Classic Porn in Blu-ray Is there any classic porn made prior to 1990 which has been or will be remastered in Blu-ray format? My favorite one will be Bad Girls (1982/Michelle Bauer, Anna Ventura, Victoria Knoll) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CZCSZM It's one of the greatest classic and I remember watching it in laser disc. It looked pretty sharp and vibrant. I am sure it would be even better if they remastered it in 1080p. | |

I guess it's unlikely that these were shot on film, but rather on tape - and going back that far, I doubt the original format has the resolution to warrant hi-def. So although it could be put on blu-ray, it wouldn't look any better than a DVD. I'm not that well up on video formats - am sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong! | |

I`m pretty sure that Bad Girls was filmed on 35mm and not video. It was transfered to VHS/BETA but the original film is still celluloid. That said I don't think it would be a good idea to try to remaster for the Blu-Ray market. I'm not sure how good the transition would be and you can be certain that no studio can afford the cost it would take. They would never make their money back. I'd love to see classic done on DVD. So many great porn movies have been lost to us or can only be found on streaming sites where the quality is poor at best. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Restoring 30-year old film to HD quality is a very labor-intensive project, needing skilled specialized labor. No way anyone would come close to breaking even on their costs. It's a nice idea, but sorry to say no one's going to do it. | |
