The Last Kingdom I love Game of Thrones. For me it is the best TV show ever made and hate it that the next season looks like 2019. That being said, I would recommend that you check out The Last Kingdom. Sure its not GOT, but it is still quite excellent with great production values, good acting and a very interesting story line. I saw the first season on BBC America in 2015 and fell in love with it. Both the first and second seasons are available on DVD. Maybe it can be found somewhere on some network, but I don't know. The third season has not aired yet. The story is set in 9th century Saxon England. The Danes have taken over all of the Saxon kingdoms, leaving only Saxon Wessex left. Alfred, known to history as Alfred the Great, becomes king early in the first season. The protagonist is Uhtred, a Saxon from Northumbria. As a child the Danes conquered his kingdom. He became a slave to one of their leaders and was raised as a Dane. As an adult, he wants his ancestral lands back. Being bicultural, the stories are rich. If I were writing a PU review I would give GOT a 99. This show I would give maybe in the low to mid nineties. | |

I HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST KINGDOM SERIES YET. BUT I'VE BEEN READING BERNARD CORNWELL FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW. CORNWELL IS A POPULAR AUTHOR WHO HAS WRITTEN SEVERAL SERIES. THE LAST KINGDOM IS BASED ON HIS SAXON STORIES SERIES. THERE'S LOTS OF BLOOD, FURY, DEATH, PASSION, DYING IN HIS BOOKS. | |

TWO TV SERIES THAT I REALLY ENJOYED: DEADWOOD, A WESTERN WITH TIMOTHY OLYPHANT AND IAN MCSHANE. ROME, ROME IN THE TIME OF JULIUS CAESAR, WITH KEVIN MCKIDD AND RAY STEVENSON. LOTS OF BLOOD, FURY, DEATH, PASSION, DYING, AND SEX. | |

THOR RAGNAROK IS COMING NOVEMBER 3. I DON'T USUALLY SEE SUPER-HERO MOVIES. BUT THIS MOVIE HAS BEEN GETTING GREAT REVIEWS.
