are you going to the party? We’ll escort you.” That kind of thing. And, you know, they’re escorting a load of teenage kids in a car who were all going to underage drink and party. And as I remember, it was hundreds of kids — boys and girls from different schools, all private. No public schools were involved. And what would happen was a lot of drinking. There was one room full of drugs, everybody would be doing coke. And in another room, everybody would be smoking weed. And then in another room, people would be having sex. And there would be all sorts of unwanted stuff going on. What do you mean when you say “unwanted stuff”? These were the situations where, I think, you could talk to any prep school girl, and they would say, yeah, I was attacked or I was abused or I was touched or I was done in this improper fashion. And like I said, it was a fraternity, but it was also a situation where the girls wouldn’t talk about it later on, either. A lot of these women basically became kept women. Was the assault that Christine Blasey Ford described typical? Yeah, and a lot of that happened. And I think she said she was in a bathing suit, so that happened at Beach Week, I would guess. That’s where everybody would go down to the coast, over to Ocean City [Maryland], or Rehoboth [Beach, Delaware], one of the local beaches. And somebody would have a house, or somebody would rent a house, and then it would just turn into a free-for-all there. My friend, who went to one of the private girls’ schools, said she woke up with a guy on top of her. And this was not a situation where people would talk about it. They would just say: “Oh, well, how’d you do? How was your weekend?” “Oh, well, I got attacked.” And that was just normal then. It was an attitude where “No” didn’t necessarily mean “I’m going to stop.” It meant “I’m going to keep going,” and “I’m going to keep going because I’m privileged and I’m allowed to and I’m not going to get in trouble for it.” So the Kennedy parties were the most notorious. But every weekend there was some sort of party base during the school year where there was drugs, alcohol—which was typical, but we’re talking about 14-, 15-, 16-, 17-year-old kids. I remember hearing about [Kennedy’s death] after it happened in Florida. It was a small school and everyone was talking about it. It came out in the news, and it was all over The Washington Post. And everybody was like, “Oh shit, what happened? How is this going to affect us? Were we involved? Did this happen with us?” That kind of thing. And it was never a situation where anybody told on anyone. That was the weirdness about all of it. It was hushed up and cleaned up quickly because of the Kennedy connection. In the weeks after, no one really talked about it. How would you hear about parties or meet kids from the other private schools? Most it was based on the football schedule. Like, as a football team, we played all the other prep schools. That’s where all the parties started, and that’s where all the parties went. I don’t think it was something that we invented. I think that it was a culture that had been there for a long time, and then it just progressively got more abusive, and more and more and more and more abusive. How often did these Beach Week parties happen? They were considered a rite of passage. An end-of-the-year blowout. Partying at the beach was typically way more crazy than what happened during the school year. Inhibitions were thrown out the window. Fighting was a lot less common, but there was more sex involved and even more liberties taken because the parents were so far away. At least, that’s what I concluded from my experiences at Beach Week every year. It was a game of who could party the most, who could drink the most, who could get the most girls, who could get away with the most crazy shit. A lot of these kids at these prep schools had family homes at the beach. And if not, they rented homes for the week. Do you think people would have even remembered something like what Blasey described? Like, would it have registered?

Every weekend there was this whole idea of, “Hey, where are you going this weekend?” “Well, so-and-so’s having a party or someone’s having a party at their house.” Usually because their parents were gone — that would happen all the time. Then everybody would go over there, the entire class. Or at least, anybody who was cool or anybody who could party would go. Anybody who could get a ride, or anybody who had a car. And then all the girls’ schools in the area. If you talked to any of the girls there, they would all say, “Oh, yeah, of course there was a culture where assaults like that happen.” But was it something people ever talked about at the time? It was just a weird culture of how there was no telling ― you know, don’t tell, don’t tell. But then you’re getting all these 14-, 15-, 16-year-olds, 17-year-old kids doing whatever the fuck they wanted to do, with no repercussions. Drugs everywhere. Partying everywhere. Drinking — just whatever we wanted to do. It was unbelievable, off the rails. And that’s just how it was. Most of the kids I went to school with were either privileged or from foreign governments or whatever. They could get away with anything. One last question: Blasey said her assault happened at a smaller party — four boys in total. Were smaller parties like that common, in addition to these big ragers? It was more common to have at least 50 people there at a party. But these smaller parties ― usually what happened was that it was a Beach Week party, where the kids went to the beach. Somebody had a house, and whoever was there and whoever heard about the party went to the party. So there may have been as few as five people. There may have been as many as a hundred. It just depends. But that was not uncommon. As soon as I read the description, I was like, “Oh, yeah, that’s your typical prep school party, where it’s just a bunch of kids just going off the rails.” That’s the best way to describe it. Call the police. Let's hear the truth. Waterboard President Trump, since he's such a fan of waterboarding. Maybe we can find out his Russian connection. Maybe we can find out the real details about his sex with Stormy Daniels and the Playboy playmate. Also waterboard Brett Kavanaugh, see how many lies he said under oath. Maybe he will smile less if he goes to prison for his crimes. Democrats for Truth. Enquiring minds want to know.

Fake news: If Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court, President Trump has boasted that Trump and Kavanaugh will hold a party at one of Trump's properties, where they will engage in unlawful sex with 10 of the most gorgeous women they can find. The women do not have to agree, because the Secret Service has pledged to hold the women down. Professional gags and handcuffs will be supplied to Trump and Kavanaugh, to help encourage the women to perform unnatural acts. Sexual freedom, in private: Both Trump and Kavanaugh are strongly in favor of White Man's rights to sex. Grab them by the pussy: the rallying cry of Trump (and Kavanaugh) in private. Very, very sad, that Trump and Kavanaugh are forced to defend their reputations, when everyone with half a brain knows Trump and Kavanaugh are both practiced liars.

