It looks like a lot of hype as to Putin actually dropping his wife for her, however he has brought a bunch of seriously beautiful women into political office. Putin might be a bit scary, but has some nifty hiring practices. Also, you might have been having trouble finding articles about her because of the "hyphen", her name is "Alina Kabayeva", no hyphen. She is also listed as a "one-time" nude model, and as far as I can tell that was technically nude, but not showing of the good bits.
