Pay Sites For Main Stream Movies? Is there such a thing? I have deleted so much porn that I now have an empty external Hard Drive and would like to use it to collect ordinary, main stream movies to view them on my TV. I am talking pay sites, not torrents. I am not interested in pirated movies, just in a pay site that has a good selection of movies that can be downloaded for keeps. I am not interested in renting, so sites like Netflix or Amazon are out.

I don't think no such site(s) exist.

Thanks, Randyman, I somehow didn't think so either but was hoping. I got an extra hard drive sitting empty because all my formerly favorite sites have changed too much, either in favor of bland, or of horrifying (hairy legs!!!!), and I have nothing to subscribe to at the moment. So, filling it with some good movies that I could keep would have been ideal. Oh, well.

You can rent or buy movies from Amazon. Obviously, the price for buying a movie is higher than for renting it. If you do buy the movie, you can have it stored on the cloud at Amazon, or you can have it downloaded to your computer or some other device. Normally, it is cheaper to buy a DVD copy of a movie, instead of buying a copy to download. It doesn't make sense, to me, but that's usually the way they are priced. And the DVD usually has better features: Closed-captioned, choice of languages, choice of audio track, sometimes a feature on how the movie was made, etc. The download copy doesn't have any of those extra features that the DVD might have.

Thanks! Your tip is very helpful, lk2fireone. I gave my DVD Player away to one of my grandsons and simply recorded movies I was interested in on my DVR. It was only after I had emptied one of my externals that the thought occurred to me to start collecting movies again. However, if I have to pay more for a downloaded version of a movie than for a DVD then I would not be interested. That's crazy! Oh well, it was a thought!

Don't know if you guys care about this, but if you download movies from Amazon you can't burn them.