Republicans rallying behind Brett Kavanaugh. HUD Secretary Ben Carson tells the story of when Ben Carson was hit with a paternity claim. There are sexual predators out there, people. But there are at least two sides to every story: 1. The Republican side, which is the story of truth and courage. 2. The Democrat side, which is the story of slime-balls and sleaze-bags and predatory women who want to drag down into the muck our heroic Republicans. So, which side are you on: The side of truth and justice, which the Republican party holds dear? The side of slime-ball Democrats, who want to steal your life and your civil liberties and your money? Ben Carson tells the truth: the only woman he ever slept with was his wife: If he had sex with any other woman, it was while he was awake. My guess is that having sex with his wife was so boring, he fell asleep. But when he was fucking other women, the sex was so good, he couldn't fall asleep. So that could be why he says the only woman he slept with was his wife. Because I kinda doubt that he was a virgin before his marriage, and that he never looked at another woman. Even though, as a Republican, he is committed to sharing his ideals of No Sex With Anyone Except His Wife. Maybe Donald Trump can claim the same, even though most people realize that, for Trump, No Sex With Anyone Except His Wife is total fantasy. ------ ------ HUD Secretary Ben Carson defends Kavanaugh by bringing up time he was hit with paternity claim Trump Effect HUD Secretary Ben Carson defends Kavanaugh by bringing up time he was hit with paternity claim The HUD secretary called sexual predators "abominable," but added, there are "two sides to every story." by Dartunorro Clark / Sep.21.2018 / 4:09 PM PDT Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson on Friday questioned the credibility of the woman who says Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while they were in high school — by connecting it to his own story about a woman who sued him for a paternity test several years ago. Carson, speaking to a crowd at the Value Voters Summit in Washington, D.C., called sexual predators "abominable," but added there are "two sides to every story" — recalling the time an unidentified Florida woman claimed he was the father of her child and demanded a paternity test and child support. Ben Carson comments on allegations against Kavanaugh Sep.21.201802:43 "I said, 'I have three children and I support them very well,'" he told the crowd. "They said, 'No, there is a woman in Florida. She says you are the father of her son. And she knows where you went to high school, college, medical school, internship, residency, even has a picture of you in scrubs.'" He added, "I said anybody can get that. Are you kidding me? ... But, see, I had a secret weapon — the truth. I knew that the only woman I had ever slept with in my entire life was my wife." Carson has told the paternity suit story on several past occasions, including in a 2014 Washington Times op-ed, saying it taught him "firsthand how the blackmail threat operates." Carson, who was an acclaimed neurosurgeon, also claimed during his speech that the recent sexual assault allegation made against Kavanaugh by California professor Christine Blasey Ford is part of a "desperate" attempt by the left to smear him and control the ideological makeup of the courts. Ford alleges that Kavanaugh drunkenly tried to force himself on her while they were teenagers in Maryland in the 1980s. Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegation. "They don’t like what America is and what it represents, and they want to change us to another system," Carson said. "And in order to do that, there are three things that they must control: the educational system, the media, and the courts. OK? The first two they have. The courts they thought they had, and it was snatched out from under their noses in November of 2016." by Taboola

This is an old article from April 20, 2017. Trump has stated that he is separated from his former businesses, but that separation is basically a legal fiction: he is the only beneficiary and can withdraw funds at any time from the trust that owns the businesses. The trust is run by Trump's two sons. ------- ------- USA TODAY Trump condos worth $250 million pose potential conflict Nick Penzenstadler,Steve Reilly and John Kelly, USA TODAY Published 7:05 p.m. ET April 20, 2017 | Updated 11:20 p.m. ET April 20, 2017 A USA TODAY investigation discovered that anyone could potentially buy multimillion dollar condos from President Trump. The investigation reveals the most complete picture yet of the staggering inventory and value of Trump-owned real estate. LAS VEGAS — President Trump’s companies own more than 400 condo units and home lots whose sale could steer millions of dollars to Trump, a USA TODAY investigation has found. USA TODAY spent four months cataloging every property Trump's companies own across the country. Reporters found that Trump’s companies are sitting on at least $250 million of individual properties in the USA alone. Property records show Trump’s trust and his companies own at least 422 luxury condos and penthouses from New York City to Las Vegas, 12 mansion lots on bluffs overlooking his golf course on the Pacific Ocean and dozens more smaller pieces of real estate. The properties range in value from about $200,000 to $35 million each. Unlike developments where Trump licenses his name to a separate developer for a flat fee, profits from selling individual properties directly owned by his companies ultimately enrich him personally. Trump has never disclosed a complete, unit-by-unit inventory of his companies' real estate holdings or sales, nor is he required to do so by federal law. Trump says he's separated himself from his businesses, but the trust set up in January is run by his sons. Trump is the only beneficiary and can withdraw funds at any time. The volume of real estate creates an extraordinary and unprecedented potential for people, corporations or foreign interests to try to influence a president. Anyone who wanted to court favor with the president could snap up multiple properties or purposefully overpay. They could buy in the name of a shell company, making it impossible for the public to know who was behind the sales. The potential for conflicts is exacerbated by Trump's refusal to release his tax returns or fully separate himself from his businesses, breaking with precedent set by presidents going back four decades. Since Congress passed the Ethics in Government Act in 1978, all six presidents from Carter to Obama established blind trusts or limited investments to assets like mutual funds. Trump has not. The president is exempt from most conflict-of-interest laws that apply to others working in the federal government. He is not required to disclose when units sell or who bought them. He is barred by the Constitution from receiving gifts from foreign governments or officials. Trump’s assessment that the ban doesn’t apply to market-rate transactions is debated in lawsuits and among ethics experts. Regardless, it may be impossible for the public to even know who is behind purchase because the rules governing real estate transactions allow for shell companies to make purchases without disclosing who actually paid the money. “Anyone seeking to influence the president could set up an anonymous company and purchase his property,” said Heather Lowe, director of government affairs at Global Financial Integrity, a D.C.