Anyone else use headphones to watch porn Might sound like yeah I've been using them for years but it never really crossed my mind lol until recently I got some with a headset to skype and living in my house the walls are pretty thin so when watching porn on the tv rigged up to my computer I've just always had the sound well down so no loud moaning was heard. well just clicked with me why not see if the headphones worked a couple of weeks ago and wow its improved my enjoyment tenfold, I can now turn it up and actually hear the girls moan to my hearts content and conversations and dirty talk. Thats weird I just bought my first pair of wireless at Amazon. Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless Headphone System. About 36.50 and free shipping. I i have used wired, but, being a dumb ass the phone would ring or something and i'd get up and yank the cord out, so I went wireless. the Sony MDR-IF240RK Wireless are inexpensive because they are Infrared. The bad news is they are line of sight and work like a remote control would you have to be around 12-20 feet from the receiver. The good is these are not 2ghz like many and your neighbors won't be able to hear them. I have a nice police scanner and have picked up stuff like that. Well they were watching BigBang theory not porn. I like these but as I am finding in research of any wireless you have to be careful of player volume and out put volume. For best quality and so I do not have to switch I hooked up my headphones through my sharp surround multi sound system w/a remote. So I can listen via my wireless headphones from the TV, the PC or the Stereo. I can watch porn on my TV from my pc and hear it or how ever I choose. Or from my PC and hear it. Or the dvd player and Music obviously works. I must have 200ft of wires and monitor cables running but after done makes a nice clean easily controlled system. I have it set up on my PC so my porn library can play by model or niche I choose. I love the headphones and wireless is the only way to go the convenience is worth what you pay. If you are willing to fork out $100+ they make some nice headphones with better pads and longer range. I didn't need anything more then 20 feet, and I tend to be in the same room I listen and see porn in LOL. So Infrared is fine. Since 2007 | |

Hi Cybertoad Yeah wireless does sound good, maybe have to invest in some of those now then, these one were only £15 and I had a long extension lead for them so it not too bad but wireless would be far better. Sounds like you have a good system going with your porn library, its one of my annoyance is is porn does take a long time to manage and keep all backing up and files were they should be, I'll have to donate some time again to going through lots of stuff and try and edit them to the right directories and niches. Yes, been using them for years.  Not solely for porn, but also because I had a young family & didn't want to disturb the kiddies when listening to (loud) music & gaming. I would add a word of caution with wireless headphones. Yes, they are great, but start wandering around the house with them on & you get some funny looks.  Cap'n. I haven't bought speakers for my computers for ages because they can cause embarrassing moments when opening a video. It's headphones all the way. We even use headphones for our TV because we live in an apartment and the walls are thin. This way we can have our favorite shows as loud as we want and the sound certainly beats that of most TV speakers, which tend to be pretty pathetic. | |

I made a simple system for myself. I made folders for niches and labeled them in 1 2 3 class as to quality and favorite. like BJ 1 2 3 . I also made special folders for models I like and place videos there as well. Another class is high HD I do not down load a ton of HD because most files can go up to 2 gigs. But there are some that the detail is awesome so I kept them. I do not have near the collection many of my fellow pu's do. I am a semi-collector / connoisseur and pick and chose what I will take from a site. I used to strip mine when I joined and soon ended up with 5 porn drives. I since then and a break re-thought what I was doing with the porn and decided to go for quality and enjoyment. CT Since 2007 | |

I've always hated headphones. I've never really worked out why but wearing them always makes me feel really claustrophobic. This would have been a good poll question as it seems divided pretty equal. I hated headphones until I got my wireless. I mean its bad enough to fumble around with anything while you are setting the mood, and yanking the cord and it pulls out and you here moans as loud as I could yell. We not good. The wireless makes it fool prove or in my case idiot prove. I wish they made good quality wireles ear buds but for fidelity movie watching they sound tinny according to reviews technology is not theer with mini headphones. Since 2007 | |

It also may be because it's damn near physically impossible to block out background noise without completely surrounding the ears. Ear buds may be handy but they don't overcome the way the human ear works to pick up sounds, which is also why they can lead to more hearing loss than headphones since people overcompensate by cranking the volume. I am always aware of the difference in quality between a good pair of headphones that surround the ear and ear buds in just how much white noise bullshit I hear. It doesn't necessarily take a high quality pair of headphones to get good sound. We ordered ours from Amazon for around $ 8.00. They are light, they are not heavily padded, which is a plus for us, and the volume can be adjusted which is important if two people listen at the same time. I use a splitter to connect both my wife's and my headphones to the TV and we truly get amazing quality stereo when watching HD. Some outside noise might get in without the extra padding but since there are only two of us living in the apartment that's not a problem. | |

