Porn Users Staff Notes I generally love this site and it does a hell of a lot things very well. One thing that I feel would enormously benefit from some optimisation is the way staff feedback on our comments/reviews/reply's is fed back to us. Unless we go through the process of clicking on the little number next to our name, then on the approved feedback link we would never know if something we posted was controversial or pushing the boundaries of the rules or in some way worthy of comment. Myself being borderline OCD, I always check the reaction to my posts but I'm wondering how many of us miss this feedback? When we get a reply from another user we get the big flashing thing-er-me-gig at the top of the screen, maybe staff feedback should have something similar? The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? Frank Zappa | |

Where IS the staff feedback going? I've received e-mail from staff, but not for quite a while, to my knowledge, and I rarely check that e-mail account. | |

If you click the number next to your user name, then one of the feedback groups below there will be feedback, although unless it is a crappy review, I have rarely seen more than approved or point earned or some such thing. If you use the Edit Profile link (at the top of the page) it'll get you to a page where you can control many aspects of your PU experience. I think there's something there that might help you out ... though admittedly, it won't add a big flashing thing-er-me-gig at the top of the screen. If you look at the section for: Preferences > E-mail Prefs ... you should find an option for: "Notify me when my review or comment is officially approved" If you check that then the system should send you an email each time a submission is approved. That email should have a link to the actual submission; with the submission you should find any staff remarks. Hope that helps. I wasn't aware of this until maybe a year or two ago when I emailed Khan about a review I wrote and he replied that he had been sending me messages that my reviews were straying from the required format. That's when I learned about the staff comments. Now that I know about it I check after each review I post just in case there's an issue. I'd highly recommend doing this. | |

Thanks Chief.... appreciate your wanting to help. But as you already know, because of my ongoing struggle trying to figure out, find and/or utilize different rules and features set up within the PU system -- all of which other members seem to handle with ease, but always somehow sail right over my head -- prompted me to throw in the short reply. Bouncing off all that with a simple "huh" was moreover done for comic relief rather than elicit an actual answer. | |

This is the way I went about it but only for reviews. It was not until recently that I noticed staff comments don't just apply to reviews but also replies and I assume comments too. Anyway, lets hope this topic raises awareness as, to paraphrase one of my favourite books, "Knowing where the comment is - that's the first step in reading it" The problem with the world is stupidity. Not to diminish the "comic relief" factor in any way, but ... A wise man once said: --- Argue for your limitations and sure enough, They're yours --- Of course, sometimes it may be that the instructions are more detailed than is helpful for you. I recall when the subject of staff notes came up once before, for a poll I think, I wrote some fairly elaborate instructions on how a user could get to them. All of which could have been replaced with the simple method described by slutty in post #3 (above) of this thread. Anyway, the bottom line is, if there's some aspect or feature of PornUsers that you can't figure out, I'm happy to help if I can.
