We need your feedback! Hey everyone! We are in the process of developing a new PU & TBP newsletter. Oh don?t worry? it is not going to be some spammy waste of time. We want it to be a great additional tool to get information out to the participants. We often are approached with new deals for our users, but sometimes they are not a good fit for the site. This will be a great way to pass along those special deals to you all. Additionally it will be packed with new & hot content that should help stimulate more activity and participation on the site, making it an even better resource for you. Since we are working out all the details now, I figured now would be a good time to pick all of your brains. Please let us know what your ideal wishlist would be. What things do you like about other newsletter or email subscriptions you are currently receiving? Here are a couple more questions to get your juices flowing as you begin to think about this? How often would you like to receive the newsletter? Do you want it to be in simple text or HTML? What type of content would you like to see? New discounts? New sites? New Reviews? How much customization would you like? For example, the ability to choose news on all niches or just certain select niches you choose? Deals on items other than paysites? We get offered deals on adult toys, DVDs, lingerie & etc. What else would you like to see promotions on? Contests to win money or prizes? Other porn news outside of PU & TBP. For examples info on pornstars, porn consumer trade shows, general porn industry news? We really appreciate any and all feedback you can provide As always, thanks for using our site!!! Prefer simple text over HTML. What type of content would you like to see? Aren't new discounts, new sites and new reviews covered at TBP? So repeating that information in a newsletter doesn't seem to serve any purpose. | |

1- I think that the newsletter could be at least once a week or every 2 weeks. This way there should be enough content inside to make the work worth while. 2- I'd prefer in HTML but that would be fine if it's in text only. 3- I like your suggestion of new discounts, New sites and New reviews. 4- I don't particularly care about customization. 5- I would love to get deals for other products whether they are porn related or not. Of course if you get deals on DVD's then that's right down my alley since I still purchase these regularly. The only issue I might have with the deals is if they aren't really deals. An example would be if you get 5$ off a dvd but the distributor is normally more expensive than other distributors. It might be a discount on the price of his dvd but another distributor already sells it for less than the amount with the discount applied. 6- Yes, to contest where you can win prizes or moeny. Who wouldn't want to win money or prizes? 7- I like the idea of more porn news. I'm a member of 2 other porn forum and that's where I normally get most of my info on porn performers and different porn events. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

How often would you like to receive the newsletter? Monthly would be sufficient. Do you want it to be in simple text or HTML? Option for both would be best. What type of content would you like to see? New discounts? New sites? New Reviews? New discounts & sites would be good. Reviews are covered by existing resources. How much customization would you like? For example, the ability to choose news on all niches or just certain select niches you choose? That infers that it would be onerous to wade through it all. Is there really going to be enough content to merit that? Deals on items other than paysites? We get offered deals on adult toys, DVDs, lingerie & etc. What else would you like to see promotions on? Not really. Contests to win money or prizes? I thought you were being generous enough with that as it is. Other porn news outside of PU & TBP. First off, I just want to complain about this lousy site and poor customer service ... oh wait, wrong forum thread ... wrong forum ... wrong site. Never mind. Seriously, it sounds like an OK concept so here's my take on it: - A monthly newsletter would be fine. Anything more than 2 or 3 times a month usually just starts sounding like spam to me. - HTML would probably be easier on your end because you guys could in turn link back to pages on the PU/TBP site if necessary or if, for example, we wanted to read the official review of a site you're offering a special on. - I would probably create a sign-up page where the user could check which niches they want to receive information on (including categories for toys, clothing, dvd's, etc.). I think this would be easy enough to do and wouldn't require us to scroll through pages of material that might not interest us. - Contests and prizes? Sure, why not. I like free shit as much as anyone else. - Since the focus of PU/TBP is websites my default proposal would be to stick with what you do best and don't get overly sucked in with offers on toys, cloths, etc. because unless you monitor pricing on other sites my guess is that people who would want that type of stuff would know where to find it cheaper. In other words, don't just be another marketing avenue if can't offer something of value. I would probably limit my content to website specials of a limited duration or limited to PU/TBP newsletter subscribers. We already have the option to see the new websites posted on the TBP homepage and most of us regulars regard them as flotsam in a sea of porn mediocrity so I would say don't bother with those unless there's a raging good introductory deal to go with it. I would probably skip new reviews since we can readily find them here if we want them. Personally, I wouldn't spend much time repeating in a newsletter what is already posted at PU/TBP because then it starts leaning towards the spam side of email. - When it comes to other "porn news" I would skip that. There are other sites, blogs, twitter accounts, etc. that already do this and I would say that most of us users care mostly about the end product and not the industry news which tends to be self promotional in nature as opposed to informative. - Lastly, when you create the sign-up page for the newsletter in whatever form it takes, you'll need to restate your privacy agreement though you guys probably already know that. We like our anonymity here so if there is contest or if some response would link us to an outside sponsor I'd really like to know that and have it spelled out in that specific newsletter posting. Overall, I think it's a decent idea. Just keep it simple, keep it clean in appearance and stick with what you guys do best and don't try to become everything to everyone in the quest to fund Rick's Ferrari investment account  | |

