Do the Webmasters acutally listen to our complaints?

Hi All; Just thought I'd get your reaction or feedback as too Webmaster actually listen to all the legitimate complaints about their sites? I've been using various porn sites for about 5 years now and in that time have complained about 3 times with absolutely no action take by the site to correct my problems, in fact only 1 of the sites replied to my e-mail. Right now I am having a problem with Assholefever.com about some content which isn't downloadable got a reply but nothing changed and the clip is still there. Seems like its just blow the guy off and continue on as before. Reading the comments I've seen some Webmasters have replied to various critisms of their sites and have wondered it the problem was ever fixed and the person who complained was satisfied with the changes. Imagine if we boycotted the pay sites who refused to make changes we asked for (never happen of course)its nice to think about. I'll be interested in the feedback if any on this topic. Hi Robin,

Well some good, some bad. Same as most things in life.

My experience is that there are two distinct types of webmaster.
Those that are focussed on making money & those that want to put out the best material they can.

If you have the former, you might as well move on.
If the latter, at least give them the opportunity to correct any error.

I may be wrong here, but I would put the latter at around 30% of Webmasters.....

Just a guesstimate. ;0)

I am happy if I am having a problem with a site (trying to log-in, trying to find a file that's supposed to be at the site, trying to download a file, whatever), and the tech support answers my email about the problem.

I haven't sent any emails to the webmaster himself. Just to tech support.

And many times, in spite of advertising 24/7 tech support, there is no reply to my emails at different sites.

Hi Cap'n, thanks for the reply, I guess with the amount of money involved in these sites average of $29.95 USD its a cash cow and one would think that maybe it could be seriously kinked if enough of us got pissed off enough to cancel our memberships at the offending sites.I just cancelled at porncom.com cause of the poor search engine and slow downloads. Your wondering about webmasters is a good reason to be on this forum. You get to see which sites respond and which ones don't. In cases where complaints are actually resolved, you can usually find some mention of the resolution in either a review or a comment.

If you're having a problem with a site, I would say to post a review or a comment here. Who knows? Maybe they'll respond to it. But getting people to boycott a site seems unlikely. There are sites out there that have pulled every trick in the book to separate you from your money and have yet to respond to any question that's been put to them. But people still sign up there. As the old timers here will know, this is mostly a reference to my one-man crusade against Brazzer's. Look at the reviews and comments here about them and you'll see that customer service and tricks with credit cards don't seem to matter much. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

As I said I've complained 3 times and had 1 answer and no positive action taken,so my answer is to cancel the site. It pisses me off that the services paid for are not delivered and it would be a very satisfactory feeling if some of us could organize a mass cancellation of the offending site (wishful thinking of course, but who knows) Robin68

Ha ha ha that's why I'd rather bitch here (on comments and forums) rather than e-mail technical support. The porn.com guy answered my complaint on here and was pretty cool about it, but a few days later the problems came back again and then went away again.

So yeah, I agree, now I think it's just best to unsubscribe if a web site has too many bugs (like porn.com). A few bugs I can live with, but anything that interrupts downloading what I want or logging in... it's time to say bye-bye to that web site and maybe come back when other PUs say on here that they are fixed.

Oftentimes I think they ignore us because they don't know how to fix the problems themselves and don't want to admit they don't know what the hell is wrong with their site. In other words they aren't professional webmasters with CS degrees and they use a lot of buggy open source javascript and AJAX crap they don't know how to use)! Edited on Mar 28, 2010, 04:43pm

I had an issue with 21Sextury right after they switched to their new network. Although I could log in and view the content. My memberhsip was tagged as a trial so no way to download a complete scene. There was some back and forth with their tech dept for a couple of days but finally the problem got resolved. I don't know what your particular situation is but I know they are still having some issues and this may be one of them.

I still consider 21Sextury to be the best network on the net. Long live the Brown Coats.

Some of them really do listen, and even respond by making improvements to the site. I've had that experience with a few. Nubiles, for one.