-based group aimed at curbing illicit financial transactions. “It’s a big black box, and the system is failing as a check for conflicts of interest.” Since Election Day, records show Trump companies have sold at least 14 luxury condos and home-building lots for about $23 million. Half were sold to limited liability companies. No names were listed in deeds, obscuring buyers’ identities. Since launching his White House bid, Trump’s companies have sold at least 58 units nationwide for about $90 million. Almost half of those sold to LLCs. That doesn’t count Trump's ownership of millions of square feet of some of America’s priciest office and retail rental space in Manhattan, Chicago and San Francisco. Buyers and renters of Trump properties include companies or individuals tracing to addresses in at least a dozen countries. The White House refers business inquiries to the Trump Organization, where four separate executives and spokesmen declined to answer specific questions. Bobby Burchfield, an attorney hired as an independent ethics reviewer for Trump Organization business deals, wouldn’t answer specific questions about transactions. Trump attorneys have argued that profits from individual real estate sales would route through a maze of Trump subsidiaries and eventually become mixed in a larger pool of undifferentiated money in the president’s trust. That, they say, makes a direct conflict from an individual sale more difficult to imagine. They do not consider sales of U.S. real estate to foreign investors as “foreign deals." Those in the business of selling Trump-owned real estate say business is up. “I get a lot more phone calls now that he’s the president,” said Shari Sanderson, a real estate agent that sells units in the Las Vegas hotel-condo tower. A mysterious bulk buyer A couple of weeks before the Republican National Convention, a Las Vegas financial firm filed paperwork to found Milan Investment Limited in Nevada. Days later, the newly minted company went on a buying spree. Milan spent $3.1 million over four months to buy 11 luxury condos in a shimmering golden tower near the Strip that Trump owns with friend and casino mogul Phil Ruffin. Trump Ruffin LLC collected the last of the money weeks before Trump was elected. Milan Investment tracks back to what appears to be an incorrect address, the strip mall office of a financial services firm. The owner, Thomas Sullivan, said he never heard of Milan Investment but said a federal “regulatory” agency visited his office in person asking similar questions. He declined to identify the agency. “We’re completely in the dark,” Sullivan said. “We don’t know if it was a mistake, or they used our address for some reason, but we aren’t associated with them.” On the deeds from Milan’s purchases, Eric Trump signed for the sellers. An accountant signed for the buyers, and deeds do not identify any people behind Milan. USA TODAY tracked corporate, loan and property records across Nevada, Texas and Canada to tie three names to Milan Investment. In Nevada, where rules let anyone form companies without identifying the owners, Milan’s officers are listed as Jun Xu and Qi Huang with an address at an office suite on the outskirts of Las Vegas. Additional documents underlying the sale give two more addresses, both million-dollar condos in Vancouver, for Xu and Huang. Canadian records indicate they own both and hold a license to rent one. The records list Xu as a “businessman” and Huang as a “housewife.” USA TODAY contacted every phone number and address found for Xu and Huang in two countries. Reporters also contacted every business associate identified in Nevada public records as having worked with the company or assisted with the condo buys, trying to reach Xu and Huang or find out more about them. Xu and Huang have not responded. One more name tied to Milan is Chen Huang of Sugar Land, Texas, who signed loan documents “on behalf of Jun Xu and Qi Huang” when they borrowed money using the Vegas condos as collateral. Phone numbers for Chen Huang in Texas were answered but disconnected after a reporter identified himself. Most Nevada real estate and legal professionals who handled deals would not answer questions. A lawyer who reviewed paperwork for the lender, Michael Wixom, said only, “We file the UCC paperwork and represent the bank locally. It’s all consistent with Nevada state law, and it’s not unusual to not know the name of the owners.” Reporters sent questions about the identity-obscuring real estate sales to a public relations firm representing Trump in New York, the Trump Organization’s marketing vice president, its vice president of sales in Las Vegas and Eric Trump. None of the inquiries was answered. The deal in 2016 makes Milan Investment the third-biggest investor in the Vegas building, behind Trump’s own company and Hilton Hotels, which owns 311 of the condos. Kathleen Clark, a government ethics expert and professor at Washington University School of Law, said there’s a strong argument for requiring disclosure of anyone buying real estate from the president. “They’re doing it through Trump companies, but nevertheless, if it’s going to benefit the president, I think the public has a right to know who’s paying the president,” Clark said. One solution: making the president subject to the same rules as other public officials. Who's buying from Trump? USA TODAY’s review of sales of Trump-owned real estate found dozens of transactions during and since the campaign involving buyers who have business in or connections with foreign countries, or are shielded by purchasing under the name of an LLC. None of the recorded sales prices appeared, on the surface, to be outside market value.

In February, businesswoman Xiao Yan Chen bought one of the president’s penthouses at Trump Park Avenue in Manhattan for $15.9 million, according to city records. Chen is founder and managing director of Global Alliance Associates, a New York City firm described on its website as “a boutique business relationship consultancy for U.S. companies seeking to establish a presence in mainland China.” She could not be reached for comment. A few days before Trump’s inauguration, a two-bedroom condo on the 55th floor of the Las Vegas tower sold for $639,000. The buyer of Condo No. 5507 is identified in deeds as Fashion Drive, a New York company named for the street below and formed days before the purchase. The only real person named in company's corporate filings in New York is Ivan Antonevich, a Ukrainian-educated pain doctor who did not reply to interview requests. It’s unclear whether he owns the condo, represents the buyer, or something else happened. As part of a federal crackdown on criminals using real estate to hide illicit cash, title insurance companies in a handful of U.S. cities must gather identity information and report all-cash deals above certain amounts to the government. Industry insiders said the opacity of most shell company real estate buys is for practical, legitimate reasons. “Privacy is a big driver of the LLCs, whether it’s celebrities protecting their privacy or foreign dissidents hiding assets from an oppressive government or law enforcement officers worried about their safety from criminals,” said Steve Gottheim, senior counsel at the American Land Title Association. Some investors in the Vegas building were easy to track down and willing to talk. One New York couple set up a company, SNJ Properties, to buy a unit in December. SNJ is owned by Susan and John Irwin of East Islip, N.Y., who bought a second condo in the building for vacation and as an investment. They said it didn’t have much to do with politics. “I’m a big fan of his, but the fact that Trump is president didn’t influence our decision,” said John Irwin, who owns Irwin Construction. Irwin, who met Trump at the hotel once, said he doesn’t worry about other people’s blind purchases of Trump’s real estate. “It doesn’t bother me. He’s a businessman, and that’s who we elected.” Trump’s leasable space in cities such as New York, Chicago and San Francisco bring in large sums as well. Commercial space at Trump Tower earned him almost $30 million in 2012, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission to back up a loan Trump took out against the space. Among the revenue: multimillion-dollar lease payments from the communist government-owned Industrial & Commercial Bank of China. The Chinese bank’s lease is one of several transactions flagged in a lawsuit