IS YOUR STATE DRIVER'S LICENSE TSA COMPLIANT? YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED A TSA COMPLIANT DOCUMENT TO BOARD A COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE OR TO ENTER A FEDERAL BUILDING, WITHIN A FEW YEARS. I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA. TO GET A CA DRIVER'S LICENSE, YOU MUST SUBMIT TO: YOUR NAME SIGNATURE PHOTOGRAPHED AT THE DRIVER'S LICENSE BUREAU FINGERPRINTED (THUMB PRINT) RESIDENCE ADDRESS GIVE BASIC PHYSICAL STATS (HEIGHT, WEIGHT, EYE COLOR, HAIR COLOR, SEX, DATE OF BIRTH. THE CA DRIVER'S LICENSE IS LAMINATED. HAS A HOLOGRAM. IT HAS A BAR CODE. IT HAS A COMPUTER GRAPHIC (DIFFERENT FROM A BAR CODE) TO BE SCANNED. IT HAS A MAGNETIC STRIPE (LIKE A CREDIT CARD). IT HAS AN EXPIRATION DATE. BUT IT IS NOT TSA COMPLIANT. WHAT THE FUCK? WHAT MORE DOES IT NEED, TO BE TSA COMPLIANT? Edited on May 19, 2017, 03:05pm

OK. I SEE ONE REQUIREMENT: DHS has required the use of RFID chips in its Enhanced Driver's License program, which the Department is proposing as an alternative to REAL ID. JESUS, YOU NEED TO WALK AROUND WITH A RFID CHIP, SO THE GOVERNMENT AND THE POLICE AND WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE CAN TRACK YOUR MOVEMENTS, TO BE ALLOWED TO ENTER A COMMERCIAL AIRPLANE OR FEDERAL BUILDING? 1984? POLICE STATE? DONALD TRUMP TRAMPLES ALL OVER ANY LAWS AND RULES AS PRESIDENT, BUT THE COMMON CITIZEN IS TREATED AS A POSSIBLE CRIMINAL THREAT?

The federal REAL ID Act of 2005 has caused a lot of states, including our state of California, to need to redesign Driver's Licences. They require a Enhanced Driver's License, which has California looking into compliance with a RFID chip. Only Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, and Washington are currently issuing EDLs. People without EDLs will be unable to fly commercially, enter Federal Buildings, or enter military bases as of January 22, 2018, but extensions are available. But by October 1, 2020, no one without a REAL ID EDL will be able to fly or enter federal facilities. The law was passed in 2005, so it isn't a Trump issue. It was a reaction to the 9/11 attacks. It is troubling that by 2020, the feds can track you through your EDL. You don't need to have an EDL to drive, vote, get federal benefits, get health care, or participate in police or court activities. You can still use your regular driver's licence to enter Western Hemisphere countries. You will need one to fly or enter federal buildings that require an ID. I don't plan on upgrading my current driver's license to an EDL if I can avoid it. Being barred from flying is a great excuse never to have to travel and visit people I don't want to. But likely I will be forced to upgrade when I renew my license. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself." Edited on May 20, 2017, 10:30am

I'm due for a new license this October. We get a new one every eight years. I suppose it will have all the bells and whistles every agency wants. I'm sure they know everything about me already, so no sense worrying about hiding anything from the Feds. Of course no one knows my spare bedroom is packed with crates filled with lacy panties. Opps!! Did I say that out loud? Warning Will Robinson Edited on May 24, 2017, 11:13am

WITH A RFID CHIP, IF YOUR NEW LICENSE HAS ONE, THE FEDS (AND THE LOCAL POLICE, I ASSUME) CAN NOW TRACK YOUR WHEREABOUTS 24 HOURS A DAY. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY CAN TELL WHEN YOU MOVE FROM THE BEDROOM TO THE BATHROOM, BUT THEY CAN DEFINITELY TRACK WHEN YOU LEAVE YOUR HOUSE, WHERE YOU GO TO, AND ANY STOPS IN-BETWEEN.

