Ditto the problem with Firefox. Whenever I first click into a forum thread I get a messed up page. Hit "refresh" and everything lays out fine.

"Must haves" imply quality and quantity and a mix of stuff that would appeal to most people. For hardcore, I'd have to say that would include Teenmegaworld, 21sextury, DDF studios, Brazzers (much as it breaks my heart to admit it) and probably something like X-art or Wowgirls.

Yay, free money! That's probably the general feeling around here.

As for changes ... mmmmm. The last system worked pretty well overall. The only downside with the old system is that it probably lead some to game the system by giving "trust" votes to inactive members and pointless "feedback" to rack up enough points to enter a raffle (Confession: I did this a few times). However, if the goal is to increase overall participation then I probably wouldn't deviate from the old format. It just gets too time consuming and subjective to only give raffle tickets for "quality" participation. If it were me, I'd probably just use the same format / rules as before and maybe tweak it later if need be.

I got no problem if there was a dedicated section set up for webmaster promo's. I just don't want to log in and see 20 new forum threads, each one just a new promo for a site. A section for promo's would probably be better on the TBP site as opposed to PU since PU is supposed to user generated content.

No offense but this seems like spam to me. While I appreciate letting people know that you got new stuff I don't want to see the forum turn into a "look at our newest update" posting site. If you have something to say, great. If you're just here to promote, do that somewhere else. Edited on Sep 04, 2015, 03:01pm

I see that Samsung is about to release a 16 tb flash based hard drive (similar to a solid state drive) which, if it's not outrageously priced, could end a lot of peoples worries over storage and linking drives together.

I look at it this way: You know you're giving out personal and financial information to a website where you're hoping to engage in some hanky panky that could have serious implications on your marriage. Mmmm, did the thought of a possible future hack ever enter your mind. If you were too stupid to not use a prepaid credit card and to create separate and anonymous email account then you're probably going to get what you had coming. Thinking with your small parts first can lead to harm to the larger parts later on.

In all honesty I stay away from porn in social media. I don't use twitter and don't use instagram. For me, I use TBP and PU as one stop platforms in the sense that the bulk of my time spent on porn (time that doesn't involve site usage or editing my collection) is spent here. Basically there's too many other things for me to do or that I should be doing without dragging porn into my limited social media time.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing some more industry news posted here. I used to follow some of that but don't any more. The lifestyle stuff I can do without since I'm probably not of the demographic that cares about that stuff.

Sorry I'm a bit of a downer on the topic but there ya go. Hopefully others will have more to say. At any rate, good lick and welcome to the community.

I reserved a copy but haven't downloaded yet. I never really want to be one of the first out of the gate with a new operating system even though they did a large scale beta with 10. I've heard that they've changed some stuff regarding the way photos are viewed and stored and since that's the bulk of my collection I'm waiting to read up more on the subject before leaping.

I never use the button. If it were red and said "Don't press this button EVER!" then it might be worth saving but not in it's present form.

Welcome Amanda and good luck following in Khan's footsteps as he has done an admirable job at keeping things in line (both behind the scenes and in front) here at PU. I will note that I do feel a tad bit of disappointment in no longer being able to whip out a "Wrath of Khan" Star Trek quote any more.

First off, realize that most of us who contribute a lot here at PU aren't the typical porn consumer. We collect porn (if not out right hoard it), we edit our troves and we're willing to pay for it because we support the industry and we want the quality without the headaches of searching all over the web for free content. We take our porn seriously (some of us too seriously) and we've been around the porn block a few dozen times. We like PU because we get to express our opinions which are infinitely better (at least my opinions are) than most review sites. Because you have to be able to write that probably makes PU a more "refined", for lack of a better word, users club over most other places on the web and we tend to like it that way - the civility and range of topics that come up here.

As for what I like the most, first would probably be the discounts (both full membership and full trials). Second would be user reviews and comments and third would be the forum. I'll note that a lot us like the technical specs that TheBestPorn publishes as part of their reviews (pic sizes, bit rates, file sizes, download managers, etc.) since that helps us assess the quality of the content on a site.

Anyway, in no particular order, here's a few things I wouldn't mind seeing changed around here:

1. Add a "like" button for use on reviews, comments, and forum postings. Like everyone else I've gotten lazy and used to social media and would like to be able to express an opinion with a single click.

2. Participation at PU really dropped off with the death of the raffle a couple of years ago (Rick's premature announcement of the MyPorn project caused another drop but we can ignore that for now). I imagine user participation would pick up again if some reincarnated version of the raffle came back. I'm not saying it has to be like it was with $200 Tuesday ($2000 Tuesday would be awesome though) but rewarding people for their input would definitely boost the content level and the overall value of PU to sites linking into it.

If the raffle doesn't come back then some sort of reshuffling of the personal Badges you can earn is in order since they are now mostly meaningless.