against Trump by an ethics watchdog group, alleging Trump violates the Emoluments Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which forbids government officials from taking gifts from foreign powers. More deals ready to be made The White House and Trump surrogates have broadly contended that the president is not involved in his business deals and scoff at the idea that a billionaire tycoon could be influenced by individual real estate transactions in the six- or seven-figure range. The USA TODAY review of publicly available records — including figures provided by the president himself — shows that his individual real estate transactions add up and have substantially driven his income in recent years. Consider the Vegas tower. In his federal financial disclosure in 2016, the income Trump said he received from the Vegas venture is more than the revenue he reported from all but one of his approximately 500 companies. USA TODAY’s analysis of the 2016 report indicates Trump’s income includes at least $100 million a year from real estate sales and lease transactions. That number is probably higher because companies’ income is reported in ranges spanning millions of dollars. Trump and his daughter Ivanka have reported drawing multimillion-dollar incomes from Trump International Realty in recent years. Trump’s financial disclosure reported about $4 million in commissions in 2016, and Jared Kushner’s disclosure reports his wife earns $1 million to $5 million a year in commissions and fees from the firm. At Trump properties across the country, more deals are ready to be made. “We’re selling quite a few of those now,” Ruffin said of the partners’ Vegas tower, where he and Trump own 388 condos and penthouses. “It’s picked up, our volume.” Ruffin owns an adjacent lot and is interested in building another tower and casino there, possibly partnering with the Trump Organization. At 100 Central Park South, beneath a facade bearing At 100 Central Park South, beneath a facade bearing the words “Trump Parc” in gold script, placards recently filled the windows advertising “RETAIL SPACE FOR LEASE.” The rent: $1.3 million a year. (Photo: Steve Reilly, USA TODAY) In total, records show Trump and his family own 32 residential condo units, plus 82 additional smaller units of real estate, including commercial property and storage spaces across New York City. That’s where the biggest money transactions are in the making. Trump’s realty company lists one of his three-bedroom condos on the seventh floor of Trump Park Avenue for $7 million, touting solid oak floors, handcrafted Italian brass doorknobs, marble baths and “a sleek gourmet chef’s kitchen.” Also for sale: a Trump-owned seven-bedroom penthouse on the 32nd floor. The $75,000-a-month rent gets you “360-degree views of New York City’s stunning landscape.” At 100 Central Park South, beneath the facade bearing the words “Trump Parc” in gold script, placards recently filled the windows advertising “RETAIL SPACE FOR LEASE.” The rent: $1.3 million a year. Joanne Podell, the listing agent for Cushman & Wakefield, said that although there has been recent interest, the building’s powerful owner is far less important in attracting tenants as factors like foot traffic and size. “It’s a great location."

Man proves that Christine Ford was not the victim of a rape attempt by Kavanaugh. Except the proof appears to be faulty. So man deletes the thread. But good try at proving Kavanaugh's innocence. Maybe the FBI should investigate the man's evidence and theory. The man was a former clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia, so that, by itself, proves the man's expertise, since he was a clerk to a former Supreme Court Justice. The FBI and Donald Trump and Kavanaugh need to look into this, and declare victory over Christine Ford. ---------- ---------- Man tries to use Zillow to prove Kavanaugh's innocence and ends up owning himself Morgan Sung,Mashable Thu, Sep 20 6:29 PM PDT UPDATE: September 21, 2018, 9:33 a.m. ESTEd Whelan deleted the Twitter thread on Friday after serious backlash. On Friday morning, he tweeted the following: "I made an appalling and inexcusable mistake of judgment in posting the tweet thread in a way that identified Kavanaugh's Georgetown Prep classmate. I take full responsibility for that mistake, and I deeply apologize for it. I realize that does not undo the mistake." The original post appears below. This has to be a glitch in the simulation, right? Ed Whelan, a former clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia and conservative lawyer, tried to use Zillow to prove Brett Kavanaugh's innocence and ended up going down a deep, deep rabbit hole of a conspiracy theory. Kavanaugh, Trump's pick to fill a vacant Supreme Court seat, was accused of sexual assault by former classmate Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Although Kavanaugh's nomination was met with resistance, calls for him to step down intensified when Ford publicly stated that he assaulted her during a high school party. Although many people jumped to defend Kavanaugh, Whelan went way deep. Let's walk through Whelan's Twitter thread and attempt to unpack this mess. "Dr. Ford may well have been the victim of a severe sexual assault by someone 36 years ago," Whelan writes on Twitter. "Her allegations are so vague as to such basic matters as when and where that it is impossible for Judge Kavanaugh to *prove* his innocence." Using addresses found in a yearbook and details provided to the Washington Post, Whelan laid out four locations on Google Maps. Then, he says he was able to locate a possible house where the alleged assault happened on Zillow, which shows the floor plan of the house. According to Whelan, Kavanaugh's classmate Chris Garrett lived in that home at the time. Using the floor plan, Whelan reasons that Dr. Ford's account of her assault matches up with the house's layout. Then he says that because of the way the house is laid out, "someone leaving the house down the stairs and out the front door wouldn't be seen from the family room." He's casting doubt here, and suggesting it could have been anyone. Whelan then casts more doubt by implying Chris Garrett was possibly responsible. He uses a screenshot of a sleazy Facebook interaction to prove that Garrett was friends with Mark Judge, who was allegedly in the room at the party in question. Whelan even goes as far as to post side-by-side photos of the two men, claiming they look alike and could be easily confused. Spoiler alert: they both look like doughy bros as teenagers, and as doughy middle-aged bros now. "Kavanaugh categorically denies being at the gathering and committing the assault," Whelan writes. "Beyond his countless character witnesses from then and now, Judge and Smyth have informed the Senate Judiciary Committee that they recall no such gathering at which Kavanaugh was present." But then Whelan backpedals in an effort to not get sued by Garrett for, you know, publicly accusing him of assaulting Dr. Ford: Which is lawyer speak for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. "It is regrettable that private citizens are being drawn into this," he concludes his conspiracy thread, as if he didn't just drag a private citizen into this. "If the matter had been handled as it should have been, the Committee would have investigated the matter over the summer and resolved it privately to everyone's satisfaction without the smearing of Kavanaugh and the dragging the names of others into the public eye." Ford dismissed Whelan's Twitter thread in a statement to the Washington Post: His wild rollercoaster of a thread shot up to Twitter's trending list on Thursday evening and became the butt of the internet's jokes. But Whelan seems pretty adamant that he's cracked this case. "Bottom line: I believe that a fair assessment of this evidence powerfully supports Judge Kavanaugh's categorical denial," he insists on Twitter. Nobody tell him about the Denver airport, guys.

