With the grain About a year ago I wrote a forum post asking what you would like to see more of in porn and what you see too much of in porn: https://www.pornusers.com/forum/forum_thr...ad.html?threadid=623 Have your thoughts or the industry changed at all in the past year? I was also curious who does go with the grain out there? As RagingBuddhist mentioned porn is a business so someone is buying the plastic glam porn at Vivid and BangBros. Are you one of them? Do you enjoy the breast implants? the tattoos? The grunting dudes giving the facials?

A damn good question, though I'm not TOTALLY sure what you mean with 'plastic glam porn'? - and again I think I got a pretty good idea, still. Ok - Vivid is OUT for this user and so is bangbros, Reality Kings and alike. With 'plastic glam' I can agree with the idea, that these site are just 'too much' - I could easily join a club here which kind of bans these site from this users sphere - well, it's already done - hate those sites with the stupid audio deals, that we all know about. Ok, still: I like some boobs-jobs, if it's done 'nice' - alas the cute Lupe Fuentes had her done by some quack, but the boobs of Christina Bella (just an example) are just great. Tattoos - HATE them - and the last question: No way! "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle" Edited on Apr 24, 2010, 07:16am

I agree some boob jobs are OK if they fit the model and are made to look as natural as possible. There are also some not so great looking natural breasts that are not good for porn.

I sometimes think that we get a skewed picture in this forum of who likes what or who doesn't like what. For some unknown reason most of the regular contributors dislike intensely: implants, tattoos and grunting dudes which makes one wonder why do they keep producing this garbage? I have a sneaking suspicion that there is a silent majority of the membership of PU (and of Porn Users in general) who do like these things, otherwise they wouldn't be so ubiquitous in the porn world. Brazzers, BangBros etc. would have bitten the dust long ago if there weren't tons of folks who just love those big boobs (enhanced or not), etc. Trouble is the silent majority tends to stay silent so we'll never really know.

If you go to Google and try a few phrases like "Hate silicone tits" and "fake tits suck", you'll see that the disdain for those disgusting, plasticized attachments (yes, a biased description) isn't limited to just a few people. The topic comes up on just about every porn related forum I'm on, and it does seem that most people would rather not see 'em. But I've also heard from "the other side". A couple of guys I worked with told me they don't care how they got big, they just like 'em big. So, I guess it's guys like that, along with the porn industry figuring that, if it's selling, everything's okay, that we get stuck with whatever's being sold. On the bright side, the link that pat362 put up, about Hollywood turning the tide and putting a thumbs down to implants, might be a sign of better days to come. Tattoos are probably going to be hard to get rid of. As long as they're fashionable out there in the real world, the pool of models the sites have to choose from will, no doubt, have to include tattooed models. Unless tattoo removal gets better (and cheaper), that's really going to suck come the day tattoos are no longer in vogue. We'll be stuck with all those fucking ink canvases (pun intended) for years. I don't know what to say about the grunting guys and the damn facials. Gonzo gave us that crap and, as long as gonzo sells, I think we're stuck with those too. I sure would like to see something change - I like the sites I join, but four or five sites for the rest of my life will be like eating the same thing for dinner every night. It'll get old as hell. This reminds me of the episode of M*A*S*H where Hawkeye is fed up with a choice of liver or fish for dinner every day and he gets the whole mess tent chanting, "We want something else! We want something else!" :Begin dream sequence: Maybe we need to email every webmaster on every site we see and invite them here so we can tell 'em enough is enough already. Wouldn't it be nice if "the clique" here at PU wound up revolutionizing the porn industry? :End dream sequence: Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

I'm glad someone else realizes this. The people around here may not like all those things, but from what I've seen around, most people really don't care. And it looks like the sales numbers go in the entirely opposite direction (for example, the highest selling porn movie of the past 15 years (Pirates) doesn't feature anyone with smaller than a C cup, and most of them are fake). Sure, it gets brought up at some point in a lot of places, but usually the people talking against it seem to be just a loud minority. Me personally, I don't mind implants as long as they're done well, could care less about tattoos for the most part, and tend to stay away from the porn where the guys act particularly "goony" (and I think some of that sentiment is just projection and a small amount of jealousy anyway). P.S. - If anyone ever wants to see what they're up against, look around this place for a while for a real eye opener: http://www.brazzersforum.com/

