Many thanks for reinstating the raffle - as others have said, it's a good idea to make it just for reviews. This should encourage me to catch reviewing sites I've visited over the past few months... but is there any chance you can also reinstate Amazon UK as a prize option?

The Sex Art suggestion is a good one - same folks, some good couples scenes. If you prefer girls only, though, you should look at The Life Erotic - again from the same stable and just solo scenes (occasional girl-girl) - but more explicit, most scenes have touching/masturbation. Both recommended - over and above Met Art itself, which I always found a bit dull!

You beat me to it, I often refer to that page As you say, Toshiba is still making them also - but only 2.5"... although now they have 3.5" but branded Hitachi... hard to keep up!

Good question! You don't... WD, Seagate and Hitachi are the only companies actually making them now, so as you say, if you buy another branded drive, you don't know what's inside - likely whatever they can buy cheapest at the time. The other route is to buy a hard drive enclosure - an empty box with the USB interface, etc - and buy whatever internal drive you want. Just plug it in.

Messmer, this is the approach I've adopted now (and has already been actively used once!) and although it's not in Gmail, IIRC you can do the same thing very easily in Gmail. If your address is eg messmer@gmail.com, then mail to messmer+anything@gmail.com will also arrive there. So the idea is, when you sign up to nakedladies.com, you do so with the address messmer+nakedladies@gmail.com - no setup is required from you in Gmail (but a good idea to test it first). This means that when you do receive spam, you can: * See what address it was sent to, and therefore know which site may have leaked your address; * Set up a filter in Gmail to ignore mail to that specific address HTH

For images I'm happy to download up to, say, 4K. The reason being, my current monitor is, 2K (1920x1080) but what with all these super-high-res/retina screens in mobiles and tablets, I can see 24" monitors (as opposed to TVs) being 3-4K in the relatively near future and it would be nice to see pics fill it.
Subject to that, of course - would be so much better if they were all landscape! That's just pictures, though. For movies it's different: firstly because although my monitor will display 1080, on a moving image I really can't see any difference in detail between 1080 and 720, so I go for 720. As to 4K movies/TV, I am really struggling to see the point - the difference between 720 and 1080 is actually only detectable if you have a very large screen and/or sit very close to it - in most situations, it's not resolvable by eye. So why they think we need 4K...
Download Handbrake. Easy to use and will re-rip/resize/etc your movies. I do it often - sometimes to resize 1080s, but also to re-encode high bitrate films. Eg SexArt - whose production values are high - encode 720p at 2mbps and they look just fine; Twisty's, bafflingly, used 10mbps to create huge files with no appreciable benefit. This also applies to pictures; some sites are far too conservative, and could be more aggressive with absolutely no visible lack of quality. Here SexArt have gone the other way, with some sets of 1GB - not really necessary for pictures!

Ed2009 - all valid points! Actually I do sell online content and have an affiliate programme (with a similar percentage) - but not adult-based and admittedly with less bandwidth demands than porn or other video. I didn't want to imply that you don't have costs that rise according to the number of users. More just that delivering an individual membership doesn't have a breakeven in the same way a physical product would - hence site owners being able to offer fairly large affiliate commissions. If it's a membership you wouldn't have got otherwise (obviously that's an issue for a site owner to figure out) - it's still money in the bank... and if you actually lost on a 50% commission you wouldn't offer it. Out of interest, how are you charged for bandwidth? Does your web host eg tier it, or is it fully metered? Eg mine (again, not adult) allows me I think 3TB/month and metered after that (although I never come close). Edited on Oct 25, 2013, 04:54am

I think 50% is the norm. Delivering a paysite membership is zero unit cost to the site owner; of course making and running the site costs them money, but unlike a physical product, *me* accessing the site on top of their existing user base is zero cost. So if an affiliate delivers a customer who wouldn't otherwise have joined, that 50% is entirely profit. Hence being able to offer large commissions.

I'm also looking for some milf type content - ie models in 30s/40s and I concur with you and messmer that there are too many fake boobs and samey photography styles around. I've joined Karups OW before and will likely try Anilos since it seems to be the best of the bunch. What looks interesting, though - and maybe not so relevant since I think the focus is more on videos and couples - is momxxx.com - seems to be one of the very few mature heartcore type sites. It's definitely on my list.