Twitter is impartial. That's why they allowed a tweet to expose Christine Ford's address and phone numbers publicly, even after hundreds of people reported the fact to Twitter's support team. Christine Ford has been bombarded with death threats and harrasment, and has gone into hiding with her family. Good move, Twitter. If you are really impartial, maybe you can publish the home address and phone numbers of Brett Kavanaugh. Or would you get sued by Kavanaugh and the Republican party for malicious intent? ------ ------ A Troll Doxxed Christine Blasey Ford. Twitter Let Him Back On Its Platform In Hours. HuffPost Jesselyn Cook,HuffPost Thu, Sep 20 9:14 AM PDT Twitter allowed tweets that listed Christine Blasey Ford’s address and phone numbers and called for her to be doxxed to remain online for hours, even as hundreds of people reported them to the platform’s support team. In that time, others retweeted the messages and copied them onto Reddit, further disseminating Blasey’s contact details. Since coming forward as the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, the psychology professor who lives in Northern California has been bombarded with death threats and harassment, and has reportedly gone into hiding with her family. Twitter initially let the troll who posted Blasey’s personal information back on its platform after less than a day. “Twitter banned me for 12 hours. I’m back lol,” he wrote Monday morning, then continued tweeting the details about the professor. Twitter suspended his account again on Monday evening. Twitter officials declined to answer HuffPost’s questions about why he was allowed to continue his doxxing campaign after his initial suspension, or why his offending tweets remained online for so long. “We do not proactively look for content that breaks our rules,” a spokesperson said. “The actions we take are not dependent on the number of reports we receive.” Doxxing, or posting someone’s private details online, is among the most common forms of harassment on Twitter. For trolls, it’s a quick and impactful way to abuse ― and in some cases, endanger ― their targets. Twitter prohibits the practice in its terms of service and acknowledges that it “may pose serious safety and security risks for the person whose information is shared,” but the platform is notoriously bad at addressing the issue when it occurs. Twitter relies on its users to bring abusive behavior to its attention, then it determines if the reported posts should be removed. The platform is often slow to respond even to urgent reports, and regularly allows malicious content to spread and gain traction before it gets removed ― if it gets taken off at all. The company spokesperson directed HuffPost to a tweet thread about new anti-abuse measures Twitter rolled out last year. “We’ve launched an improved version of the system we use to rank reports for our review,” it reads. “The system is now incorporating new signals to help us more quickly and efficiently identify content that may break our rules.” That approach, Twitter claims, should help prioritize reports of abusive behavior “directed at an individual.” Twitter’s spokesperson declined to comment on why hundreds of reports about a doxxing campaign targeting an alleged victim of sexual assault were unaddressed for hours under the new system. According to the profile for the doxxer’s account, which HuffPost is not naming or linking to so as to not draw more attention to Blasey’s personal info, he is a “Conservative, Republican and Trump Supporter” who lives in Philadelphia. HuffPost contacted a pastor by the same name who also lives in Philadelphia, and whose photos on Facebook and LinkedIn appear to match the Twitter user. The pastor confirmed that he owns the email address that was used to create the Twitter account in 2009, but insisted he’s never used the platform himself. He suggested someone had stolen his identity. This article originally appeared on HuffPost.

President Donald Trump admits he lies constantly. It's the only way to handle politics and the American people. But once he's finished with the Presidency, he might, only might, write a tell-all book in which he reveals some of the truths he has learned in his long history of dealing with women. Grab them by the pussy is the first rule. Go, Trump, defender of women everywhere. Trump believes in police reports. That's one reason he insists on having non-disclosure agreements with women. He even paid his first wife, Ivana Trump, to sign a non-disclosure agree. So she is not legally allowed to speak about her marriage to Donald Trump. Are there police reports about Donald Trump's first marriage? Maybe he wasn't married after all, since I can't recall reading a police report about his first marriage. Donald Trump says he won't believe the accusations against Brett Kavanaugh unless there is a police report. Because Brett is such a good man. A fine man. Just like Trump is such a good man. A fine man. Who, on the inside, is full of shit. -------- -------- Donald Trump Has A Very, Very Long History Of Not Believing Women HuffPost Sara Boboltz,HuffPost 11 hours ago After a week of exercising some restraint, President Donald Trump on Friday After a week of exercising some restraint, President Donald Trump on Friday went after Christine Blasey Ford, the California professor who accuses Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her when they were both teenagers in the 1980s. If the alleged attack was as bad as she says, the president tweeted, there would have been a police report, and she should produce that now. There are many reasons why victims of sexual assault do not report the incidents to police immediately or ever, including fear of retaliation, shame and, in many cases, the likely lack of consequences for the perpetrators. Trump himself has a long history of suggesting that women who do come forward to accuse powerful men of abuse aren’t telling the truth. Here’s a rundown: Trump has denied numerous accusations against himself going back decades. Jessica Leeds once sat next to the future president on an airplane in the early 1980s. Shortly before the 2016 election, she told The New York Times that Trump had groped her breasts and put his hand up her skirt. Trump denied the story. When it came out that Ivana Trump, the president’s first wife, said in a 1990 divorce deposition that he once raped her, he denied the incident took place. (She later reversed her story. Per a nondisclosure agreement, she is no longer allowed to speak about her marriage to Donald Trump.) Kristin Anderson said Trump put his hand up her skirt and touched her genitals in the early 1990s. He denied it. Jill Harth said in a 1997 lawsuit that Trump once attempted to rape her. Both he and his daughter Ivanka Trump denied it. Trump’s presidential campaign triggered an avalanche of other accusations of untoward behavior. Cathy Heller said he grabbed her and kissed her at his Mar-a-Lago resort in 1997. Temple Taggart said that was the same year he kissed her upon meeting her. Karena Virginia said Trump groped her breast the following year. Natasha Stoynoff said Trump forcibly kissed her as she was reporting a story for People magazine in 2005. Rachel Crooks said Trump kissed her in 2005, too, after shaking her hand and not letting go. Jessica Drake said Trump grabbed and kissed her in 2006. Summer Zervos said he grabbed her, groped her and kissed her on two occasions in 2007. Trump in October 2016 said the women speaking out against him were “horrible, horrible liars.” Neither he nor his spokespeople have ever budged. Trump said former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes was “a very good person” as