How are you watching porn? So, what kind of viewer are you? Are you watching the entire scene from start till the end? Are you using fast forward on those parts you don't particulary like? Are you skipping back and forth like an OCD maniac on ritalin, trying to find the perfect action, second, camera angle? Are you just checking that the download is complete before you save in on your hdd and never open that file again? Me, I'm somewhere between #2 and #3. If the girl and the scene is very hot, I keep watching for a while, occasionally skipping the boring parts. If it's a sub-par scene, I usually find myself skipping a lot, trying to find something interesting. | |

^Thank You Capn. That made me burst out in laughter. Now back to the question. It really depends on the video but it's not unusual for me to skip a little ahead or fast forward on some of them. It usually depends on what kind of video I am watching. If I' watching lesbian porn than I probably won't skip or fast forward but gonzo tends to make me want to do that. I'm watching porn just fine thank you. And, I'm deconstructing a scene this afternoon, compressing it into the scene I will watch from beginning to end. Then I'm loading it onto my 500GB hard drive to watch on my flat screen tv when I will break out my egg for assistance. Well I think that about answers all of your questions. When I saw the title, my first thought was, "Sitting". I'll usually watch full scenes, but I also like to make what I call theme compilations. 20 strippers, 30 solo girls, etc... ^ I use to do that, but it's better suited for DVD's than stringing them together on the hard drive - Not easy to jump to the beginning of a chapter. With the hard drive I don't have to jump up and down to change disks and the selection is 100 x greater. If it ain't grits, it must be a Yankee. ^ Not sure I understand that. At first you seem to favor DVDs, then you say you don't have to jump up and down and get a better selection with hard drives. I used to love DVDs. But, about the time my collection was about to be measured in terabytes, DVDs got to be too much to handle. Corrupted discs, shelf space, and even finding a specific disc was too much of a chore. Yeah, it's hard to jump around within a particular video when all you have is a slider bar and one or two "jump to" keys on the media player, but I like the convenience of almost instant access to the files. The hardest problem I have now is remembering which site's material is on which drive. You did give me something to look into though - I know my video editor allows the marking/insertion of keyframes, now I need to see if there's a way to seek the frames with VLC or another media player. ^ Sorry - I use to do that but then I saw where I could put them on this extra hard drive I had and plug it right into my TV. Thus no more dvd watching. What I was referring to is that on a DVD you can create chapters which will move you from performer to performer (or points in between) but on the hard drive there is no way I am aware of for creating chapters - thus, I tend to make smaller (10 - 20min) scenes of one performer. Three ways I know of and have used. CTL PRTSCN but if it's on the fly not always at right spot. Fraps - a software program that will catch both single shots and capture images on the screen - used for games primarily. As a raid guide it would look like this http://youtu.be/Ou_QQ_n245w The quality of the picture is how great the game video quality is set - but it's a pig in file size - AVI is the video standard. I don't do a lot of screencaps so I just use Alt + Print Screen. The Alt key makes it take a shot of just the active window, so if I have a video running full screen, it just grabs the video - no frame or anything else to crop out later. Only problem is, some players work differently than others. My method works with VLC but not Winamp. I prefer VLC anyway because you can move video frame by frame to get exactly the picture you want. That's a shame - I'm always looking for a new utility to make things easier. That tool won't work here because I don't have W7. I'm a reluctant XP user, still wishing I could be on my beloved W2K. But the way I capture, there really isn't much to do other than a quick crop. Not too much of an issue for someone with either a video editor or graphic editor open damn near all the time. I like VLC for a lot of reasons, screen captures included. But the quality of any screencap depends on the source material. The higher the resolution, the better the capture. I just took one from my highest resolution video file to show you. A scene from Avatar.  I capture in png format which, unfortunately, imagevenue doesn't allow. The screencap was converted to jpg which lowers the resolution because of the compression. But I think you can see it's still pretty clear. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

You're welcome The settings can be a bit tricky at first, mostly because there are a ton of 'em. But, to do screencaps, you'll have to at least find out where the folder is that they'll save to. I do hit the fast forward, but also the pause button in some solo vids when the view is just right. I've even used slow mo on some scenes. I use Capture Wiz for video capturing at the webcam sites, and it also has a very good screen shot utility. I done a couple of complilations using Windows Movie Maker, but I haven't really mastered it yet. I wish there was something easier, but maybe I just need to take the time to learn the program. | |

I've put this blurb up so many times on here, I'm sure I come off as an agent for the company. I'm not. I just spent a lot of time looking for what you're looking for - something easier. I'm a big fan of TMPGenc's Video Mastering Works 5. I'm not so quick to learn new tricks anymore and I found it really easy to master the basics of the program. A bit of messing around with the settings for a month or so got me to the point where my family has now charged me with editing video taken at family get-togethers. It will open every video file type I've ever run into and outputs to 8 different adjustable quality formats. You can edit music and make slideshows with it. The interface is loaded with large, intuitive buttons for the majority of things you'll probably want to use to manipulate your files. Fading in/out, crossfading, resizing, speed control, color settings and plenty more. Unfortunately, it's not cheap - $100US. I figure this is a thread as good as any to jump in and share with the group, so here goes... I collect pics and movies. With my pics I DL the sets, cull the bad ones from the herd and title and tag the ones I want to keep. I keep a key of about 200 tags (a 4 character code) that I can reference when I want to see what I want. I do the same with my movies. I keep full movies of my favorite girls (ie Juelz Ventura, Katie St. Ives, Skin Diamond) and title and tag those. However, with movies that are of starlets that I'm not a dedicated fan of or if it's just a good 6 minutes of --let's say cowgirl-- I'll run it through Windows Movie Maker, edit out that one 6 minute clip, title it and tag it and add it to my Cowgirl file, which is then broken down into hair color, bodytype, and any other details I want to tag. Sometimes it's a quick process and sometimes it can be rather tedious. Either way, it works for me. My next task is to convert the hundreds of dvds I own. I just use the Windows 7 tag function. I figured (perhaps wrongly) that as long as I tag with metadata, it should be able to work with any operating system's search function. I learned the hard way back when I would catalog my DVDs that buying database programs usually leads to too much busy work. One man's art is another man's pornography. | |

Not too long ago I thought it would be a great idea to start tagging all my pictures (softcore and hardcore) with specific and precise tags such as: - outdoors - high heels - ass with opened legs - ass with closed legs - and many more These are just example tags and there would be much more I would like to think of and add but just thinking about the time it would require to go through all my pictures library is unthinkable!  | |