One thing I keep forgetting to do... some email providers let you have multiple aliases for your address. Eg gmail lets you have yourname+anythingyoulike@gmail.com as per: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answe...=en&answer=12096 So, eg, when signing up to a site you can give the email address: yourname+dodgysite.com@gmail.com Emails to the address will be delivered as if they were just sent to yourname@gmail.com - but if you receive spam, checking the address they used will help you figure out how they got it - and more easily block it if required.

I'll second RB's recommendation of JoyMii - if you like the other heartcore sites like X-Art etc, then this is my favourite so far. Note that when I was a member, the videos went up to 720, not 1080 - this may still be the case, so confirm if 1080 is a big thing for you. But I tend to download 720 anyway, and they look pretty good.

A shame -the software installed and turned on as expected? I sometimes have a delay when loading a page after turning it on; suspect the computer has DNS or some such issues to figure out. But otherwise it works well for me.
On an HTTPS page, the encryption happens on your computer before it gets transmitted; the VPN operator have no more or less access than anyone else who can intercept your connection - eg your ISP etc. The connection is still encrypted between you and the target site. The could, however, check where you have been and intercept any non-HTTPS traffic. Again, just as eg your ISP can. Either way, TunnelBear seem legit.
I remain more pragmatic; I will not join a site that charges £30 vs $30 - but if I can get round it, I will. Eg Joymii have some of the most enjoyable material I found last year; I would not miss out on it purely on principle.

You don't need to do anything in your browser. You just install the software - it's a separate app, not a browser thing - sign up (unfortunately required) and click the big on/off switch (the other switch is UK/US). Then any sites think you are in the US, regardless of browser. There is a bandwidth allowance for the free version - but if you just turn it on to sign up, you can turn it off again when you actually use the site to download stuff.

I was just revisiting stuff I downloaded from Joymii when a member a while back - I found a video featuring Tarra White, in which the guy massages her with oil... and then she takes his hand in hers, guiding it over her breasts and body, then pressing his fingers into her pussy, guiding his wrist and hand as he fingers her. This really works for me, I found it very erotic - partly because of the heartcore style used by Joymii, but also in general. Does anyone know of any other sites - perhaps the massaged themed ones? - that feature videos/photos with that same specific theme?

I'll second gaypornolover's thanks to PU - I know our input makes TBP more viable but nevertheless it's fun to participate and good when we get a win! It's a (very minor) shame that we can't use the winnings to buy porn subscriptions... but mine have kept me well in topping up my collection of racy photo books NB in response to Khan's note about expiry - at least on amazon.co.uk these certificates are valid just for a year, I think from issue date - whereas those I get from using my amazon credit card seem to have approx 3 years. But if you have multiple certificates on your account, I think it's smart enough to use the earliest expiring ones first. I've just got a while to go until that elusive 8th badge...

I wouldn't bother with DVDs at all - just record them straight onto your computer. Just google/amazon USB Video Capture or something and you'll find plenty of adapters that you can hook up composite video to, and record them. The disk space they take up will likely be cheaper than getting blank DVDs...

Things have changed a bit since this thread started... I just got a new HTC One X - it has a 4.7" screen (admittedly a bit OTT) with 720p resolution. It would make a fine smut viewing device... I intend to put it to the test sometime! Anyone else got one of the current crop of gigantophones, eg a Samsung Note or S3?

Concur - select all pics, alt-space for instant full-screen slideshow. So quick and easy. It's just missing the ability to zoom and pan for the higher-res pics; I've tried alternative apps for it, but I keep going back to just the finder since it's so easy!

Excellent advice - but this applies to internal drives too. They are the same component, just packaged differently. Keeping stuff on your internal drive is intrinsically no more safe than an external - so be sure to back up stuff you keep there too.

I'll add that so will the PS3. I keep stuff on an external hard drive - and I can just unplug it from my computer and plug it into the PS3 and play directly from there. If you have one, it's a good option. Otherwise there are various options that I'm sure others will expand on...

