PUerview: Denner Hey Denner ... c'mon down !! I'm pleased to announce that Denner has agreed to be our next PU Interviewee. We're looking forward to learning a little more about this regular contributor here at PU. We hope the other users will join in the fun and ask Denner some questions of their own. Denner, remember, we do understand the desire for a certain measure of anonymity so please don't feel obliged to give answers that are too personal. So, without further ado, here's our questions ... 1. In general, can you tell us what kind of work you do? 2. Is there anything noteworthy about your education? 3. What kind of car do you drive ... and is it the car you'd like to be driving? 4. Do you drink? If so, what's your favorite drink? 5. Do you cook? If so, what's one of your best dishes? 6. If you could bang any porn star or celebrity, who would it be? 7. If you had to choose, would you rather be a porn star or the director? 8. What's the first adult material (porn) that you recall seeing? 9. We understand you've done quite a bit of traveling ... can you tell us about some of the more interesting places you've been? 10. First, you guys: Have patience with me - about that deal with the language - English is certainly the second here, but I try....and stick to my dictionary: 1. In general, can you tell us what kind of work you do? Been working in the media - newspaper, magazines and some television for 25+ years - as a journalist/reporter/researcher. But just recently skipped the steady jobs and went freelance and said good bye to that rat race my line of work was. So now I get by on that freelance basis doing press realeases for a couple of companies (that's where some money is) - but also (and much more fun) writing travel articles and special feature for Danish and Norwegian magazines. Oh, yes - and be my own photographer for these articles. 2. Is there anything noteworthy about your education? Did journalism and history at the university - but I'll say any day: Journalism is not an academic trade - it's more like beeing a craftsman - there are some very simple first hand rules which stars with: How, when, where, why and who - get the answers to those and give all that info to the reader of a newstory in the first couple of lines - then the ongoing digging for infos - and then you can play Shakespeare.. But ok, the research is still the most importent part - AND you got to have your own, personal sources - thats where you get the solo stories. 3. What kind of car do you drive ... and is it the car you'd like to be driving? I drive a Honda midsize SUV - took out the backseats and made room for security-cages for our dogs - two German Shepherds - no need for backseats anymore - the kids have grown and left the building. 4. Do you drink? If so, what's your favorite drink? Oh, certainly. The wife loves redwine, but I'm into beers - and good booze. Those belgian and czech beers are great, even the danish beer can cope - but like to get my hand on that (here in Scandinavia rare) american beer too: Miller, Micheloab - and maybe a can of Coors. And the booze: Rare vodka (Finland makes some great Vodka) and tequila - can do with José Cuervo, too. 5. Do you cook? If so, what's one of your best dishes? The wife and friends tell me I'm a good cook - love making all differens kinds of spaghetti sauces, soups, beuf bourgignon and some special Danish dishes based on poultry or veal. 6. If you could bang any porn star or celebrity, who would it be? That's a hard one: Maybe the first choice could be Crissy Moran - what a body. Then even more on the 'dirty' side: Christina Bella, Megan Cole - and more delicate: Jana Cova and Natasha/Helen: Drooler knows who this is. 7. If you had to choose, would you rather be a porn star or the director? Funny - that Oldje-site could tell this 'old man': join the set and fuck that beautiful teen - but still the answer will be: the director. 8. What's the first adult material (porn) that you recall seeing? A friend and I started to collect 'dirty magazines' as teens - and it was special 'the nude material' - but wauv - then came dildos and then the real hc/bg material - many years ago. 9. We understand you've done quite a bit of traveling ... can you tell us about some of the more interesting places you've been? My job has taken me to all kinds of - also weird - places. The worst was Burma/Cambodia/Laos where I met up with real assholes where you'd just feel lucky to get out of there alive. Then all over Europe - but my favorite place to travel has always been the US - I can brag of having visited/stayed in about 35 of the states in the US: Just dig Texas, New Mexico, Mississippi, Arizona, Wyoming and parts of Florida - You guys in the US have a great nation for a visitor.. 10. What kind of music do you listen to? Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd (the old band), Gram Parsons, Mickey Newbury, David Allan Coe (the first 15 years), Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Emmylou Harris, Tanya Tucker and not to forget the legendary George Jones - funny most of this music gets even better after a few beers - and in my younger days a couple of joints, too - but quit those. And sure - all that older stuff: Jimi Hendrix, Doors, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, The Band ect. 11. Your profile mentions that your lovely wife is quite understanding about your porn, care to tell us a little of how that works? When your're my age and been married for almost 15 years the sex becomes a lot easier, I think - and that old 'deal' about getting your appetite out, but eat home is the answer, so to speak... 