Locked Credit card - an old dog learns a new trick I’ve had some issues with the proprietary biller that most of the Lansky sites use now, VXNBILL. Those sites are Vixen, Tushy, Tushy Raw, Blacked, Blacked Raw and Deeper.) On multiple occasions I’ve subscribed for a month and cancelled successfully only to have an annual membership applied to my card months later. If only there was a way to lock my card against unwanted charges… This morning I was the intended victim of a phone scam involving my card. A phone call came in from a blocked number and the guy said that he was calling from RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) Visa. Apparently my card had been hacked and there were some suspicious charges appearing. This seemed plausible because this is my porn card and it’s been hacked in the past. The caller wanted some detailed information about that card and about my debit card. The fact that the caller ID was blocked sent up a red flag. Also, since I only use this card for online porn subscriptions I have the limit set at $1000 CDN (that’s as low as they’d go; I’d prefer lower) and the charges they were saying occurred were approximately that amount. But if those charges were in USD then the limit would have been exceeded and the charges denied. I told the guy that I thought he was full of crap and he put me through to his supervisor who was equally full of crap. I ended the call and told them that if they really were RBC I’d call them using their listed number which I promptly did. As I suspected, the call was a scam. I didn’t give any information and my card wasn’t hacked. But… while on hold the recording mentioned that I could ‘lock’ my cards using the website or app and unlock them whenever I needed to use them. Say what?? So I got information on how to do that and it turns out that it’s really easy. So now my porn card is locked and I feel a lot more confident that I can prevent hacking. I’m not going too far out on a limb to say that RBC can’t be the only bank on the planet that allows this. For those who are like me and use a credit card for online porn subscriptions this may be something you want to look into. For those of you who are younger than 50 and reading this, please stop rolling your eyes at me… Technology is hard! (As an aside, I recently rejoined Tushy and VXNBILL rejected my card. That may be because they got tired of me calling them to reverse the unwanted charges. The good news was that I got kicked to Epoch which is a biller I trust and cancelling through them is easy.)

This is why I always used a loadable card for any porn purchases. I load what I want to use and the site doesn't get anything more unless I load it in for them. No money in the card, no purchase. Most banks now have these types of cards (many with no fees). A reloadable card might be the best suggestion for you to stop unwanted purchases. (I use mine for Amazon purchases as well these days.) Nice to know, I'm going to look into that myself.

This sucks that you card got hacked in the first place but you lucky so and so getting VXNBill to reject your card, I'd love to join their sites but all I get is rocketbill vxnbill, tried that trick of refreshing browser but sadly didn't work for me of 2 hours refreshing the page, 2 hours I'll never get back lol. I don't know anything about locking cards, I'll look into this. So I presume you just turn on when you order site then instantly turn off again. I looked into pre-paid cards but like in the UK I couldn't find anything without a monthly fee. "Women are like tricks by sleight of hand, Which, to admire, we should not understand." This would be the PERFECT solution for me but loadable cards don't seem to exist in Canada. I've check multiple bank sites and they don't seem to have them. I've used pre-paid cards with a set limit but the fees on them are high. Maybe I'll dig around a bit more on the loadable cards. Edit - I did find that the post office here offers a loadable card but the problem with it is the same as pre-paid cards - the fees are high. To even get a card you have to pay $15 and then there is a $3 monthly fee. I bought a pre-paid card a while back to use on a questionable site but changed my mind. I recently checked the balance on it and without using it the balance is mostly depleted. But... if I used the loadable card carefully I could avoid fees by having a balance near zero after every use. The problem with that is figuring out the exchange rate every time. I keep a separate bank account with a Visa debit card that way the charge can't exceed what's in the account. I use it for whatever online purchases that I can - most sites seem to treat it like a standard CC.
