Brits declining Web filters ... Someone just brought this to my attention ... Brits declining Web filters don’t love porn, they just love freedom http://www.digitaltrends.com/opinion/goo...es-porn-censorship/#!bnmOWE Former PornUsers Senior Administrator Now at: MyPorn.com "To get your ideas across use small words, big ideas, and short sentences."-John Henry Patterson

Wow I had to bite my tongue, on this one, as everyone should know by now why and how I push our Constitutional Rights in the USA. Just remember this article from a place that added cameras everywhere, banned guns and now is attacking freedom to read what you want to. Its why here, in American liberals and conservatives alike better wake up. You do not have to like what others do, but if they have a freedom, don't go along with the ride to limit it at all, just because you do not like the right they have. In the USA, I have the Right to watch porn if I want. As long as it is legal the law can not say anything. If I want to stand in the street and yell, fuck, cunt, asshole I can. And if want to do it dressed in pink tights and wearing and AK-47 while making out with a guy in the middle of the street I can. Will everyone like it ? NO............ITS Called freedom. Thats what Freedom is. I am not bashing the UK, in fact in Wales our family has a coat of arms. I love the place not the politics. This is a pretty scary place to be, this on the heals Friday 25th, Google got permission to block from search engines websites with vary leniency on guidelines. Where it could block, porn, firearms, gay sites what ever they wanted from searches. This is over seas for now too. But Bing is watching to see where it goes. Since 2007

I am so glad that the UK people voted by click of the mouse and opted out of this filter. With less than 10% opting in, this filter looks like another multi-million dollar embarrassment. No politician wants a project like that on their hands, so hopefully this will make them think twice before attempting similar projects elsewhere. Better to be pissed on, than to be pissed off.

However, looks like google may still sidebar some of this and block sites on there own that was approved by the courts over there they could proceed. Since 2007

"As long as it is legal the law can not say anything." Surely that statement is meaningless? Changes in the law can restrict what is legal by definition (ie making something that used to be legal, illegal. The change in the rules in the UK just meant that filters become the default instead of an option. Everyone can get the filter switched off whenever they want. The problem lies that some people are too embarrassed to phone up their ISP and request to no longer have adult content filtered. That's what adult sites are worried about. The same thing has been in effect for MUCH longer on mobiles, and places like hotels have been filtering their WIFI for years now. The UK government come under a lot of pressure to make sure that kids can't see porn online (a known and growing problem), but as soon as they do something about it, everyone starts shouting about freedom infringements etc. They can't win and they're always far too far behind the curve to come up with a solution. Personally I think children should be the responsibility of parents, but MPs never have the guts to say that. Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

Personally I think most MPs that purportedly do things for the sake of the children are being insincere, using that excuse because it's popular and hard to disagree with, whilst truly motivated by influential media lobbyists.

I agree using its for the children is total BS. It makes it seem that if you are not for it, you are against kids and safety, totally bullshit moves. We need a middle finger icon lol Since 2007

It's a classic example of there being two extremes and a grey area in the middle (as most situations are), where politicians include the grey area in with the bad extreme to persuade people to agree with them (the if you're not with us you're against us argument). Politicians do the same thing with terrorism. Saying that if you don't agree with new laws, torture or invading foreign countries then you are siding with the terrorists. It happens a lot, but most people don't notice it (which I guess is why they get away with it). Webmaster of StripGameCentral and A Measure of Curiosity.

I was thinking two things school shootings and Pitbulls. Yes people can get shot at schools or anywhere else for that matter. But what they do is go after the law abiding gun owners instead of addressing the mentally ill psychopath that shot up the school. Pittbulls can be bred to be violent, I had a Rottweiler that would eat Pitbulls for a snack. He was not violent either. Yet now every owner of a pittbull or Rott is guilty of owning a violent animal. Its the owners not dogs fault. Its the crazy guy with the gun, not the guns fault. Guns and Dogs do not hurt people. careless and insane owners of both do. Since 2007