Well, that's not entirely what I'm suggesting; in the join pages I've tested via the VPN, I see the USD price, but it still asks for my address, and allows me to choose UK. So I'm fully stating where I am - if they need to charge a different price, then it should be on that basis. This often happens when I buy software online.
I agree - but tax is really the only cost that could be different when delivering a subscription to a user. I'm not sure how many sites would be VAT registered here - but if they show me their VAT number and itemise the VAT, I will gladly (well, not quite gladly) pay the extra. I guess UK-based sites have to charge VAT to UK customers; some probably take the hit so as not to appear unfair; although a check on eg Only All Sites shows $45 vs £35 - $45 is closer to £29, but 20% VAT makes it up to £35. If that's the case, and they explained it on the site, I'd feel better about the difference. Anyway, if any regional-charging sites are reading this, I suspect they are thinking what I think when looking after my own e-commerce site for work, and having to ensure that discount codes, offers etc are not overused... if somebody thinks they are pulling a fast one on me by actually buying more stuff, then I'm not complaining!

If you are on an unsecured site, then yes - everything that goes through can be spied on by any computer/router/whatever between you and the host site. This applies to public wifi, your own ISP etc, just as much as to VPN suppliers. But as long as you are on https, it's encrypted between your computer and the server - and no more visible to a VPN host than anyone else who may be in between.

Just found this article which seems to explain it well: http://www.howtogeek.com/100361/how-to-o...for-maximum-privacy/ Basically, some of the nicer touches, instant search and the like, necessarily require sending data back to Google; so if you are happy to live without them, they can be turned off.
Well, yes - up to a point. But I don't trust either of them at all - Google with their 'accidental' collection of wireless data will collecting streetview images; Apple with their 'accidental' logging of your location history on iOS...
Chromium is the (Google-driven) open source version; somebody would know and make a fuss if it was doing something untoward. Chrome is basically Google's 'commercial' packaging of this - it differs only in a few features, like some of the google integration and integrated flash player and the like. I also think perhaps Chromium doesn't autoupdate. The Chromium source code is easy to find, if you want to build it - they don't publicise the location of ready-built binaries, but I just found them (thanks for prompting me to do so!) here: http://commondatastorage.googleapis.com/...index.html?path=Mac/ I'm a web developer and - much as I am wary of the big brother aspect as you are - Chrome/Chromium is easily the best browser to work in/with/for.

I'm on a Mac and I use Chrome - I think it was after 5.1 or something that Safari started to get pretty flaky, so I switched - Chrome is, at least for me, easily faster, better and more reliable than me. And for smut viewing purposes, the incognito window feature is very handy! Better than the equivalent on Safari. There's no good alternative to DTA on Chrome, through - so when I join a site that needs a DM, I switch to Firefox; which feels slow in comparison and the version numbering is now just silly. I'm as suspicious of Google as the next man - probably far more so, actually, but then no less suspicious of them than I am of Apple, so for me it's not much of a choice. As long as you don't 'log in' to chrome, and your Google account (if logged in) is set not to track your history, you should be OK. However, one option (which is on my list of things to do) is to find and download a binary of Chromium; it's essentially identical to Chrome but the open source version, so you know there is nothing untoward there. You should be far more wary of Facebook - I believe that if you are logged in, they can track your visits to any site with a FB like button or other FB widgets.

Exactly - even many home accounts can change IP addresses between connections, so it would be a very strict site that only allows one. As TS said, they will be looking out for simultaneous connections, and lots of different IPs, but not allowing a couple would be unreasonable.
Again, as TS said, you can get through 500MB very quickly; this is aimed more at folk wanting to connect to eg iPlayer from outside the UK or Hulu etc from outside the US - in which case you'd definitely need the unlimited package (which is still very modest at $5). I guess the free 500MB is just so you can see how (extremely) easy it is to use. I have a site I want to join with heinous regional pricing - I will try it out in a week or so and report back!