The one thing I did add about the wireless set I bought from Amazon is the cradle you put it on after use recharges the included rechargeable battery, last longer then I have found out yet. And I have had them on up to 4 hours and the charge holds. Since 2007 | |

Wow yeah it does seem some like them and others find they might be annoying with not hearing anything like a phone. I guess it comes down to if you don't have a problem with neighbours hearing it and you can have the sound moaning away in all its glory then headphoneless is the way to go but those who can't have the moans so loud, and with some girls that can be quite loud then a pair of headphones I find is great, it really adds to the movie pleasure when you can listen to them turned up, I see what I've been missing all these years with having the sound turned low and finger on the volume incase it got too loud. Yeah, he was pretty sexist (there were already more progressive writers around when he was alive) and he never married, so take it all with a grain of salt. Or don't take it all, since I've never been married and generally don't speak to kindly on the subject...  However, I would like to think I would be able to talk to my partner about nearly anything and at length if so desired. I mean if you can't communicate how are you going to get along? Hell, even sex doesn't seem to work in porn all the time!

That was very cool, Messmer. You shared what I hope many others will take from it. I took substantial time off from PU and this was done to think about my life and my wife and who I am in this relationship with her and porn. A simple realization came about that porn is not real and my relationship is. And I can not jeopardize a reality for a fantasy. I think we ( my wife and I) are much closer since my time break from here last year, I take some time to hang out with you guys when I am not spending time with her. When she is here, I spend time with her. And today we work opposite shifts so I am on here with my coffee hanging out and seeing what my PU Pals are doing and up to. I now enjoy PU and porn as a hobby, I used to watch porn every single day for hours. Now I watch it maybe 3-4 times a week when I am not busy. I find sometimes the banter in here is fun and seeing what others think about porn is cool. I didn't quit porn I just put priorities that I and my spouse could live with. So now porn can actually be fun and rating sites and doing that is interesting. I too found out Messmer, that real people are the best part of reality. And Porn serves a purpose, for me it just cant be the only purpose I have to get up. I have much more fun now with PU and my involvement here. I feel more relaxed and just around enjoy it most times. Of course, he could have meant it in a cynical way but if he was sincere then he was sincerely wrong. If you have been married for over fifty years it's more likely that there is the usual patter of small talk about daily concerns and children and grandchildren, or the latest on the news, with the wife doing most of the talking, and the husband making little noises of assent rather than deep discussions about various subjects. That was taken care of during the first thirty years or so! If you think of this "talking with" however, as something that takes forms other than oral communication ... like the holding of hands ... or a gentle stroke ... or a glance that's full of gratitude for simply having her/him, then, of course, communication is always there.  | |

Which in our case means spending as much time as possible with each other, yet at the same time granting the other the "space for himself/herself" that everyone requires. | |

It would be a blessing if the ignorant that view porn as for the perverted sickos with no life or goals, were to take a look at the posts that enter a purely porn oriented website like PU. I have looked at many other sites over the years. And the topics that pop up on here are just plain cool. Why yes we all like our pleasures, and will discuss boob size and roundness of stars ass  . There are real post from real people. I wonder if the founders of PU ever saw the public input part of the agency; that being PU evolve into an intelligent and intellectual forum and website, with people who give allot to motivate a healthy use of the site and the sites we join. There are some great links to other sites that help if a person needs it. Only watch with speakers when I'm with someone else, 90% of the time use head phones probably paranoia. As an added point I'd add I wear 'em with only one ear cup on (a la djs) years of people startling me whilst gaming led me to do this. | |

For those who like the idea of headphones but don't like that feeling of isolation, I recommend getting what's called vertical in-ear headphones. They don't shut out the outside world like cups and earbuds do. They're very lightweight, and still allow you to hear things around you. While I wouldn't call them audiophile quality, for the price I paid (~$20), they sound surprisingly good. The fold up style also makes for a nice portable package when paired with an mp3 player.
