Super Bowl XLVI

The Super Bowl is this Sunday. I haven't caught a game in ages but I know some folks go absolutely crazy over the Super Bowl. Not sure if they're really big fans of the game or just like the excuse for a good party.

So, anyone here have any special plans for Super Bowl Sunday?

And for those watching the game, who do you think will win? Former PornUsers Senior Administrator

My two favorite NFL teams both stunk this year so I really don't care about the Big Game. About the only reason to even bother watching, if I do, is to catch the commercials.

No plans. As far as the game, The Super Bowl is usually a super bore as the teams are often mismatched and the halftime shows are just plain cheesy. I have no preference in this game. I have a suspicion the Giants are going to lose big, however. Pats are still smarting from that last defeat and want to make sure history doesn't repeat itself. I can't stand Belechick, though.

Had a mad passion for the game in my youth -- when I was actively playing football, as well as other contact sports.
But now, I wouldn't walk across the street to join others viewing any sort of sporting event.
As it is ... Don't have a NFL team I care a rat's ass about, anyway (the end-zone dancers with their after-touchdown theatrics took care of ruining that for me).

Moreover.....(tidbits that go with Superbowl celebration)

Don't bet on anything lest I know I'll win, don't get toilet-huggung drunk anymore, got no favorite player, ain't much for talkin' football or following stats on team-performance.
I do, however, eschew wasting my time on perpetuating seasonal frivolities..... football being a classic example.

A party!.....now that's something different. But that dog ain't gonna hunt because how many women do we have attending anything when it's purpose has to do with "football?"

To all the PU football zealots out there salivating over the arrival of this Sunday's Big Game .... I say: HAVE A GREAT TIME... AN' MAY YOUR TEAM WIN!

Cleveland Browns fans packed their stadium for years. Not just sold out, but actually filled all the seats and backed their team. So, when Cleveland lost their team to Big Money and they came here to become the Ravens, I figured out that N.F.L. stands for No Fan Loyalty. From then on, I decided not to support the game in anyway. I'd been a die-hard Redskins fan for years but simply stopped watching the game... Sold probably $2000 worth of Redskins merchandise for a few bucks and took my interests elsewhere.

So... It's now the weekend and still too cold for fishing from the canoe. Time to go link hopping on the 'Net, looking for whatever I can find. If I had to pick a team, however, I'll say I hope the Pats win - just to watch one particularly loud-mouthed Giants fan I've had to listen to start crying and making excuses for why they lost. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

The Super Bowl isn't quite as in trouble as the Thanksgiving family dinner, but it has lost its luster now that it has become a tired old Big Business institution. It's not really even about the game; it's about money. The media is trying to generate excitement and interest, as usual, for us braying little sheep who need it to tell us what to do.

I'll think that once the pre-game show starts, I'll switch off the tube and spend my time reviewing my personal accounts, just to keep with the spirit of things. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I'll watch it, but I might just multitask as usual during game. I'll see all the commercials the next day on the news/fb/youtube so I'll just listen to the tv, getting up to watch the instant replays.

I'm thinking the Giants will win. Gotta love a team with more heart than talent! And, I usually root for the underdog. Plus, I think they've beat the better teams to get here.

In NOLA the fans use to wear these over their heads, but now they've turned into the WHO DAT Nation rooting for their . This year they needed to get over the hump, but only got a lump for their troubles. So with my I'm going predict that Manning wins another big one as we watch his brother retire. The end of another season comes to a close - can't wait for draft day. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee.

If you're going to lay her head over the pool table and fuck her throat, get your fucking hand off her throat!

I don't have any big plans - I'll watch the 2nd half of the game, I'm pretty sure. I'm not a big football fan, but the Super Bowl is an event and is frequently entertaining in various ways, including the crazy commercials.

I'm not a huge sports fan so I won't be watching the macth except from time to time to see how the game is going. Since I'm in Canada then I can't actually watch any of the American Commercials directly on TV unless the company that is advertising in the US is also buying air time in Canada. I'm stuck at watching the commercials on the net later in the evening or the next day.

My vote is for the Patriots. Long live the Brown Coats.

I'm missing the sport gene.
The only sport I have ever watched in women's volleyball (pro volleyball which is now defunct, not beach volleyball)

I sometimes play golf but would never watch it.

Baseball? It's like watching grass grow.

Football? More brutal than a gangbang video.

Soccer? Boring

Basketball? They should spot each team 100 points and let them play for 2 minutes.

Hockey? The only thin more stupid are it's fans

I burn Superbowls to a disc and spend an afternoon fast forwarding through the game to see the commercials.

That being said, oddly, I love movies about baseball, football, golf and hockey. Go figure! unless life also gives you water and sugar, your lemonade is gonna suck. Edited on Feb 04, 2012, 02:30pm

You're not the only one. I'm more of a fan of boxing and MMA than I am those team sports, but I really enjoy movies about team sports - Moneyball, Remember the Titans, Field of Dreams, etc. I also really enjoy HBO documentaries about particular rivalries, etc. These films and documentaries concentrate what's exciting and involving about these sports in ways that watching the games themselves don't, for me.

I was hoping for the 49ers in it, but I guess its the patriots for the game.
Brady reminds me of Joe Montana allot so thats who I am for.
I am not a keen Giants fan anymore. Eli, is not the type of quarter
back I like, at least not yet.

I will be watching the game, a friend of mine has a new commercial running will be cool to see it.

Plans, sober, with Chips, dip, a frosty coke and BBQ wings.
Hanging with my sons and my wife.

GO PATRIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Football is an American institution just like hotdogs and apple pie. I recall as a kid the black and white games. Watching with my uncles.
I grew up teaching my kids about it and now we have a bet today .
I agree its commercialized, but what isn't to be honest?
Nothing in life is free anymore every site you visit or participate in is in it for money. And there is nothing wrong with that. Free enterprise makes the USA grand. Since 2007 Edited on Feb 05, 2012, 01:02pm

Now that's Honesty. LOL I agree about BasketBall its fun to play but boring for me to watch. Maybe cause I rather be on the court.

I like Baseball but going to a Baseball game is a true experience I think.
Nothing compared to it on TV. Football I enjoy on TV more. Since 2007