sexual harassment claims piled up against him. After former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson sued Ailes in 2016 for allegedly terminating her for refusing his “sexual advances,” nine other women came forward describing many incidents of sexual harassment. One woman said the Fox News chief blackmailed her into performing sexual acts. Speaking to NBC News, Trump defended his friend, saying, “It’s very sad. Because he’s a very good person. I’ve always found him to be just a very, very good person.” Trump said former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly wouldn’t do “anything wrong.” The Fox News star was forced out of the network last year following accusations of sexual harassment. In a 2011 affidavit, O’Reilly’s ex-wife swore that he once slammed her against a wall and dragged her down a flight of stairs in their home. Speaking to The New York Times, Trump said O’Reilly is “a good person” and should not have settled the multiple harassment suits against him. “I don’t think Bill would do anything wrong,” the president said. Trump backed then-Senate candidate Roy Moore’s own denial of sexual assault allegations. In late 2017, the Alabama Republican stood accused of sexually harassing and assaulting multiple underage girls when he was much older than them. Trump at first emphasized Moore’s own denial of the claims. Then, at a rally, the president attacked one of Moore’s accusers, suggesting she might have tampered with a piece of evidence. Trump said “you have to remember” that former White House aide Rob Porter denied the domestic violence accusations against him. Porter resigned earlier this year after two former spouses said he’d abused them in incidents that allegedly included choking and punching. Without mentioning the women, Trump told reporters that Porter had done a good job at the White House and wished him well, saying, “It’s obviously a tough time for him.” “It was very sad when we heard about it,” the president said. “He says he’s innocent. I think you have to remember that.” Trump doubts women who accuse powerful men of abuse, that is, unless those men are not on his side. Directly after a tape emerged in which Trump had once seemed to brag about sexual assault, the then-candidate for president held a press conference with four women who had raised sexual harassment and assault claims against former President Bill Clinton, the husband of Trump’s rival for the White House. After women began coming forward last fall with disturbing allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein ― a frequent Democratic donor ― Trump said he was “not at all surprised.” Trump was also quick to pounce on then-Sen. Al Franken when a woman publicly accused the Democrat of sexual misconduct, saying that a photo she provided as evidence “speaks a thousand words.” “Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?” Trump asked. When it comes to abuses against women, it’s painfully clear on whose side the president always stands. This article originally appeared on HuffPost.

Fake news: The kind that Trump loves to spread. President Donald Trump breaks down in public and confesses he is Satan's emissary sent to destroy America. That is why Trump admires Putin and other strong-arm dictators. These despots are working for Satan. Trump, the leader of the Moral Majority for White Americans, reveals that the Republican party, which in public stands for moral behavior, is composed of bigots, adulterers, child-molesters, pornographers, and people of low moral character who fool the American voters with self-righteous speeches. Impeach Donald Trump, before he destroys America. Impeach Donald Trump and throw his family into prison, for the crimes they have committed. And make sure the judges who oversee their trials are not Republicans who will let the Trump family off with a slap on the wrist and a secret wink. Republicans, the party of American greed and hypocrisy. ----- ----- Yahoo News Network Minnesota Rep. Jim Knoblach quits campaign amid allegations [Associated Press] Associated Press•September 21, 2018 ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota state Rep. Jim Knoblach abruptly ended his re-election campaign Friday amid allegations of inappropriate touching from his adult daughter. Minnesota Public Radio reported the announcement came hours after the St. Cloud Republican's attorney, Susan Gaertner, denied the allegations in an interview with the station. She said the veteran lawmaker "does not want to drag his family through six weeks of hell." Knoblach's 23-year-old daughter, Laura, told MPR that he inappropriately touched her for most of her life, with her first memories starting when she was 9 years old and continuing until she was 21. She said the activity included kissing, licking and biting her ears. She said she confided in close friends, family and authority figures at her school and church about his actions for more than a decade. In a written statement, Jim Knoblach called the allegations "indescribably hurtful" and said he felt he had no other choice but to drop out of the race so he could work toward healing his family. "I love my children more than anything, and would never do anything to hurt them. Her allegations are false," Knoblach wrote. "I and other family members have made repeated attempts to reconcile with her in recent years, but she has refused." Knoblach, 60, is chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, which has jurisdiction over budget matters. The timing of his exit could make his seat, already a top target for Democrats, difficult for Republicans to hold absent some kind of court intervention or a write-in campaign by a substitute candidate. Dan Wolgamott of St. Cloud is the Democratic candidate. House Speaker Kurt Daudt, who's trying to preserve what he can of the GOP's current 21-seat majority in the House, said in a statement that he supported Knoblach's decision. The St. Cloud Police Department and Sherburne County sheriff's office began an investigation last year but declined to file charges. After exhausting other means to hold her father accountable, Laura Knoblach made the allegations to MPR on the record and supplied extensive documentation about her attempts to get help. The documentation included a letter from the Sherburne County attorney's office saying there was "insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Jim Knoblach had committed a crime." Laura Knoblach told MPR she first remembers her father coming into her room after she'd gone to bed. She said he climbed in and laid down behind her. "He would put his arm around me and not let me get up or get away and he would lick my neck or bite my ear," she told the station. These visits to her room, or similar kissing across her arms and neck and biting her ears while they watched movies on the couch, happened so often throughout her childhood and teenage years it became a defining part of their relationship, she said. Other routine behaviors, she said, including more than 30 instances where her father approached her from behind and pressed his body against hers in the kitchen, pinning her against the refrigerator or dishwasher and using his weight and strength to keep her from getting away. Jim Knoblach said in his statement that he wasn't willing to spend six weeks fighting with his daughter in the media. "Our daughter has been estranged from our family for some time," he said. "In late 2016 she made some extremely hurtful and untrue accusations on a Facebook post, which was briefly put up and then taken down. These accusations were fully investigated by Sherburne County, dismissed, and the case closed in April 2017."

