Updates on the future of Porn Users? A couple of years ago, there were some posts by the staff of Porn Users that there would be one or more sites that would replace the Porn Users site. Have there been any recent developments on this? Are the new sites (or site) still under development, or has the project been delayed or dropped? If still under development, is there a test site that we can look at to see how the project looks currently? I'm not a member of Twitter or Facebook, so I probably missed out on most of the news of the Porn Users replacement site, if that's where the updates are posted. But I have looked at https://www.myporn.com/, which seems to be the gateway to the PU replacement site. | |

I hope that the new site is a success but the state of the porn industry is such that I still can't see how they can make a living when so many are barely surviving. Just look at the number of sites that have stopped updating, those that are struggling and then look at all the new sites that are for the most part really not new so much as the same old stuff being repackaged under a different name or too can get all their stuff from one of your active membership. I used to love visiting TBP's "New Porn Sites" section because once upon a time you actually could find something worth looking at and luckily sometime worth joining but I can't say that I have seen too many worth while sites in the last 2-3 years. There have been a few but mostly what I see these days are mostly mobile versions of a sites I already have access to or sites I never wanted access to. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Thanks Khan for the heads up!  We've been quietly but aggressively working behind the scenes on MyPorn.com. I'm very appreciative to everyone who has supported this project since it was first announced. We've raised 700k in the past few months from angel investors to really power the final development stages and provide a marketing boost for launch. The overall scope for MyPorn has narrowed and I'm happy to report that TheBestPorn and PornUsers will remain our dedicated review platform and operate independently alongside MyPorn. We're moving forward without a review platform on MP, and dedicating the resources toward our featured movie and forum software. Out of good faith to our loyal community members I've included some of the newest designs to digest. This is a "mockup" of the new MyPorn homepage and a movie page. ^I may be pessimistic but I can't see what changing the sites will do to improve the lack of general interaction. The harsh reality is that it's hard to talk about all the great porn being made when there is so little of it and as much as I love to talk about various subjects. At some point there is nothing left to say and I think this is sort of where we are now. I tend to participate more on the ADT forum but although they tend to mostly stick to porn. They touch on more subjects than most people here want to do and that's why I am more active there. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

They also have porn stars as members, right? I know we have a few webmasters as members but I don't remember the last time any of them have posted. (Admittedly, I've just come back to PU after a few months break, so if I'm mistaken, please excuse my ignorance.) Still, pessimism aside, I've always loved how PU has remained civil. Yes, a growing number of other sites have started to grow up as well, even in their comments section, but as long as I've been a member PU has been consistent in this regard.  And the absence I mentioned above was because of a kind of burned out feeling I got from other sites. It was not from any disinterest in Porn Users or porn, just a disgust from the trollish cynicism that you encounter when trying to participate more publicly in the web. ^ADT does have a few performers that interact with the various posters but the level of civility is not very good and too many of the posters can say some harsh things to the women. ADT would be better served if they took example of the way people are on the PU forum. I don't remember the last time a webmaster posted anything in the forum but some still reply to comments and that is probably a better thing. I still try to interact in the forum but it's getting harder because I'm losing interest in what is being talked about and so many of the people I enjoyed interacting with have left. I'm glad you are back. Long live the Brown Coats. | |

Thoughts, observations or bitching, I always enjoy reading a Wittyguy reply! TBP/PU will run independently for a few reasons. We chose not to incorporate reviews into MyPorn and keep it focused on movies as our primary content. The site become too bloated/complex, so we had to scale back. With that said, the movies area is amazing! I couldn't be more proud of the end result. Sadly the PU forum has slowly dwindled. We have put a lot of technology into our new forum system at MyPorn, and we'd love our community here to join. I'd love to keep this forum up and running also for the members who still value it.
