Hey graymane... I'm probably looking forward to this more than yourselves, remember, I'm bisexual, love womens bodies and like you guys, a little immune to fake moans, smiles and the hardcore stuff that is seriously overdone.. I agree the model appearing small can be a problem, but this can be minimised with careful framing & a suitable background. It's going really well. Got my backdrops and lighting this week and first "proper model" i.e paid real rates lol, on Wednesday and arriving twice weekly for the next few weeks.. I'll be making the site with updates and newsletter soon, so you can all keep up to date. Thing is, if I hand it to TBP without loads of pictures, I get down graded straight away. Sounds good, MK. Reclining shots means pictures of the model laying down either on a bed, sofa, lawn chair .. what have you .. without any part of her having been cropped. There are way too many sets on other sites where, once the model is nude, you see truncated close ups of either the torso or the lower bits. This may be necessary for a complete set but keep it down to a couple a set, more than that and it is boring. Others may want to correct me on this but I suspect most PUs in here feel the same way. We would rather see a model's face or a whole body shot, this is very important to many of us. This is also why we ask for landscape shots. It's the ideal way of showing the whole model. If the model is standing up it takes a bit of cropping so she won't get lost in the scenery but when lying down she looks really good on a wide screen monitor. Yumm! | |

Well, up till now we were talking mostly about reclining models but you don't have to feel restricted to only taking pictures like that. I find that if you take the pictures in nice surroundings, standing up is great as well. Just crop anything above and below the model so that she will fill the screen, at the same time leave everything that shows on the sides so the picture is roughly 16:9. Looks really nice on the wide screen monitor. | |

Don't I know it! And I'll never understand why and that's the truth! Unless the model is positioned so far back in the picture that she's being dwarfed by the scenery. But your cautionary remarks are still right on as a warning to someone who is tempted to open a new site. There are many users who prefer portrait, just as there are users who prefer striped little girls' cotton panties or socks. I belong to a site right now where someone praises every set where the model wears socks while to me it's a sure turn off. In another site someone keeps commenting in connection with every update on how nice it would be if the model did anal, while I am opposed, or at least indifferent to it. Takes all kinds. And that's okay. My fear is that if MistressKent starts a new site that attempts to please all tastes she'll just be imitating the big guys who do that already. And will therefore go under because they have so much more material to offer. If I were taking a chance on starting something I would go for niche, and do something very few others do because the demand is so small. With millions watching and buying Porn it might still provide for a pretty good living. But, of course, the decision will be up to MK. | |

I don't think you have to worry too much about anything "going down" -- especially if your membership base gets off the ground and starts building. In retrospect, I think Capn said it here best in his last post: "That kind of shot works fully clothed, part clothed or nekkid." This model definitely compliments what she's wearing, and kudos are in order for the photographer and/or the one who orchestrated everything about the layout of this picture. Noted: Her Stockings (if a must) does favorably stop short of covering too much thigh ... a vital erotic region. Her legs are closed just enough to wet the appetite of viewers to want more. Partly reclined, but hopefully taking on fully reclined positions as the sets progress. Great metered full-body angle shot.... denoting more of the same, with varied positions.  At 53 years of age, it has been a long time since anybody called me that!Well, there are all sorts of variables at work here. You are always going to get the smart alecs who grumble 'there isn't much content here' with any new site. Whether you get a hit on your hands depends on the quality & content/update rate/pricing equation. I think if you pitch in with a reasonable subscription rate with a discount for longer term membership you should get things rolling. In the longer term membership interaction helps with loyalty to a site, so a forum may be worth considering. Usually you get a considerable number of folk registering, but it is notoriously difficult to get members to actually 'say' anything.  From a personal point of view the billing company is vital. If you don't have Epoch as an option I won't be able to join. Despite dozens of emails & months of discussion I can't get CCBill to acknowledge that for CC purposes my little island home is part of the UK. Frankly, I am past caring about dealing with them. That is a decent enough update rate, up with the top echelon. Even if it is 'only' one photoset, that will be fine. As long as you are providing fresh material that regularly, there will always be a reason for frequent visits to the site. If you can get your customers to be revisiting daily, you will be doing very well. At that rate the archive should build up quite nicely. I am looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labours! That really depends on what type of preview you would offer. It is much easier to please customers when you are offering a selection in return for a membership. If one doesn't strike the mark another will. Pay per set is trickier as there is more chance of the customer being less than satisfied. On the odd occasion I have purchased a single set, I haven't been satisfied with it & haven't bought any more. On balance I would say a membership site gives you a better chance of repeat business. Feedback is the key to success. You are more likely to get that from subscribed members rather than a casual purchaser of one photoset. Cap'n.