3. Obviously, the site itself sort of has a shag carpeting / paneled walls retro look going for it which could use some freshening up.

That's all I got for now. Best wishes on the new gig.

Intellectual property is like a trip to bizarro land or trying to get your head around quantum mechanics when the world you know is Newtonian based. I know you can't trademark a person's given birth name but if you name your kid "Coca Cola" don't expect them to be able to make money off their name or even be able to advertise their name; the legal bills would dwarf the college fund. Stage names can be trademarked as, I think, real names but only in conjunction with a marketable product or service. It only gets more complicated from there.

Part of the reason for the czech porn craze is that it's illegal to shoot porn in Russia and the Ukraine (though the latter also have other issues at the moment) and a few other Eastern Euro countries and it's cheap and easy to move models from those countries to the Czech and Slovakian republics for shoots (for those who actually care about obeying those laws). I also tend to believe that new studio or two have popped up there which are catering to the West.

Short answer: "Not in our lifetime."

Slightly longer answer: Too many stigmas still associated with porn. It's not just another collection like stamps, coins and kitchen cozies. Most of the public still at least subconsciously attach any number of mental #hashtags with porn - pervert, sexual deviant, misogyny, having problems with the gf/bf, stalker, peeper, masturbation, etc. "Porn" is still a loaded word that ain't coming out of the closet any time soon.

This list looks pretty random in that you can allow double anal penetration gang bangs but not allow someone to rub their butt in someone's face for a few seconds or permit a 40 year old milf in a cheerleader outfit to say "I'm just a young teen girl". Obviously a list put together by bureaucrats who would probably find the pinup girls of the 1940's very risque.

As usual, the case for censorship is the "protection of children" which is rather stupid in that kids aren't even supposed to have access to porn sites. Of course, everyone knows that once any impressionable young person watches a bdsm scene you know they're immediately going to assume that's they only way they're ever going to have sex the rest of their lives ("Bring out the gimp")

I've made the point numerous times here in the forum that the next wave of porn censorship will not be lead by social conservatives who want to ban all porn but rather under the headline act of protecting kids. Yet kids can still watch incredibly horrific acts of violence, listen to musicians go on about killing whoever for whatever trivial reason (don't even think of playing those heavy metal music l.p.'s backwards), and of course read any number of worthless lurid and violent crap postings on the web. In other words, when they say it's about protecting kids it's really only just protecting whatever

Of course, all this does is drive otherwise law abiding people to circumvent their own countries laws by connecting with foreign servers, using false proxy addresses and other gimics any kid could tell you how to do. In the end, the only people who win are the same bunch of bureaucrats who will get to hire more bureaucrats to keep a careful on the internet and watch extreme porn all day while spending even more government money on enforcing laws that don't mean squat at the end of the day. Guess all you Brits better buckle down for the day when this is about as extreme as internet porn will get.

Nothing happened the last few years in Congress and nothing will happen now. Gridlock forever is the current motto. Besides, porn is not on anyone's radar in D.C. leading into a presidential election cycle.

About the only change I expect to see is on a local or state level like we've seen with the condom laws in Cali. Most of the "porn issues" are primarily within the industry itself.

Definitely with Drooler on this in that I spend a fair amount of time editing sets. I usually download the zip and then pick out the best 30 or so pics that I want. This used to be no problem but at least more sites are now giving you hundreds of pic as opposed the few dozen you got years ago.

If there's a lot of white space / dead space I'll frequently crop the pic down. I also like to crop out the watermark if I'm going that far and sometimes flip the pics on their axis 180 degrees so you get some different angles instead of the same repetition. Poorly lit, fuzzy crap and b.s. like that doesn't even get downloaded.

I use a 23" monitor and have no real interest in sending my pics up to a large tv so I rarely download the largest dimensions unless they are smaller (under 3k pixels) to begin with.

What makes porn more of a hobby for me is the fact that I will mess around with pics and customize the sets according to my excellent taste standards. That's what make "picture porn pervs" who they are I think. I do grab vids but only the best of the best and I don't watch them that often.

Here's a link to an interesting article about the "dark web" and the motivation behind people hacking into cloud accounts (most of the stuff hacked is never publicly shared). Regarding the celeb cell phone hacks it sounds like somebody tried to profit off it and made a big oops by doing so.

I used to visit several sites but pretty much have given that up for here. I found that most review sites simply pump up the scores (everything is above average ... just like me) and are plastered with links. Besides you don't get to interact much beyond the noobs posting obnoxious comments (like this one).

At this point, I know what I like and what I'm willing to pay for and if there is something new and good on the horizon it will appear here or at TBP so I don't worry about it.

Actually I didn't realize the credit cards even had such limitations. I know that they won't process transactions for things that are illegal (businesses that sell pot in states where it is legal to do still can't do credit cards because it's illegal under federal law) but that was it.