Up into the mid to late 90's all I ever knew about porn was from VHS/DVDs I purchased from CA based companies like Wicked and Vivid. Back then I never even considered natural or amateur girls in porn. I was more attracted to the models that were thin with reasonable sized, well done implants and minimal plastic surgery in other parts of the body but that was as "natural" as it ever got. Starting in the early to mid 00's I moved to the Internet and started seeing some of the Eastern Euro porn available and there was no going back. To their credit there are some US based porn producers out there that are catching on to the amateur/natural looking trends. I've found some really good US sites in recent months.

To whodoyathink: What I get from the Brazzers Forum is the fact that Brazzers has 350.000 plus members, of whom roughly 850 contribute to the forums. In other words, a silent majority of 340.000 plus who never make their views and preferences known in a forum. Just as I thought. These abominations (to me) wouldn't continue to thrive if there were no market for them. Edited on Apr 24, 2010, 07:11pm

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_membe...oes_met-art.com_have At this time MET's membership exceeds 930,000. Nearly 80,000 new members join each month. Think of the $$$ they are making. I know this because i am close to a one of their webmasters. Its an Incredible business! >>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<< No date is given for the statement, and I don't know how to check its accuracy. But most Met-art models are B cup or smaller, so the silent majority probably includes the "loud minority" at PU.

I haven't seen any major changes in the biz so my thoughts are still the same. The only thing that I find different today from a year ago is that many studios have stopped producing new content or they only come out with a movie every few months. While some studios simply don't exist anymore. Long live the Brown Coats.

But if the "silent majority" wasn't thinking the same way as the people on the forums were, don't you think the content would have changed over the past, I don't know, year to appease them? What I see when I look at a forum like that is basically more of a representative sample than a loud minority. Edit: And that member count more than likely isn't the amount of people that are currently members of Brazzers. It's the amount of people that have ever signed up for their forum. It seems to be a fairly common premise that tastes become more extreme as a person ages. That certainly hasn't been my personal experience. I still enjoy now what I enjoyed in my adolescence. I am certainly more outspoken & my tastes may have refined but they really haven't changed that much. I have always been a fan of the slow tease from any attractive lady that is prepared to perform it. Have to get that pay-off of full nudity though! It seems to still be woefully undersupported, especially considering I appear to be far from alone in my preferences. Cap'n. I'm the same as you on that one, Cap'n. I've seen a lot of more extreme stuff in the past few years (goes with my job ) so I'm pretty sure I know exactly what I like. My tastes haven't changed much since I was a teenager. The only thing I've noticed is my age range of choice has gotten older but I guess that's a natural side-effect of getting older myself. There is popular porn that I really don't care for - Pirates is a great example - porn features have less and less appeal to me because they seldom care enough about their story to put anything into it, really, and their sex scenes tend to be piss-poor as well and Jesse Jane - no thanks - skeletons with big boobs are not my thing. There is popular porn that I like a lot - Jules Jordan, Erik Everhard, Evil Angel - all that stuff is quite successful and I think that stuff is frequently quite good. It's also a lot of what people posting in this forum don't like - "unnatural" fashion - more stripper-wear than anything usually worn on a trip to the mall - a lot of styling in the make-up and fashion - no great hatred of fake boobs, lots of cum flying about everywhere, grunting guys, etc. As much as I dislike Brazzers' bait-and-swith business practices, when they have performers that I like, such as Amia Moretti/Amia Miley/whatever the fuck she's calling herself now, they do great work with them - and their vids look sensational. But big boob porn babes are what sells a ton more than the young hot babes with natural bods, unfortunately. There are directors, such as Jenna Haze, who have a no-fake-boobs casting policy, though Jenna says she'll probably do a Big Fake Boobs DVD eventually, but that is rather rare. So you have the Madison Ivy's of the world saying, "OK, it's time to get big fake boobs so I can continue to work as I fit less and less into the school-girl thing."

Sometimes I wonder if it's not just marketing that gets the masses to join sites like Brazzers and BangBros. Maybe they get their sites ranked high on the Google search and when some married guy that sneaks on to the Internet quick just joins the first thing that pops up.
