Was there a law passed? I'm wondering if there was some law passed that says every webcam model has to have the same pink toy hanging out of her cooch. Or is it just a case of "I'm cutting edge and unique - just like everybody else"? Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity. | |

I've read there was a law that if a porn model does not have a tattoo, commonly called a tramp stamp, she is not a member of the World's Professional Porn Models. But there is no law that states that porn models, whether webcam or not, needs a toy. Toys are a voluntary decision, made by the model or the porn director. Or maybe the model's boyfriend or girlfriend, in case the model wants a bit of extra excitement in her life. | |

I figured you were being sarcastic. At the same time, I thought there was an element of truth in your idea that toys are popular for cam models. Since I don't follow cam sites, I have no idea what percentage of the toys are pink, versus other popular colors.  | |

I don't usually follow cam sites either but I was looking to get out of the rut of going to the same sites over and over again, so I gave a few a go. It's not just the color of the toy that I find so annoying, it's the style. For lack of a better way to put it, it looks like (maybe appropriately) a really long sperm, with the knob end inserted and the tail hanging out. I don't spend much time on chat sites but I have seen several sessions with a European model (German, I think) who goes by Siswet. Sadly you're right about this. There are labels being self-applied these days that I have no idea what they mean. (I read an article recently by a gay man in his 70s who was somewhat offended at the ease by which people can simply apply labels to themselves these days. He had encountered a woman he knew who was straight, married, kids and in her 30s and one day she saw another woman and thought 'she's hot.' Since then, this woman he knows has self-identified as queer. The author's concern came from how people like this woman have no idea what previous generations went through and how she devalues that. The author pointed out that if he were to have identified as queer when he was younger it would have had him ostracized, fired and maybe killed. And the thing is that he WAS/IS queer. ^ That's a fascinating story. Thanks for sharing it. Like you, I wouldn't judge a woman who did this. Our culture has changed a lot (though not enough) such that at least some sex work is deemed okay. It seems that a lot of young women are getting into this and it's a way to earn some decent money in a world that otherwise looks to pay them less than their male counterparts.