Senator Graham doubts Ford's story. Says he will not ruin Kavanaugh's life over this story. My question: how will Kavanaugh be ruined by this story? The story is out there. But Republicans want to smear Ford, and say the story is a lie. So Graham is willing to smear doubt on Ford, say she is a liar. But Kavanaugh is a wonderful man, who should not be bothered by Ford's lies. So is Graham being fair? He is a tool of President Trump, the man who calls all women who bring accusations against him liars and low-life scum. But when a woman brings an accusation against a Democrat, that is a horse of a different color. Then the accusations are worthwhile, because they prove that Democrats are evil scum. Graham says Ford will be treated respectfully. This is after saying that she is a liar. What kind of respect is this? It's the Republican way of respecting their enemies: smear them with lies and doubts and whatever shit they can make up to throw at them. ------ ------ USA TODAY 'I'm not going to ruin Judge Kavanaugh's life over this': Sen. Graham doubts Ford's story William Cummings, USA TODAY Published 11:18 a.m. ET Sept. 23, 2018 Allegations of sexual assault by Brett Kavanaugh leveled by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford threaten to end his nomination for the Supreme Court. USA TODAY South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the 11 Republicans who sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, made it clear Sunday that while he is willing to hear out Christine Blasey Ford about her sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, he has not heard enough evidence to "ruin Judge Kavanaugh's life over this." "What am I supposed to do? Go ahead and ruin this guy's life based on an accusation?" Graham asked in an interview with "Fox News Sunday" host Chris Wallace. "I don't know when it happened, I don't know where it happened. And everybody named in regard to being there said it didn't happen. I'm just being honest. Unless there's something more, no I'm not going to ruin Judge Kavanaugh's life over this." "But she should come forward, she should have her say. She will be respectfully treated," he added. Ford alleges that Kavanaugh held her down, covered her mouth his hand and tried to remove her clothes after he and a friend locked her in a bedroom at a party in 1982, when they were all in high school. Mark Judge, the friend who was allegedly in the room with Kavanaugh and Ford, denied having any recollection of the party. And in an email obtained by USA TODAY, a lawyer for a woman Ford also said was at the house said she didn't know Kavanaugh and that she did not remember the party. More: Senate panel quietly investigating Kavanaugh assault claims amid testimony negotiations Graham repeatedly expressed doubt about the allegation during the interview Sunday based on the amount of time that has passed since the alleged assault and the lack of evidence. "This accusation has to be looked at in terms of our legal system, Graham said. "Everything I know about Judge Kavanaugh goes against this allegation," he continued. "I want to listen to Dr. Ford. I feel sorry for her. I think she's being used here." Wallace showed clips of Democratic Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Mazie Hirono criticizing Republicans treatment of Ford, but Graham wondered if "these two senators have an agenda that's related to their hatred of President Trump." "I'm trying to be fair here and get this thing done in a reasonable way," he said. Graham said that Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley "has bent over backward to make this happen" and that the Iowa Republican had met six of 10 conditions set by Ford's lawyer for her to testify before the committee on Thursday morning. He said Ford's team is still contesting the committee's insistence that only Ford and Kavanaugh testify, and that outside counsel be brought in to question them. "They contest those two things," Graham said. "If they continue to contest those two things, there won't be a hearing." "And that's it," he said, adding that if they couldn't agree to those terms that If they "means they really don't want to testify." "Bring it forward, I will listen," Graham said. "But I'm not going to play a game here and tell you this will wipe out his entire life." Wallace asked Graham if the Judiciary Committee Republicans, who are all male, wanted to bring in outside counsel to do the questioning because they feared "the optics" of them grilling Ford. Graham explained that they wanted to bring in a lawyer because "we've got 11 politicians who haven't done a trial in about 20 years. I thought it'd be really smart to have somebody come in who knows what the hell they're doing, to ask the questions, to be respectful."

The motto of the Republican party: Respect your enemies. Bury them in shit. Donald Trump, President and Leader of the Moral Majority for Whites in America. I want this woman outed, so good Republicans can fuck her over and make sure she never get a prominent post in either the government or private practice. She is obviously, an enemy of the state, since she calls a Yale professor a liar. And she is hiding behind anonymity since she is a coward who will not stand up for the truth and justice and the American way of life. ----- ----- http://www.bradford-delong.com/2018/09/y...-lying-huffpost.html « Why Would Anybody Sane Ever, Ever Choose Brett Kavanaugh Over Amy Barrett? | Main | » Yale Students To Prof Who Denies Coaching Kavanaugh Clerks: You're Lying | HuffPost Sara Boboltz and Emily Peck: Yale Students To Prof Who Denies Coaching Kavanaugh Clerks: You're Lying: "Yale Law School professor Amy Chua strongly denied that she told students that Brett Kavanaugh, now a nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, liked his female law clerks to have a certain feminine appearance, in a statement emailed to the Yale Law community on Saturday... ...Yet a woman who recently graduated from Yale Law School and received advice from Chua on interviewing for a coveted clerkship position with Kavanaugh, who sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, disputed the professor’s statement. “She’s lying,” the woman told HuffPost. The professor specifically told her not to wear a suit when she met Kavanaugh, the woman said, requesting anonymity for fear of career reprisals.... “I personally heard her state that it’s not an accident that all his clerks look like models,” a current Yale Law student told HuffPost on Saturday. “So I personally know that for her to say the allegations are 100 percent false is a lie, because at least that one is definitely true”...