Your cell phone already tracks everywhere you go. But I am not obligated to carry one. I am obligated to carry a driver's licence. It is odd that you're more worried about the government being able to track you than a private company. The government has accountability in the form of laws, regulations, and political change. Private companies have no accountability whatsoever. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

IF YOU LOOK AT THE HISTORY OF WHAT THE U.S. GOVERNMENT HAS DONE TO SOME WHISTLEBLOWERS, YOU WILL SOON REALIZE THAT THE LAWS THAT PROTECT PRIVATE CITIZENS HAVE VERY LITTLE PROTECTION. OR READ ABOUT HOW POLICE CAN SHOOT AND KILL UNARMED CIVILIANS. AS LONG AS THE POLICE CLAIM SELF-DEFENSE, IT'S RARE FOR A POLICEMAN WHO KILLS AN UNARMED CITIZEN TO BE PROSECUTED, LET ALONE GOING TO JAIL. IN THEORY, THE GOVERNMENT HAS ACCOUNTABILITY. SO DO THE POLICE. IN PRACTICE, IF A POLICEMAN TELLS YOU TO MOVE ALONG, YOU'D BETTER OBEY. JUST COMMON SENSE. THE LOS ANGELES POLICE MOTTO IS "TO SERVE AND TO PROTECT". WONDERFUL IDEAL. Laws in general are little protection. No one is obligated to obey the law. There are just ramifications if you break them. That's how civil society works. But at least there are laws about how government can surveil you. There are consequences if they are broken. Tech companies have no such restraint. I live in Silicon Valley, and a lot of my friends work in the tech industry. They are all concerned about government surveillance, but don't care at all about giving tech companies a thousand times more information than the government collects. Laws don't protect you. Absolutely no one has to obey the law. There are just ramifications if laws are broken. That's how civil society works. Government surveillance is accountable in that there are laws that exist, ramifications for breaking those laws, and that people can elect representatives to change laws should we so choose. Tech companies are totally unaccountable. Very little they do is regulated by law. And there is absolutely no way for the people to hold the tech companies accountable. People should just relax. SLEEP The government is your friend. OBEY There is no reason to get upset over a little chip in your license. CONSUME As for the police and federal authorities, they are there to assist you. MARRY AND REPRODUCE No need to worry about that. SLEEP "Dogs think people are Gods. "They Live" is a great movie. Classic fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David. Was an even better book. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

They Live is even more relevant today than ever before considering what is going on. "Dogs think people are Gods. Cats don't as they know better." - Kedi (2016) Dogs have masters; Cats have staff.

I LIKED "DARK ANGEL" (ALSO TITLED "I COME IN PEACE"). BETTER ACTORS, MORE BELIEVABLE ACTION. MUCH BETTER MOVIE THAN "THEY LIVE", IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.

"SLAVE GIRLS FROM BEYOND INFINITY" WAS AN ENJOYABLE, LOW-BUDGET SCI-FI MOVIE. A REMAKE OF THE "THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME", IT HAD A FEW TOPLESS SCENES OF LOVELY GIRLS, SOME HUMOR, A GOOD SCRIPT, AN EVIL VILLAIN. I DON'T REMEMBER IF THE GIRLS HAD A RFID CHIP FOR THEIR SPACESHIP DRIVERS LICENSE, HOWEVER.

The American public was traumatized by 9/11. Many were willing to trade liberty for a sense of security. Now, almost 16 years later, they realize they are no more secure, but the liberties are gone anyway. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."

"They Live" is universal. The message--that the lot of man is to produce, obey, and serve complacently--is the same throughout history. It was as true in the time of the Pharaohs and the Ancient Greeks as it is today. The rich and the powerful rule, the rest are ruled. It's why the Golden Rule is "He who has the gold, makes the rules." It's always been true, and will always be true. Well, I finally get one over on a sci-fi movie. I'll have an RFID driver's license, but space aliens didn't. Lucky me. "A man talking sense to himself is no madder than a man talking nonsense not to himself."
