FYI, that was an "article" mainly to adult webmasters but we'll go ahead and allow this post this time. You might be interested in knowing that for years now (since the early TGP days) certain webmasters have bemoaned the flood of free content and claimed it will be the end of adult sites. I’m not sure what Deny is saying. "It is our fault, we have created the largest freely available pornographic content on the planet, so why pay to see our content?" So why do I pay for content? Because I want to see more than just a few pics or a 20 sec video clip. Plus nothing is free. Free sites are full of Spam and malware. Will

Like Khan said, this isn't exactly news for the industry (even if it's dated today, June 24th). The Chicken Littles of adult entertainment have been warning of the 'end' of the industry--whatever that means--for years now, almost, it seems, since the first days of the 'net, or at least the first dirty pictures or text online. Just as they have been doing in the music industry since roughly the same time (and especially during the Napster era), and the film industry since TV began, and then again when VCRs became popular. Oh, and newspapers and news companies are about to fold any day now too. The problem with all the doom-and-gloom predictions is they ignore the reality of consumer demand. People want their music, films, news, and most especially their precious, precious porn. Industries will change, not disappear, there's a difference. Yes, sadly, many companies will go belly up; good, talented people will lose their jobs; and customers, heaven help us all, may have to actually pay for things again! But life will go on and people will adapt, even if only as stubbornly as possible. Change can suck, and people can have trouble in adapting to something new, but it's usually a necessity, not a choice. But if they choose not to progress in porn, then in a few years all we could have left are amateur 'stars' trading shitty photos and shaming themselves in front of a web camera on the boner community that is Chat Roulette. Except we probably won't, because despite the naysayers and the holier-than-thou prudes in power, porn will inevitably become even more popular and common, thus maintaining the demand for a market to cater to nearly every perversion out there. "It's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. That's the way your hardcore Commie works." - Gen. Jack D. Rippper, Dr. Stranglove Edited on Jun 24, 2010, 11:02pm

I clicked the link and read the article. Denys Defrancesco says that "the adult business is in danger of collapsing," but on what basis? He doesn't give a shred of evidence nor any links to any. He tells the other sites to stop posting hardcore: "I am aware that this will not happen overnight but I [sic] everybody’s responsibility to begin to censor their new galleries (put only soft content) and remove from your servers the old hardcore galleries ..." So the answer is to go totally softcore? Would that end piracy? I doubt that. Here's an idea: Stop reposting old content as if it's new or different on all the different sites you run. If you stop pissing off your customers that way, you might, with time, regain your subscriber base and keep it for a while. I wanted something new, so I left England for New England.

In the freely available preview galleries.
But here's the problem - he knows exactly how reposting old content has affected his bottom line, affected his customer base, while you are guessing at it. I'd be willing to bet he has a better bottom line now than when he was pushing out two brand new full sets daily.

Like others said so well, it's called Capitalism. I compete against the great thing called capitalism every business day. Being profitable and competitive every day in my business is hard work. The formula is quite simple: the Four P’s, Price, Place, Product and Promotion. The porno industy needs to understand the changing habits of consumers. The freebie Internet surfers are a small part of the actual market. Deliver a good site and clients will find you. Why sites don’t promote full access at $9.99 for three day rates is beyond me with some downloand manger restrictions but with full stream viewing is always was a mystery to me. If you stay on then charge the full monthly acess. The porno industry is far from dead. It's called marketing. Denys you sound like the liberal newspapers that want the government to save them. I say look at your business plan and work harder. Will