I quite like the idea of a focus on new sites, new reviews, and new discounts plus competitions. It should be just a few hand picked ones so it doesn't border on spam. Personally I'm not interested in stuff outside of porn sites, like toys and lingerie, however the occasional industry report would be interesting as long as it isn't just big porn star/companies promotional stuff. Not sure about customization as I have broad tastes, and it would be nice to think everyone was getting the same newsletter. Anywhere between once a week to once a month would be okay with me. I'm hoping TBP take into acount the sort of sites and networks who are responsible for all the stuff we hate - the pre checked cross sales for instance, regional discrimination, and a number of those who have a reputation for dodgy stuff. If it's going to work and not be spam or counter productive, any established companies you are promoting need to have a very good reputation. As you probably realise it's going to ruin TBP's reputation if you end up promoting those involved with questionable practices. | |

I think a newsletter would be a great idea and one that I’d definitely subscribe to. How often would you like to receive the newsletter? I think monthly would be sufficient. That way it shouldn’t be a big drain on resources for the staff. But, if a more frequent schedule were possible and helped generate some buzz and revenue for the site then I’d support a more frequent schedule too. Do you want it to be in simple text or HTML? I don’t have enough knowledge to make a comment on this. What type of content would you like to see? New discounts? New sites? New Reviews? All of the above. I think monthly is sufficient and that the weekly drawings for prizes are also enough. Other than that, I don't think that I would get much out of the newsletter. Most of what you mention we already have. Perhaps you should just add some of your ideas to PU and increase its value as a resource. | |

How often would you like to receive the newsletter? Every 15 days. Monthly, it's easy to forget you signed up and flag it as spam. Weekly, it's too much. It would be nice to have it archived on site so people may know what to expect before signing up for it. Do you want it to be in simple text or HTML? Maybe you could offer both formats. Some sites let you choose. I don't have any special preference as long as you make sure it won't be flagged as spam and I'll have to fish for it in my Spam folder, set up a special filter just for you, etc. What type of content would you like to see? New discounts? New sites? New Reviews? I'm just too lazy too keep checking the What's Hot section on TBP even though I like it. Maybe a "what's really really hot" section in the newsletter? How much customization would you like? For example, the ability to choose news on all niches or just certain select niches you choose? It would make sense to be able to choose niches. There's a very underused feature here on PU: Favorite sites. I stopped using it because it took forever to load the page when I got over a 100 sites. I see now it works fine but it just lets me enter private comments. Maybe you could tap into that and send info in the newsletter on those sites whenever something happens on them over the last X days: new TPB/PU review, new PU comment, new discount, etc. | |

No else seems to have brought this up, but my email address with PU is my go-to porn address, aka my spam/cautionary/questionable address. In other words, I don't check it very often as it's sort of an email dumpster for me--no offense to any PU emails that make it there of course! Anyway I really don't check that address very often, and don't like to mix my porn and non-porn email accounts (makes it much easier to check mail at work  ), so I don't plan on changing it to the address that I do check throughout the day.Just the main issue I thought of as soon as I started reading the thread. But nonetheless it sounds like a good idea for us dedicated PU'ers. Monthly, with HTML (simple and straightforward, please), with new discounts and coupons, and not just strictly limited to sites, would all be good for this type of newsletter. Genuine discounts and promotions--no cross-sells, bait-and-switches, etc.--and useful news about the site and paysites in general (if something happens with a card biller, for example). And would it be possible to post them archived somewhere on PU after you sign in, so they're not just open to anyone? "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? Maybe a weekly email in html? You peaked my curiosity with "new deals that sometimes are not a good fit for the site" .. now I wanna see what you are talking about. I have nothing else to contribute except that I wouldn't be interested in bargains that had nothing to do with porn. | |
