Happy Holidays and Looking Forward to 2021! No one needs to worry that recent events, including some long-term members' departures, have gone unnoticed. I have noticed, as have their fellow Porn Users - whether or not they jumped on the bandwagon or not. People choosing to take such severe action requires me to take time for some serious reflection rather than resorting to an immediate reaction. Pausing and pondering is about more than careful contemplation. I will be away for several weeks - I am visiting my family and I feel I need to self-isolate before seeing them. Others may not agree, but my parents are elderly and that's what they and I feel comfortable doing. Someone will monitor Porn Users, but any changes will have to await my return. I had initially planned to run the next raffle for five weeks instead of four, so I'd be around for the drawing. But given that one of the issues for departing members was the raffle structure, I will simply suspend it for now. It'll most likely be back in the early part of 2021 - and if anyone writes reviews during the suspension, they will count toward the first new drawing. 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. Though this recent development on Porn Users is yet another challenge, it's not all doom and gloom because up until recently, we had more engagement on the site and better numbers in terms of traffic. It also confirms what most of us have been already thinking - 2021 is bound to be better. Your contributions to this community have always been appreciated and I apologize wholeheartedly to anyone who feels otherwise. I am grateful any time someone helps me look at things from a different perspective. If it's too challenging to think outside the box, you should at least consider it from all sides. So I wish everyone all the best - no matter what comes next. May 2021 bring health, happiness and a whole lot of porn! Hello, I'm Tom, your PU admin today. Would you like to hear about our specials?

Happy holidays Tom and all! I'm far from a regular here so my opinion may not be worth much, but the whole raffle saga seems to overshadow everything else on this website. At the end of the day us users aren't owed anything for contributing here, but appreciate it's a great incentive to generate reviews. I've been a winner myself before and the prize was definitely welcome! I'm wondering if a more relevant prize for the 3 randomly chosen contributions might cause a bit less grief/greed - perhaps a 1 month subscription to the user's porn site of choice? An incentive more in keeping with what we're all here for, and it could even help generate a few more reviews if the winners were to choose a site they had perhaps been on the fence with spending their own hard earned on. Also surely a fair bit cheaper for PU than giving away 500+ amazon vouchers each month!

UMBA8, it's against the policies of PU to review a site that you got comped for. Giving out a membership to a site would be fine, but the recipient wouldn't be able to write a review of it until they've paid for it themselves. Loki, I'm not sure where the current rules are for a review to earn raffle tickets. But if a person won a membership to a site (through a prize given by the PU site), I would think the review, if accepted by the PU site, could earn raffle tickets, if the review had merit. On a similar issue, I think that a review based on a trial membership could also be eligible to earn raffle tickets. (A trial period of one or more days membership to a site, instead of a month-long membership.) My impression was that the PU site was trying to discourage sites from giving out free memberships to encourage positive reviews. That was my impression, but I could be wrong on the technical details of when a review could earn raffle tickets.

Must admit I hadn't thought of the potential issues around reviews of sites when memberships have been 'won' or given away for free...good points and can see how it could potentially encourage bias. PU rules aside, and even if unintentional, you're more likely to be less critical of something you haven't had to pay for. My original point still stands though....what the best solution could be I don't know, but it's a shame that this site has become so raffle focused, and the politics surrounding that seems to be turning members away, while on the flip side of that being the only reason that any reviews are written at all.

In my opinion, the raffle is a nice bonus to using the site, not the end-all be-all reason to write reviews. I haven't written any reviews lately because I'm taking a long-term break from porn, not because of the changes to the raffle. I still drop in to check the forums though.
