2019 Update for Porn Users

Hey guys!

We thought it was time to update you guys on some issues you have previously brought up. We also thought it was a good opportunity to announce some adjustments to the conduct on the forum.

We want Porn Users to be a forum for people who love and are passionate about porn. We want to engage in healthy debate but ensure discourse be kept civil amongst users, webmasters and moderators. We encourage civil disagreements, debates on content, functionality, usability and the like. We all love this place and we want to keep it as a shining little beacon on the Internet and we think these rules might help to do exactly that.

Sites Not Listed: We will be updating it once every two weeks. These updates will include the status of the sites - (1) whether we are able to review the site (2) if we’ve reached out to the webmaster (or not) and (3) any expected dates (as needed / if available)

Technology upgrades: There aren’t any tech changes planned to Porn Users forums. The technology of Porn Users has custom built in functionality and we want to keep it as stable as possible and we have recently upgraded the hosting. That being said, if there is a major bug, we will definitely address them.

Moderation: Moderators will monitor the forums between Monday to Friday. For anything urgent that may arise on weekends (aside from downtime which we monitor 24/7), we will respond promptly on Monday.

Conduct: We want to reinforce the no bullying criteria. Due to recent events, we believe it’s important to emphasise this. We want Porn Users to remain civil and supportive with all parties (users, webmasters and moderators). We expect everyone participating to work together to create a strong and lively community. This is why we’re all here - for our love of porn.

Feedback: We encourage and love feedback from the community (Users and Webmasters alike). All feedback/suggestions will be taken into consideration but we cannot promise which we will be able to implement. We will do our best to evaluate it with our team and let you know what we can and cannot do.

Customer Service & Billing issues: As always, we will do our best to fully investigate, mediate and help you with any issues related to customer service or billing with the webmasters. Please inform us of any concerns and we’ll work together to help!

We encourage and want to hear feedback from everyone here. If we deem behavior to be inappropriate we will give everyone the benefit of the doubt, contact them and try to help with the concern/issue, and if not we will moderate as needed. As always, if there is anything that you want to share, you believe we have missed and needs to be added, please post here or message me privately.

Thank you for all your wonderful reviews. We really value the dedication and discussions that we all have here. We must continue to love porn, talk, and keep this family growing!

Thank you,

Freddie Edited on Apr 10, 2019, 07:03am

I appreciate the update Freddie - I think your candor and transparency are to be appreciated. It's always best to spell things out and let everyone know where they stand.

And whatever bumps have happened along the way (admittedly I mostly avoid threads with even a hint of tension so I speak in broad terms knowing few specifics), it's clear to me that you're putting in a solid effort here.

Of course, that's just my but I like the idea of trying to support each other here - even if sometimes it probably requires agreeing to disagree!

Porn should have people coming together - and any sticky situations it causes should be easy enough to wipe up with a damp cloth!

Freddie, you are a sweet talking woman.
The 2019 Update for Porn Users covers a lot of ground.
And it would require a lot of time and effort to actually put into practice some of the proposed changes.
On a practical basis, does the PU staff have the time needed to update the Sites Not Listed thread every 2 weeks, with the status of each request?
I'm not trying to criticize, but do you realize how much work that would take, and has the PU staff allocated enough work-hours to accomplish that work?
I'm assuming this means all new site requests going forward, will be treated as suggested.
Because the older requests would be a nightmare to follow up on.
Wishing you well.
But I'm still waiting for your avatar, you sweet-talking woman.

PS: No major technology changes planned. The staff or owner/operator needs to bite the bullet and get a capable software engineer to re-write the software code for the site, to make the site more responsive, with less bugs. Probably a large task, but once done, if done properly, the site should be easier to manage.
That seems easier than constantly tinkering with an out-dated system that the PU staff has admitted is causing problems your tech team can't handle properly.

My apologies if I'm being harsh. This is not directed at you personally, you're the messenger, passing along the message.
I do appreciate the work you are doing. Edited on Apr 10, 2019, 10:03am

You mean you WON'T be moderating this forum on the weekend!? How dare you take time off!!

Haha, I joke, of course. Thanks for keeping us posted on changes and whatnot, Freddie. I'm not a compeltely frequent poster on PU, but I appreciate the work you and the team are doing. You don't understand. A garage. I can't even pull in there. It's like going to a prostitute. Why should I pay, when if I apply myself, maybe I could get it for free?- George Costanza

All of this sounds great. I've said this many times and I still stand by it - TBP/PU is a great resource and community and it deserves support.

As an aside, I know I've been largely absent from here for the past couple of months. I've even let that deadbeat lk2fireone take over the second place here. Please don't read anything into my lack of participation. It isn't a protest or a lack of support for the site or for anyone here. My 'problem' is two-fold. The first is that at soon-to-be 53 my libido is waning a bit. Not a lot, but enough that I'm subscribing to porn less than I used to. The other reason is that I've settled into a groove (not a rut) where I have probably 40 or more sites that I really like and I continually cycle through those. If nothing has changed on a rejoin I won't write another review. It's rare these days that I see a new site that I'm interested in. Though I scan the new site listings at TBP in hopes of finding something that tickles my fancy.

(I guess there's a third reason too. The Canadian dollar is taking a shit-kicking these days in relation to the US dollar so my porn budget is seriously curtailed.)

The bottom line - I'm far from giving up on you guys. I'm a daily reader here and will post as often as I can. One of these days I'll hit my stride again and regain second place from that imposter lk2fireone.

MikeC will be taking care of the Sites Not Listed! Don't worry about that - he's very proficient when doing those!

Regarding the technology updates, unfortunately it's not the priority of our programming team. Like mentioned, if there are any major bugs, we will address it however we want to keep the system as stable as possible.

While I've been largely silent for quite a while, it has nothing to do with the site. I've been preoccupied by other matters. But I do follow the forum and read reviews. I'm happy to see that PU is on the road to becoming the civil and fun place it once was. I applaud the PU staff for listening to its customers and making a sincere effort to improve life here.
