Yeah, I have a resolution: Stick with the tried and true. For me, that's MetArt, FemJoy, MPL Studios and maybe HegreArt. And forget the rest for 2010. Those can all wait a year. Besides, I've got a helluva collection now anyway.

I'll probably drop in the rankings this year and I might not win the raffle at all. Which is all OK with me. But I'll keep hanging around. I'll never run out of stupid comments to make. LOL. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

That's why I haven't really moved anywhere in the rankings. Seems I'm always on the same 4 or 5 sites. I was going to say here that I resolve to find a new site to fall in love with, but just about every time I've ventured off my list, I'm disappointed. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

There are very few sites that I really love. Met-art is the one I love the best. But I am still searching for other sites that I can hopefully enjoy or really like, that I can pay the 1-month fee and feel that it's money well spent. Met-art is great, but I still want a little variety, or else I just get bored.
Regarding RB's disappointment when he ventures off his list of favorites, that's part of the price you pay when searching for something new. PU helps increase the odds that what you sign up for, that's new, is not a complete waste of money, because the site reviews should give you a basic understanding of what each site offers. You still need to join a site to determine its real value to you, but after reading a review, you should have a pretty good idea whether the site is worth your while.

Actually, I haven't found that to be true in any general sense. There are sites that some people here review highly, and these aren't shill reviewers, but I find them lacking.

And it isn't just the overall opinion of a site; it's also whether they include the necessary details. You can "read the review" and still wonder.

So I use reviews as guidelines and know that I'm always taking some risk no matter what. My own preferences and peeves are now at a point where I'll reject a lot of things that I used to accept. No one else can know what another person really wants. I've been on the other side of that, too, singing high praises of a site and then getting flack from other users because -- surprise! -- they see it differently. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

I believe that's what I wrote in my comment, using different words. The better PU reviews will give you an idea of a site's value to you, but that's only an idea or approximation: You have to join the site itself to get the specific value of the site to you, and then you can know whether the membership was a worthwhile purchase or a disappointment.

But you should be able to cross off the list many sites as not worth joining by reading the reviews. Maybe a few of the sites might be borderline acceptable, but why bother with them when you are looking for good-to-great sites?

As for personal taste, it differs. But surely you've found some PU members that write reviews that agree with your basic opinion of different sites. You've joined a huge number of different sites, I assume you've read the reviews posted at PU on most of those sites, so you've gotten an idea of how well some PU members agree with your personal tastes of porn. I'm not saying we are all clones of each other, or that there are only a few prototypes for personal taste, but when you read the reviews of at least a few PU members that you share a similar taste with, even though you might not agree with every detail of their review, you do find some common ground, and that increases the value of their site review, because you can use their review as a very approximate guide to what your own opinion will be. Just a guide, not an exact value, you still have to form your own opinion on the site.

But even the people with similar tastes will still form their own opinion of the exact value of a site.

That's my viewpoint, anyway.

Happy New Year - from the little old kingdom of Denmark...

I probably will stick with the 'tried and the true', too - but I hope for 'new winds' - new ways of doing fine porn, and that new - and old sites - will prosper - and provide us with - also - something different.

Cheers to all!!! "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

There was a man, his name was Lang and he had a neon sign. And Mr. Lang was very old, so we call it Old Lang's Sign.

I was just speaking for myself, not for anyone else. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.
