riginstudio.com another site that seems to have died.

I tried to look over RiginStudios.com preview page, and the site doesn't come up.

Is this another site that has disappeared?

The downturn in porn seems to be taking down some sites with good or excellent photo archives.

If those archives disappear, it seems a waste of assets that have real value.

Try it again. Warning Will Robinson

The site we used to list had a hyphen in the name. The listing was pulled in Jan of this year because the URL wasn't responding.

Visiting just now, I see the domain for sale. Former PornUsers Senior Administrator

I swear I went to the the site and it was there in all its glory. I see Khan's post and try to go back and it is just as he said. Gone with the wind. I must quit the late nighst roaming through the net, because I am seeing things. Maybe new glasses would help. Warning Will Robinson

I had a couple of email exchanges with Vladimir Rigin a few years ago. He was telling me then that he stopped posting zip files because his content was being so quickly ripped off -- nearly instantaneously sometimes. He thought that the "no zips" policy would hinder the practice.

I hope that he continues shooting nudes, if not for his own site, then at least for others. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

If that's true then that basically means that we will one day see little if any new porn being made. No one can make any money when their content winds up on a Tube site at about the same time that it makes it onto their own site. Long live the Brown Coats.

That's a good point. Pirating is a big problem, it's the same predicament the popular film and music companies are in. How is their business sustainable, if one day everyone is just downloading their content for free. Everyone loves the pussy: http://www.skeet-skeet-skeet.com/

I don't think mainstream media is in the same situation as the porn industry because their customer base is so much bigger than it is for porn that even if they lose 20% to pirating then they are still making huge amounts of money.

The profit margin for porn I so small these days that 20% is probably more money than the producer was going to make and therefore more and more of studios are going out of business. When's the last time a Hollywood studio went out of business because of pirating. The majority of studios that have financial difficulties is because they finance gigantic turds to the sum of hundreds of millions and when they obviously bomb then they go out of business.

The best case in point is this past summer's Lone Ranger movie. If that movie had been produced by almost any other studio than Disney. Then it could have easily bankrupt that studio. When you invest in upwards of 300 to 400 millions for one movie and it can't make more than 89 millions in North America then you are screwed. Long live the Brown Coats.

That's true Pat. Good point. This would make the porn industry especially vulnerable to pirating. Especially the little guy. Everyone loves the pussy: http://www.skeet-skeet-skeet.com/

The porn industry has had to cope with ever restricting laws, increased costs (especially in the world of credit and debit card processing), adult content filtering by ISPs (now mandatory in some countries) and even things like Google removing adult sites from search results unless an explicitly adult search term is used.

I'm sure free content, tube sites, piracy etc. have had a serious negative effect, but they are not all we have had to cope with. Oh and let's not forget the financial downturn (credit crunch, recession - whatever you want to call it). Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

^I agree that porn producers have had to cope with a lot of things aside from porn piracy but I think piracy is at least 80% responsible for the current state of the porn industry. The recession didn't help all the struggling porn studios but most of them could have survived the two plus years it took the world to get itself out of financial trouble but it's next to impossible for a studio to make money when torrent and tube sites release your movie for free about the same day it gets uploaded to your own site or released on dvd. I know because I used to check out a couple of torrent sites and they always had the new dvd at about the same time it had been announced on the studios site.

We don't see too many people asking us to identify such and such scene or to identify a particular performer on this forum but it's so common on another one that I got annoyed with all the posters who used to start a new thread asking for info. It's clear from their request that they saw the scene on a tube site and wanted to find more free stuff with similar content. If they had seen the video on a paying site then it's clear they would not have had to ask who the person was or where to find similar stuff. Long live the Brown Coats.

We still see quite a few of those but they're screened. A few years back we started only allowing those types of questions from users who had earned their rookie badge (5 points). The reason you mention was one of the factors we factored in when we made that decision. Former PornUsers Senior Administrator

^Your post just confirmed my statement about people using free porn sites for their jerk-off needs. It's bad enough when people do that but you have to be pretty brazen to actually ask other people where to find more free stuff. Long live the Brown Coats.
