It's time to pass the torch. (major announcement) Lady and gentlemen of TBP and PU. I’m happy (and sad) to announce that thebestporn and pornusers is officially under new ownership. As of this week, our parent company, Ranks.com, has signed a purchase agreement with Rabbit’s Reviews to manage and takeover both web-sites. This is the very first announcement btw. We wanted you to know before anyone. The official press release will go out tomorrow. It’s very emotional for us in a lot of ways. The review space has been our home for so many years now (since 2003), and we take a lot of pride in all our work and its success. I never would have expected both sites to thrive for over 12 years. As most of you know, we’ve been moving our focus toward our beastly endeavor MyPorn.com. The initial plan for MyPorn was to widen our scope and to bring an improved review process, in addition to a next gen movie and forum platform. However, as the enormous project evolved, we realized that to be successful, we can’t try to do too much. MyPorn has to define itself with clarity. In the end, it was clear that MyPorn is purely meant to be a modern movie platform, and we’re very excited to make that leap. I really want to thank and express my gratitude to all of the users that made TBP and PU what they are. Trusting us to provide this resource in your lives means so much. We used every last resource we had left to keep TBP and PU going. It’s been uncomfortable to watch the sites slowly trail off the last couple years. You get what you put in though, and our efforts were spread too thin. The fact is that our burn rate (monthly expenses) is now at an all-time high with MyPorn requiring more and more staffing/resources. This acquisition comes at the right time and is a win-win for everyone, including you all as users. I’m putting just as much trust in Rabbit to take our sites to new levels we’ve never seen. The transition will be subtle and will take time. Both camps are already working very close to take over management and add new reviewers. Maggie will be writing reviews throughout the month from our side. We’ll be training their staff on our processes and virtually handing over the keys through August. Even as review rivals, I’ve been friends with Rabbit now for almost a decade. Rabbit is truly the best man for this job. I’m confident he’ll keep the integrity of our reviews, and give the proper attention that our users deserve. I hope they prove me right and re-energize this community while keeping its intelligent and positive spirit alive. I’m very excited to see what Rabbit has in store. He’ll be joining this thread to hopefully share some of that vision. Our new journey is just getting started, and I know we have something really special with MyPorn. I can’t wait to pull the curtain on this massive construction site ya’ll have been hearing about for way too long. I shake my head when I think back to all the announcements and timelines. I can’t stand when companies continuously push back product launch dates, and here we are that exact situation. All I can do is ask for your forgiveness once we do finally launch. If you’ll have me, I’ll be right back here looking for Alpha testers soon enough. I love you all very much, and this is just the beginning. Wow! I don't think any of us saw this coming. PU is a great community of civilized people who share some common interests. I hope we don't lose this. But I have to agree that the community has been in decline for a while. I'll stay positive and hope that this will bring a resurgence to PU. So I assume this means that there won't be a user-generated part within the new MyPorn site? | |

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Mantas, aka Rabbit. I started RabbitsReviews in 2003, around the same time that Rick started TheBestPorn. As Rick mentioned, we've been friends for many years now and despite our competing sites, we've worked together closely on solving many important issues to both us and our surfers, such as identifying shady operators and scammers, pushing sites to be more transparent, negotiating for lower prices, etc. Our relationship was always based on trust and mutual respect. I've been a lurker on this forum since its very start and have closely followed the discussions regarding the future of TBP. Like many of you, I also thought it would be a great shame if TBP and/or PornUsers were to cease to exist due to Rick's new project. I greatly admire the courage and confidence Rick has shown when it comes to the success of MyPorn.com; it was a gutsy move to let go of TBP, so he and his team could focus 100% on the new site. I sincerely wish it succeeds beyond their expectations as this industry desperately needs new ideas and new products that put the customer and user experience first. I, and my whole team, am extremely proud to be able to continue the legacy of TBP. Rick, Khan and the rest of his team have done a fantastic job of creating unique sites and we intend to continue running the sites with the same philosophy, dedication, and transparency. While we have quite a few changes in mind for TBP and PU, most won't be noticeable to you (but they will be posted here or in the news section). They are basic housecleaning tasks, which are overdue as the sites have been neglected for a few years now. Let's not deny it: both sites need to be modernized and brought into the mobile present. This will be a major task and will require a lot of simplification. But that's at least a year down the road. For now, we will focus on taking over the day-to-day operations, increasing review production, adding new discounts, etc. In the coming weeks, we will be consulting you all, through the forum and polls, on what you would like to see happen to TBP and PU. I know the raffle was very popular. I hope to hear about other ideas you all have that will help this community become more active again. Please don't hesitate to message me here, or in private. This week I will be introducing my team who will be taking over from Khan, Ken and the writers. Of course, I will be poking my head in from time to time and Rick and his team are always welcome to post and keep us up-to-date on their new project. | |

