Ok, think we tracked down the problem. Seems you created two accounts. Ed2008 - which has the SIG and avatar Ed2009 - no SIG or Avatar ... and the one you're posting with here. You should either add the SIG and avatar to the account you're posting with or else post with the account that already has those associated with it. Just a guess here but ... I suspect what you're seeing is what program is associated with that type of file. For example, when you installed winrar it associated all .rar and .zip files with itself. To check this thoroughly, you'll need to make sure you're seeing the actual file extension with the file name. That would tell you if the file is actually being renamed (doubtful) or if it's just the association (which program is set to the default to open that type file) that changes. I think Rick's post should answer atrapat's remarks about why some "networks" have individual sites listed and why some don't. I did want to go on record that we have no policy against posting reviews for individual sites w/in a network as long as each review is original. In other words, we don't want to see a lot of cut-n-paste remarks for multiple sites across a network. For those interested in knowing ... One of the main risks for producing porn outside of CA (and perhaps parts of FL) is the risk of being charged with Pandering for arranging sex for pay. It's allowed in CA (technically, only parts of CA) only because there's legal case history to support the producing of porn as being apart from prostitution. Just a few remarks on the .xxx thing .... First, one of the main reasons you keep seeing this come up is because there are certain groups that are looking to make LOTS of money with .xxx domain registrations. If you dig enough, you'll usually see one of those groups behind every push to readdress the issue. Also, more than a few WM's who were late to the game would love to see the field leveled so they could have a chance to prime domain names who's dot com version were scooped up in the early days. Finally, in the past, when ICANN takes another look at this they've had a period where they welcome public opinion on the issue. In the past, mostly adult WM's spoke against it as few porn surfers are willing to go on record as defending their right to access porn. So, if it opens up again, consider speaking out against .xxx It's one thing to grumble in the corner but quite another to stand up and speak your piece on record. Oh, one last thing ... What many people don't realize is it's not just the sending and receiving end that can use .xxx to do a blanket ban on porn sites. The way the Internet works, the page you're viewing may pass through any number of servers in route to you. With .xxx in place, it'd be WAY too easy for some of those servers to simply refuse to route adult traffic. You can bet that, if passed, there will be right wing groups lobbying to have any group who receives federal funding (like universities) to block routing of porn related traffic. Just something to help you understand just how ugly things could get with .xxx mandated. I see TBP Editors were seeing the same thing last December. Like you, they tried contacting the site owners but got no reply. So, they disabled the listing for that site and all others owned by the same company. Hope that helps. Well guys, I'm back for now. Thank you all for the well wishes. It's been a really rough few days tucked in the middle of a really rough winter here. Our power went out last Friday and just came back on late last night. As Rick mentions, we live in the woods, which means we're at the bottom of everyone's priority list when it comes to getting the downed lines fixed. Of course it also means when you lose power, your water, heat and pretty much everything else is out. Our driveway is a football field and a half long but luckily, we hire guy to plow us out after the worst storms. It got down to 3degrees one of those nights and to say the house got cold would be an understatement. On the plus side, the wife keeps us pretty well stocked in water and soup. We had a small camp stove for heating food and a small wood stove to keep us from freezing altogether. Suffice it to say, this winter ain't been any fun !! Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience my absence caused. Thanks again for the good wishes and we'll hope that though there's still several feet of snow on the ground, that the power stays on from now on. I'm not BadAndy but perhaps can shed some light on this one. A USB hub should handle several drives w/out any problem. If you're concerned about the power drain, then there are USB Hubs that have thweir own power supply. I have one from Belkin but the computer suggest I disconnect the power supply as it wasn't needed. Also, the USB ports on the front of the computer *should* handle external drives just like the ones in the rear do. As far as personal experience, I use a hub and frequently have two externals plugged into it at the same time. I pass data between the two (so they're basically running at the same time) and have never experienced any problems. Hope that helps. Most virus checking software can scan a zip file. What you might want to do if you're unsure is download it (as a zip) scan it and if it's clean (it most likely is) then unzip it. FWIW, zip files are pretty standard for distributing large files. Wrong-O Webmasters often block links to images that they consider hot-linking. Not sure what the situation is with the link to imageshack. It's possible the owner of the pic had it blocked as a copyright infringement. A 403 (Forbidden) error is *always* something generated by the hosting server. I fear you mistake my position on the subject. Personally, I hate regional pricing and feel it's unfair. And yes, I agree, higher prices in brick-n-mortor location has other factors. Yet that does not mean it's not become a standard marketing practice to charge what a seller thinks a market can bear. That's something your ISP should be able to help you with. I'm guessing (based on what you're saying) that your IP makes it look like you're in Japan. Can't guess what could be causing that but again, your ISP should be able to help sort it out. That's why you only see it for CCBill charges. Like it or not, getting charged different prices based on where you're at has become a norm in mainstream marketing. A cup of coffee on Wall Street will not cost the same as the exact same cup of coffee in Po-dunk Iowa. I've heard many stories from Americans who visit Europe that they were charged higher prices than locals for the same item/service. It is unfortunate that sellers everywhere have adopted the practice of charging what they think a market can bear rather than what an item/service is actually worth. But, it's a fact of life. When you see regional pricing at an adult site, just know it's the site OWNER who's made the decision to charge different rates based on location.