Then there are the ones that simply don't agree with my suggestions. One solo site girl, for instance, didn't think her site should post images larger than 1200 px because she thought it would be too hard for users with slow connections. I thought, "What about the users with fast connections?" But I didn't press the matter. Maybe I should have.

Finally, there are the more negative ones, who either just ignore you, try to make fun of you, or get hot under the collar.

But as others have said, it's like it is with anything else. It's not surprising, considering how many sites are out there. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

Some may listen,
but do they hear.

I can not say how many post and polls that ask about the guys talking ..... YET ........... The guys still mumble on and on.

I actually have deleted allot of stuff just because the guy become more of a vocalist then the girl.

I have written other sites and they talk about change but seems they never get around to it. Since 2007

I have to say that the last 5-6 years of progress on my main website (SGC) has been mostly driven by comments and suggestions from users. Obviously not everything that is requested is viable, legal or sensible, but there have been excellent ideas for games, forfeits, stories etc. which have been incorporated into my site. SGC's members' forum is an integral and important part of the site - I'd hate to run without it.

As to complaints, I sort out any that occur myself as I don't have the resources to afford a 24/7 support team. Thankfully I rarely get complaints but it's taken years of fine tuning the site to get to that point. My site relies on members staying month after month so I can't afford to let complaints go unanswered or unsolved.

One issue I do hit quite often is when a member suggests a change that they believe is simple when it would actual mean massive changes to the structure of the site. They don't always believe my reasons for not adopting suggestions! Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

It's ANOTHER: SOME!
During the years the experience of most PUs have been, that webmasters of certain sites are very much aware what's going on here..
And there are - bottom line - two kinds:

1) Those that follow the reviews/inputs/threads here at PU and LISTEN to what the paying user has to say - AND are helpful, too - if problems - like webmasters at Twistys, Nubiles, MetArt, Teendreams and EroBerlin, just to mention some...

2) Webmasters who certainly follow our inputs, but only act when PUs have criticism - but give no or little help...

(Maybe this is narrowed down, but so be it)

I dig the first ones - no wonder.. "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

Agreed that the best web-masters listen to their members and improve their sites as a result - particularly the webmasters at ALS Scan, Twisty, Nubiles, Naughty America, TeenDreams.

Dumb webmasters react to any criticism with some defensive BS and don't improve their sites at all.

Sometimes in the past I've sent emails to webmasters/techsupport BEFORE I joined a site to check for this very problem "Do you answer emails?".

Many don't reply and I simply don't join. Jay G

If your're not familiar with a site from former membership, I think Jay G's idea is very fine! "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

That's a good idea unless your e-mail provider is someone like AOL. I routinely find I cannot reply to people on AOL as AOL just bounce my e-mails back to me. Thankfully most people use better e-mail services, but I'd hate to think I was losing potential members because of something I cannot control. Hey, Viv Thomas has, too! They're releasing new photo material in 2400px. I never thought I'd see the day.

Now if someone could get Earl Miller to finally move up from his 1200's ... I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I think its a real easy concept, the Site owners etc should
try using their own site?
I find it more careless then not, when in todays age they
have a site you can not surf without a military conquest.
That and files. Its like many have no clue.

1. NO we do not want to download in 10 cuts.
2. no we do not want to have to download a picture at a time zip the suckers please.
3. There is no excuse for poor designed sites, if this was 1997 I'd buy it. But owned a server from 2000-2007 and it was hard then only cause software was expensive and servers slow an dial up and dsl were barely cutting it.

I put it this way, hey owners, you do not have to listen, but I also do not have to spend my money at your site either. Since 2007

With regard to your interesting inquiry, let me begin by saying: "I feel your pain" -- exemplified in my case against a non-responsive Website called Hypnogirls.com., where not only were my inquiries ignored, but I was left floundering aimlessly through flaws too numerous to fill this page, the least of which was a postage-size video screen and a few surprises conveniently left out of their pre-member promotion (one of which was forbidding and blocking any attempt to download any of it's material).
It was also one of those automatically renewable sites, which seemingly hides the cancellation button.
Although this reply offers no solution, it should leave you with the knowledge that you're not alone.....you have lots of company.
