WHAT TO DO WHEN SITES NOT WORKING! What can you do when you join a site and E mails go unanswered? I joined a site that is legit as I've had no problem t other times from the same site. I joined via Epoch third party agent. Although there is nothing wrong with ability to download from other sites and my internet connection is super fast 34 mbs, I keep getting a "network error message" half way through download. Repeated requests to customer service get no reply. What would you do? Pornpundit Edited on Apr 20, 2014, 02:40pm

First of all, which site it this? What do you mean by legit? Are they a major network? Sorry for stating the obvious, but first things first, make sure to check your spam folder. What do you mean by a "network error message?" Which browser or download manager are you using? Which OS are you running? When customer service doesn't answer your emails, there honestly isn't much you can do. Sometimes if you wait, they may reply a month or so later. You can contact Epoch though, because unanswered emails from support are a valid cause to ask for a refund. If Epoch also can't reach support, they should give you your money back. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off.

It doesn't always work, but even on sites that don't allow download managers, I still try to use one. The trick is to disable the acceleration (in other words, not download a file in multiple concurrent pieces) and just download at normal speed. The advantage is that you might be able to resume a broken download if the server allows it. Sarcasm is a body's natural defense against stupidity.

Thanks Raging, Yup I have tried, trying to restart the link works for a few seconds then times out again with browser error message. I think the important thing here is that there is, in fact, a problem with their server however I can not get a reply from customer support. Yes it is a medium size network but regarding the name of the site I'm not yet ready to bad mouth them yet as this may still be a glitch. I have tried to resolve the issue using both their ticket system and their direct email. Pornpundit

I just found out on WowGirls the site is buggy on Firefox, I switched to Chrome ( I hate Chrome) but it works fine now. I would try switching browsers but same for me no answers from support. These site owners need to step up and get a grip on what customer service is. Since 2007

I respect that. I've been in similar situations, in fact, I just heard back from a certain webmaster 4 months after emailing her. I held back on bad mouthing her, because she runs a tiny site from the early 2000's that I joined mostly for sentimental value, and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm still a little bit confused about your problem, because I don't know of a browser that returns "network error message" when it encounters problems. Usually they provide more information. Also, let me reiterate that you should contact the biller. Not only does it set you up for a refund if you decide to go that route, but the webmaster is more likely to respond to an email from the biller than from you. The biller will not want to give you a refund, so they will usually try to contact the webmaster themselves in these situations. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off.

Here's my fabulous : As others have suggested, first try using a different browser and trying to download at various times of day. A lot of sites don't keep up with browser upgrades and they can slow to a crawl during peak traffic times. Second, if you've only been a member for a few days to a week then I'd try the billing processor to see if they can refund your money on the grounds that the site doesn't work. This is usually a long shot but you never know. Assuming you've been trying to contact the website via email I'd keep trying once a day for a week or so making clear in the email message line that the site isn't working. Chances are that if they don't respond to that email or get the site working again then they just don't care. If it's a small or niche site then you might try emailing them again in a month or two to let them know what happened and to see if you'll reimburse or renew your membership at no cost (again, a long shot). Lastly, post a comment about the site here at PU (at other review sites too if you want) letting users know that things ain't working and this particular site may be turning into a scam. I know that when it comes to smaller sites that are run by a single person that life events can sometimes lead them to neglect what is going on. However, to let it get to the point that you can't access what you paid for is too much in my book. "Bidness be bidness" and if you can't deliver or make arrangements to have someone cover for you then you're going to catch flack for it so let them have it.

Speaking from the point of view of a website owner, what I do find really annoying is when a customer e-mails me but then their spamfilter or ISP block my replies. They often don't know I'm replying and send me increasingly irate e-mails. Sometimes replying from an unrelated e-mail address works (but causes confusion) but not always. I always reply to all customer service requests, but sadly technology sometimes gets in the way. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

Ok, Let me bring you all up to date. First, let me start off by thanking Epoch third party biller for refunding my money! I only wish I could get as great customer service from my bank! They refunded my money after I received the following Email from the network "Hello, Can you please to do the next actions to check the right connection with our server. Please press Run and write cmd in the computer search field. When the command prompt will open write there: tracert bbwbet.com After it finish to run please copy the noted output and attach to this email. Well this is not my first rodeo so I was more then slightly confused. Say what? I had to Google "tracert" to have any clue. Are they saying to me that they don't have a clue as to my connection with their server? Please! It is great to know that the third party biller had my back! Thanks everyone, have a porny day lol.