I have been reading about Brett Kavanaugh. He now states he kept detailed calendars when he was 17 years old. And that he will give them to the US Senate. Proving that he did not attempt to rape Christine Ford. Therefore, there is no need to hold any further hearings: Christine Ford is mistaken: if someone tried to rape her, it was not Brett Kavananaug. The diaries prove it. Beyond a reasonable double. Why he waited until now to provide the calendars is a question: did he need the additional time to write the calendars, while he waited for Ford to accuse him? Although the calendars were written in 1982, does the paper and ink match tests that prove the calendars were written in 1982? And were the calendars kept in a police vault, notarized and sealed, so they could not be tampered with. The FBI needs to investigate the calendars, then give Kavanaugh a lie detector test, since Ford has already been given a lie detector test. ------ ------ Politics Twitter Roasts Brett Kavanaugh For Calendars He Claims To Have Kept At 17 HuffPost Andy McDonald,HuffPost 1 hour 17 minutes ago Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is providing calendars he kept in 1982 Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is providing calendars he kept in 1982 to the Senate Judiciary Committee to back up his denial of a sexual assault allegation against him, The New York Times is reporting. Kavanuagh’s team admits the calendars do not disprove the alleged assault took place, but say they also do not corroborate the allegations of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford. Blasey claims Kavanaugh pinned her to a bed and groped her when they were at a party in high school, and that she only escaped when his friend Mark Judge jumped on them. People on Twitter were quick to drag the nominee and his team for thinking a calendar kept by a 17-year-old Kavanaugh would be a viable defense. The Judiciary Committee has postponed a vote on whether to send Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the full Senate so it can hear from Blasey. The 51-year-old psychologist and professor from California has tentatively agreed to testify before the committee Thursday. This article originally appeared on HuffPost.

ABC News Top Dem on Kavanaugh accuser's credibility: 'What in the hell did she have to gain’ with allegation? ABC News QUINN SCANLAN,ABC News 7 hours ago A top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee said the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault is "a credible witness" who has been subject to death threats since coming forward with her allegation. “I think Dr. Ford has come forward understanding what she was going to face,” Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said of Christine Blasey Ford to ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on “This Week” Sunday. “I think it really speaks to her credibility at this moment. What in the hell did she have to gain by doing this?” “At this point, she's faced death threats. Her family has been moved out of their home. They're worried about the safety of their children. They're worried about security at the hearing,” the Illinois senator said. “You know, when you take a look at this in honest terms, I believe that not only Judge Kavanaugh, but certainly Dr. Ford deserves a fair hearing.” Ford's lawyers and the Republican leadership of the Judiciary Committee reached a tentative agreement Saturday evening for her and Kavanaugh to testify Thursday about her allegation, multiple sources familiar with the talks told ABC News. On “This Week,” Durbin said it could be either Wednesday or Thursday, adding, “at least that what I heard in a conference call last night.” (MORE: Before accuser testifies, McConnell predicts Kavanaugh will be confirmed) Ford alleges that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a house party when they were both teenagers in the Maryland suburbs in the 1980s. Kavanaugh has strongly denied the claim as a "completely false allegation." A Republican strategist and friend of Brett Kavanaugh who also appeared on "This Week" said Ford's allegation doesn't square with the Kavanaugh she and other people know, adding “there’s no evidence at this point to suggest that any shred of this is even true.” "The people who know him best over every phase of his life say nothing about what she has said comports with the way he’s conducted his life," said Sara Fagen, a CNBC contributor who was a senior aide and White House political affairs director to President George W. Bush, under whom Kavanaugh also served in high-level positions. Fagen said that Ford’s allegation “should be heard,” but also noted the impact on Kavanaugh.“This is a serious allegation, she is alleging a serious crime by a person and in doing so, you know, really questioning his reputation and potentially putting him in a terrible position over the rest of his life,” Fagen said. Stephanopoulos asked Fagan, “You've said categorically that the allegation against Judge Kavanaugh is false. But how do you know that?” “I know it because I know his character, and I know it because I have worked with this person in incredibly grueling situations in the White House ... I've socialized with him. I've been in large groups with him, small groups with him,” Fagen said. She added that she “never saw him drink excessively. He was always a responsible person." In the interview with Durbin, Stephanopoulos asked if Democrats might press for more information about Kavanaugh’s reported drinking in high school. Kavanaugh in a speech in 2014 recalled nights of heavy drinking while in law school, and in a truncated video clip circulated last week of a 2015 speech, he said of his high school years, “What happens at Georgetown Prep, stays at Georgetown Prep,” The New York Times reported. “That’s been a good thing for all of us, I think,” he added. In his high school yearbook, Kavanaugh listed himself as treasurer of the “100 Kegs or Bust” club, The Washington Post reported. Durbin said questions about the nominee’s possible high school drinking are “certainly relevant to the whole conversation. Dr. Ford has said that [Kavanaugh and another male teenager with him] were stumbling at the time that this occurred. And there have been a lot of things said about the alcohol that was consumed by the judge as well as by others in his school. That has to be part of any relevant questioning.” Ford told The Washington Post that Kavanaugh and the other male teen were "stumbling drunk" at the time of the alleged assault. Durbin on "This Week" also said he doesn’t think Ford has “been treated well during the course of” negotiations with the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Republican leadership over conditions for her to testify. Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, initially insisted on a hearing Monday on Ford’s allegations, though the tentative date has now been pushed back. Ford has also asked for an FBI investigation of the alleged assault, which has been denied. “Dr. Ford has said from the start, 'Let’s have the investigation; let’s find all the people who might have some knowledge of it,'” Durbin said. “It’s Judge Kavanaugh, the Department of Justice and the president who have said, 'No, there will be no investigation.'”