12. If another porn user looked at your porn stash, what would they probably notice first? My library on certain models - got archives which to some extend is more than ten years old - but that's treasure. 13. What's your favorite kind of porn? 15. What are the main things you look for when reading the reviews of fellow PU's? Look for infos about video quality, the amount, special deals, the warnings, the amount/regularity of updates - and quality/navigation in general. 16. Do you have a life goal or something special you'd like to accomplish? Oh, yes: Want to keep my marriage going, my wife happy, the dogs content, keep the kids on the right track - AND not end up as a poor old man - you can be young and poor - but not old and poor... 17. Can you tell us about any special skills or talents you may have? Been told that I’m pretty good at raising/training dogs - had them all my life - they all turned out nice, friendly and obeying - they always have to know who’s in charge - but in a kind way - if I ever see someone beating og kicking a dog - I’m close to whip that persons ass…. 18. Can you tell us about any moment (or incident) in your life that you are especially proud of? When my son and daughter were born - and when I got the best in my 'class' at the journalism at University. 19. Do you ever have problems fitting your porn collecting into you regular life? Not really - but do not want my kids to know. 20. Do you think porn addiction exists and should it require professional help? Of course it's there - but only if you cannot get your 'normal' sex-life to work because of it - it's a problem. 21. In general, how much do you trust adult sites? With your credit card ...to deliver what they promise ... etc? Boy, we've been around that much here - but ok, have not have any real problems with creditcar/pornsites that I could not get straight again - and I trust some of the major billing co. to a vast extend. 22. Have you ever gotten tricked into cross-sales or offers you didn't mean to accept? Sure, guess most PU did once or twice - but, amigos: that's what this PU is also about: warnings and helping each other out in those cases. 23. Currently, you're the top PU raffle winner ... so what do you spend all that money on? I'm somewhat embarrassed of that top-position - guess I'd been lucky for some time. I'd like to spend them on pornsites- but the overseas deal made me choose Amazon instead - and so I by books - man, love US-authors like Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiaasen and John Sandford.. 24. When reading your PU Reviews, what should fellow users keep in mind about you? The same old: That english is not my first language - and boy, how I imagine to write some reviews in danish.. 25. What would you say to encourage others to give a forum interview? It's quite some work on the pc here - BUT: There are a lot of nice people here at PU - AND I think it'd be fun and interesting to know more about one another.. 26. What's your favorite part of PornUsers.com ? 'No point in digging it, Bill' (quote from 'In The Heat of The Night') - but it's the help I can get to locate the best pornsites - but it's just as great to have that ping-pong with other users - to share info... Denner - Great responses! Your English on here is better than some of the people who were born in an English speaking country, so I have to remind myself from time to time that English isn't your first language. An extra job well done! I knew we had some similar tastes in porn, but I didn't know we share some of the same taste in music. I don't drink alcohol anymore, so I'll ask you to do what I tell people here to do - the next time you're jammming to some Allman Brothers or 70's classic rock or drinking to some old country, chug one down for me. I never caught on that you'd travelled so much. You've seen two more states here than I have, so it was quite a surprise that you'd been over here that much. But we both agree on Texas! I love Texas and Arizona too, and agree as you get older and time runs out you should use it in the way that makes you happy. BTW: Did you ever visit that little place in West Texas: Terlingua - at Big Bend Natinal Park down by Rio Grande, WOW - and gary P. Nunn made a great song just about terlingua Nights - visited a great 'dancehall' there called 'Starlight Theater' with good live rock - the wife and I drove back in the night - only stars to show the way back to this little run down motel called 'Easter Egg Valley Motel' - I'll never forget that night..... I have to say this surprises me. When I was living in Europe (well, just Germany, not Denmark) the only SUVs I remember seeing were the ones driven by Americans. There might have been a few Mercedes SUVs driven by Germans but I think they were commercial or government vehicles, the civilians stuck almost religiously to cars. Come to think of it I don't even remember many Asian cars either, especially not any SUVs or trucks, though my mind could be going (too much time spent 'researching' online?). It sounds handy for a dog owner though. I can't imagine you doing that with a Smart Car without getting really  . "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? You're welcome, Denner - and thanks in advance for that toast. I never got to west Texas. My girlfriend at the time was from Tyler, in east Texas. While I was there, we spent most of the time going back and forth from there, to Dallas/Fort Worth. But, again, you surprised me. I don't know too many people who've even heard of Warren Haynes or Derek Trucks. I had the pleasure of seeing Gov't Mule and the Derek Trucks Band in a little crowded bar here