My guess is that S&M borders on the edge of "obscene content" which doesn't have first amendment protections. The card companies are probably playing it safe in the event some site gets hit with obscenity charges and then customers or the feds start suing under some wacko legal theory to extract money from the one source they know actually has money. Promoting obscenity is a federal crime (though I don't think any court has ever said that a card service or billing processor is "promoting" by letting people pay to access a porn site) so this may also be weighing in on the reasoning. A lot of copyright / patent trolls have been shut down in recent years because courts will no longer let them file class action lawsuits against IP addresses like they used to do. You pretty much have to go after individuals or individual IP addresses now. However, the penalties and fines can be huge (not to mention attorney fees) in these cases and they not really in proportion to the actual damages incurred by a company even when someone is illegally downloading vids. At the moment there really is no "good and/or easy way" to fix the problem on either end of the problem and so we are stuck with the status quo. Another reason I guess to stick with paying a few bucks for your porn viewing pleasure.

Good luck with that Josiah. We've had others here in the past talk about writing a porn stash database manager before but apparently nothing has come of it. I think the big problem is that the user has to spend a lot of time creating tags and otherwise playing with the downloads that it becomes more of a job than what it's worth. Still I hope it works out for you and let us know if you succeed ... if so then

Let's face it, none of those "casting videos" where the situation suddenly turns hardcore happen by accident. Everyone signs paperwork and gets tested ahead of time (at least in the U.S.). Porn is fantasy and the onscreen setup for these types of shoots is the end product in a business model.

I'm rather surprised by reading about the contract clause that requires these girls to pay more than what they got up front if the back out (this is probably a liquidated damages clause). It's doubtful a casting company would back more that what they paid the girl if it went to court but the dollar amount is low enough that it's unlikely a girl would hire a lawyer to fight it or that the companies chase down the girls who don't do more than refund the upfront money.

As for the moral issues surrounded by creepy porn producers looking for ASU hotties, I say that I'd rather see them trying to lure in college students rather than hanging out at high school senior events or chasing women who are in truly economically dire situations. Pretty much every one thinks they are smarter than what they really are at that age and doesn't fully appreciate the consequences of all the actions they take. While admittedly painting with a broad brush, I'd say at least college girls probably have more of a sense of what they are getting into than your average high school grad or dropout. Does that necessarily mean they are making a good decision .... ?

I've run into situations where I've had my plastic denied when I know there is no good reason for doing so. When I've been redirected to a secondary processing site I never sign up. I wait a day and see if any charges go through on my card. If no charges, I try the primary processor again. If denied again, I wait another day (see if charge shows up) and if I'm good then I'll use the secondary processor. So far no burn marks on my skin from using this protocol. It's just that it requires patience which, if we're ready to join, is something that's hard to take.

You can always "hide" your online viewing by getting a prepaid credit card and then use that to feed your porn habit. Those just show up as purchases (if you buy them using a credit card -- actually just pay cash or use a debit card), not as a separate credit card account on your history.

Here's my fabulous :

As others have suggested, first try using a different browser and trying to download at various times of day. A lot of sites don't keep up with browser upgrades and they can slow to a crawl during peak traffic times.

Second, if you've only been a member for a few days to a week then I'd try the billing processor to see if they can refund your money on the grounds that the site doesn't work. This is usually a long shot but you never know.

Assuming you've been trying to contact the website via email I'd keep trying once a day for a week or so making clear in the email message line that the site isn't working. Chances are that if they don't respond to that email or get the site working again then they just don't care. If it's a small or niche site then you might try emailing them again in a month or two to let them know what happened and to see if you'll reimburse or renew your membership at no cost (again, a long shot).

Lastly, post a comment about the site here at PU (at other review sites too if you want) letting users know that things ain't working and this particular site may be turning into a scam.

I know that when it comes to smaller sites that are run by a single person that life events can sometimes lead them to neglect what is going on. However, to let it get to the point that you can't access what you paid for is too much in my book. "Bidness be bidness" and if you can't deliver or make arrangements to have someone cover for you then you're going to catch flack for it so let them have it.

Probably true but most of these people, if they don't know porn, probably don't make it past the first page or two of a google search for "porn". It's only once you get tired of the endless searching and mediocre quality on tube sites and start looking into pay porn that the top of the heap start to emerge and rather quickly. Since most people aren't into paying for porn I'd say that porn name recognition doesn't really matter much to the general public and companies like DDF are better off spend their advertising bucks at a more select demographic.

Mmmmm. X-mas gift cards are now really "X"-mas gift cards. Actually this is a pretty cool concept.

I saw this article yesterday that talks about the difficulty porn stars have in keeping their private lives private. Although not directly on point, I think there are definitely some overlaps as to why we don't see so many women posting here:
