How do you unsubscribe from a thread? Sorry, I can't figure it out.

I don't think I've ever subscribed to a PU thread. I don't even know how to. What difference does it make, if you are subscribed, or not? Do you get sent emails from the PU site each time someone posts at the thread? Could you explain with more details just what you are asking about? You could use the "contact us" hot link at the bottom of each PU web page, to ask PU staff about the issue.

I didn't subscribe to the thread in question. I responded to it and I suppose that's how I got subscribed. I wouldn't give a hoot except now I get an email every time there's a response to it. And it gets a ton of responses! Guess which thread I'm talking about

Near the top of each PU page, there is a hot link labelled "Edit Profile". Click the hot link. Scroll down the web page that opens, and it gives you choices about your PU membership, how you want PU to handle your account. Questions you answered, emails generated automatically, etc. Under the "Forum Setup" label, there is a "Preferences" label, with 2 boxes: E-mail me when a new message is posted in one of My Threads. E-mail me everytime a new thread is created. I'm guessing you might have checked the E-mail me when a new message is posted in one of my threads. So make sure the box is un-checked, if you don't want emails notifying you about new messages on your threads. Is that what you are talking about, with this thread?

Sorry. I'm still a little slow today. Are you talking about a PU thread? Anyway, most spam has an un-subscribe link at the bottom of the spam. It's a bad practice to hit the un-subscribe link, for a lot of reasons. Much better to move the email to the spam box, and delete it from there. You can also use your email program to block the sender, if you want all messages from that sender to be blocked.

I'm guessing there are various ways to "subscribe", the ways listed from your profile, by lk2fireone and you can click on "save to my threads" at the bottom of the thread's original post. If you've done that, "save to my threads" changes to "delete from my threads", so that would be the way if you've subscribed that way. My first time I jacked off, I thought I'd invented it. I looked down at my sloppy handful of junk and thought, This is going to make me rich. - Chuck Palahniuk

Thanks for the responses. I never would have thought to go to the original post to stop the subscribe. Learn something new every decade. -)