in Maryland, a few years before Allen Woody died. Haynes and Trucks absolutely blew us away! Denmark is much different from Gemany regarding carholds, becouse ot uou taxsystem. In Denmark the majority of cars are in the smaller segment (the midsize SUVs, too) and it's Japanese, Korean, French and some German - we have the highest (and crazy) tax-system for cars here, so they are expensive. That tax is 180% of the factory-price - and everybody hates it - but no government has been able to change that... Never saw the guys live  It must have been just great!! Have to stick with that damn fine concert-DVD 'Live at The Beacon Theatre' - and the cds, of course, BTW: Did not know about the Derek Trucks Band - are they doing cds (and gigs) when not playing with 'The Brothers band'? BTW: Funny to think that Warren Haynes once played with the David Allan Coe band - Man, WH has sure grown up in the world and found his right place since then.... Thanks, PP BTW I just mentioned MISSISSIPPI, too - but that state is great and special for a visitor - not many Scandinavians go there for holiday.. Been driving through MS three times - and some of the best is going down 61 starting in Memphis - the old blues highway and the cottonfields. Tunica, that Tony Joe White sings about, through Clarksdale down to Vicksburg. In Vicksburg the wife and I got to see/hear David Allan Coe at this honky tonk - like place called Duffs Tavern and Grill - got all his cds, but the only time I saw him live.. - he is some special character - but I like his earlier songs (1973- about 1985)... Thanks for the tip. Sounds as though you like all the sort of places I like. I remember Nanci Griffith saying that Oklahoma is most people's idea of what Texas is really like. Texas is nothing like people imagine it, but Oklahoma looks a lot like what people think Texas is like. I don't think she liked Oklahoma much. Just hope you didn't ever have the job of interviewing her. | |

I didn't know it, but according to allmusic.com, Trucks' band put out an album as late as last year. Here's their discography: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg...l=11:dpfixqrkldje~T2 Derek's site says he's still touring and now hooked up with Susan Tedeschi - a blues diva in her own right. I saw her at the Baltimore City Fair here in Maryland and I'd love to see them on stage together. Unfortunately, the closest city to here on their tour is over 200 miles away. That would be a show and a half! And you're right about Haynes. Check out the Wiki on Gov't Mule. Funny you should say that, Drooler - but oh, yes driving can be a bore. But it certainly depends on WHERE! And the USA is my absolute favorite - it's all in the scenery. The wife and I drives maybe a couple of thousand miles almost each year through Europe going from north to south of France or Spain - and it's tiresome in many ways - the drive (but not when you get there).. NEVER experienced that 'tiresome' when driving across the USA or up and down ect - plus parts of beautiful Canada. The view, the scenery going through Monument Valley, deep south in Arizona and hitting a motel in the town of Tombstone, Death Valley, around Mount Shasta, along the Mississippi (in more states), along the Rio Grande in Texas (and getting to the weird town of Presidio), the bended backroads of West Virginia and even along the Gulf Coast of Florida, The Keys ect. ect. Definitely got to get my hands of some of that Derek Trucks material - the preview audios sound just amazing - Man, you're lucky to be that close to the live deals of this kind of music - Allman Bros. was here in Scandinavia years ago and probably won't be back? But ok, I've (we) traveled to the US to (also) see/hear great music - and we'll do again - the net is a blessing about tour-dates ect. - thanks for the info/updates! Hey, thanks. I must say that I can't think of any European country that's comparable in terms of geography, and even within the entire continent that's really as close to the U.S., especially the western U.S. Isn't driving around Europe, at least within EU member countries, a lot easier now because of the really open borders? I remember not even having to show my passport driving from Germany to Netherlands, though I think I had to at least stop and show a license. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? The open borders has in practice always (for centuries, at least) been there - ok, at one time you could 'risk' to be stopped to show a passport - but the crossings were always very easy. The main thing is that a lot of the scenery in Germany (the large country you have to drive through to get from north to south of France) is the boring deal - autobahns - the (although) great system of free highways that this once Hitler started to make. And up until now most of the autobahns had no speed limits, wow. But it's more restricted now - still you have long stretches of autobahn where you can go as fast as your car can manage, pretty wild... BUT - again the south of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and parts of France has damn high mountains and a great drive-scenery - It's just (or especially) for us Scandinavians the loooooong drive (maybe 700 US miles) before you get to that scenery. And just a recommendation for US-citizens thinking about Europe: Go to the French region of Provence (not Nice and Cannes-area, tourist traps and russian mafia) but the Vaucluse and the Luberon Mountains (Try Google it) - that's the beauty of France - and the food!! http://www.theluberon.com/ "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle" Edited on Apr 24, 2010, 06:13am | |