I love this site very much. I care about 3 things. 1) Getting good discounts on quality sites. 2) Reviews being accurate and unbiased based on pay for play. 3) The forums on PU staying put. Can you address these three things? I wish Rabbit and his team all the best with their new venture and let's hope they can rejuvenate PU back to it's former glory, let's face it this site has never been the same since they ditched the weekly raffle. As a photo collector I can't say I'm particularly excited about the MyPorn project, I get the impression that it's going to be little more than a glorified tube site now the reviewing side of it has been dropped. | |

Thanks for taking the time to pop in here and introduce yourself. Since you've lurked here for a while you probably get the sense that there are a lot of us who want this site to succeed. Some of that is selfish because this is possibly the most civilized forum on the internet - of any niche. This isn't a great analogy now, but 15+ years ago when print newspapers were much more relevant readers took a personal interest in how the paper went about its business. Some people almost felt as if they had an ownership stake when all they did was pay for a subscription. I think there are likely many of us who feel that kind of connection to TBP and especially PU. If you're open to suggestions, please consider the value of user-generated reviews and comments. I respect the work that professional reviewers do, and I rely on those reviews every time I join a site, but often a professional reviewer isn't drilling down into the site as deep as a recurring member might be. For example, I tend to binge-download for the first few days of a membership and on several occasions I've hit download limits that the gang at TBP didn't hit because they didn't spend a day downloading like a mad idiot - as I did. Reading your post here gives me a lot of comfort that we're in good hands. I'll back you up and I know most other members here will too. I'm looking forward to seeing where you'll lead us. | |

One of our worries when considering this purchase was whether this devotion will remain with Rick & his team leaving. But I can see now what matters most to you all and I am sure that we will earn your respect and trust with what we have in store for the two sites. | |

Well, not really a surprise, given the old management's tangental project, which like my friend tangub, really doesn't appeal to me. I have to say I am quite relieved that this forum especially, will not evaporate into the ether. I have not posted here much of late, but if there is constructive interest shown by the new management, I will certainly be encouraged to participate more. I'm hoping things will look up around here soon.  Cap'n. I was at first amazed that a site like PU would ever come into existence, and since it has I've been very grateful for it along with TBP. It's also been pretty amazing that PU has carried on in pretty much its original form for 8-9 years. I'm looking forward to what happens here in the future, having read the reassuring news from Rick and our new manager, Rabbit. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England. | |

Good luck to you Rick. And to Khan as well. I've had a lot of fun over the years on PU and TBP. I talked to Rabbit a long time ago in an email. Maybe 2005 or so. I would like to say I have some ideas to help things here at PU, but I've used most of my creativity on remodeling our house. That's the bad thing about not watching as much porn. I'm now watching HGTV with my mom and wife and spending free time learning about backsplashes and playing with my power tools. My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it. It is nice that Rabbit is now going to be part of Porn Users. I have worked closely with both Rabbits and Vegas Ken's team and they are both beyond reproach. I am excited my relationship  with Rabbit's will be growing and I am super happy Vegas Ken has kept me in the loop with the new project as well. I see great things happening for both sides.