Just happened upon this: http://www.tunnelbear.com/ It's basically a VPN service, that allows you to connect to a remote network. There are other services like this, but this one: * Is extremely easy to set up; download the app, register, and turn it on * Is cheap, and gives you 500MB/month free Once you turn it on, all your activity appears to come from a US IP address. I've not joined any sites using it yet, but the join pages show the expected price in $ so I don't see any issues with joining. The free 500MB account is plenty to get joined up; you could just turn it off after joining to continue browsing/downloading the site. Arguably some sites may block you for using a different IP; but you'd just be using one to register and then your regular one to log in afterwards. For US users, it can also provide a UK IP address for watching BBC stuff etc; but you'd get through that 500MB quickly and need to upgrade to a paid account (although unlimited is only $5). Very cool! Edited on Aug 06, 2012, 04:00pm

I recently bought an SSD - I keep smut etc on an external so I could manage with just a 256gb one for my internal drive, OS, apps and work. As CT suggests, there isn't that much real world difference, since most recent computers are fast enough to do pretty much what you want without making you wait anyway. But startup, app launch, copying etc are much faster; it's also silent, and although a hard drive isn't exactly noisy, the lack of the sound of it is notable.
There are a number of aftermarket caddies around which will do this job; basically an internal-optical-drive shaped hard drive holder. So as long as you don't mind opening it up, it should be doable on most laptops.

Elephant, this is an excellent tip - looks like in some cases it can be used to avoid regional pricing. Eg FTV Girls is on my list - via the site, it only links to CCBill, where the charge is £23.21; whereas searching on Epoch shows it for £20.06. (It also shows a £4.65 7-day trial, but no mention of whether it is limited or not.) Sadly no such luck with Babes Network who I recently berated for equating £ to $; they show Epoch support, but are not to be found with the search.

Good question - it depends on the OS. Typically, your OS elements - windows, controls, menus etc, are designed to a certain number of pixels; so following that, then yes, standard use of the computer on a monitor this high resolution will be difficult - everything will be too small! But OSs are becoming more resolution-independent; Mac OS will scale pretty much everything, Windows perhaps not so much (just a guess). So when you look at this computer, your menus, buttons, etc seem the same size as you'd expect; just they use more pixels, so are much sharper, crisper, than on a regular monitor. But I think it can deal with images smartly and show you them at 1:1 - so you'd see the same image but much, much sharper than you are used to, with more visible detail, without having to zoom in to see it. If you have, or have access to, an iPhone 4/4s (or another recent high-end smartphone), take a close look at it - you'll see you probably can't even see the pixels on the screen, they are so fine - then compare with your own PC monitor, where you can. I'm hoping in the next few years we'll be seeing that kind of resolution on our computers too. Edited on Jun 29, 2012, 06:36am

Nice But... what resolution is your projector? It's probably XGA - 1024x768? So although the pictures are big, you don't see all the detail. With the out-of-my-reach new Apple laptop, you'd see pretty much every pixel of a 3000px image on there. Imagine if you projector could show eg Hegre-Art's ludicrous 80 megapixel images across those 60"...

Has anyone seen the new Macbook Pro? The display is very impressive - 15" 2880x1800px. Most mid-range 15" laptops use 1366x768 - so this has 5 times the pixels in the same screen size and could essentially show a 3000px image full size. I'm mostly a Mac user but wouldn't get one of these now - it's daftly expensive but it's good to see what kind of tech will hopefully filter down to mainstream in the next few years - if you think of scaling that up to a larger screen, we may see perhaps a 22" screen capable of displaying a 5K image. It's definitely worth having an ogle, just to see how incredibly sharp it is - and to think how good it would be for ogling our favourite models For those of us downloading and keeping pictures, that's a good reason to go for the higher-res ones...

Aha! That's one I forgot. It's particularly relevant for me, since I'm into legs, nylons and mild fetish - which often features smoking too. It's a huge turn-off for me, both in porn and in real life.

I have relatively vanilla tastes, so quite a few things don't appeal to me. Anal sex doesn't work for me; I quite like mild fetish wear but not more extreme BDSM. Hardcore in general isn't my thing - although that may be changing, as Elephant suggests, with sites like X-Art (I've yet to be a member) and Joymii (which I've reviewed) - although all rather dreamy and glamourous, the sex seems to be approaching, well, actual sex that loving couples would have. I guess for that reason, group sex (>2 participants in any configuration) doesn't really appeal. I'm generally more into tease (as long as it goes somewhere) and erotica; pictures and movies that are a bit arty and creative, but using creativity to create sexual interest.
Indeed! Two examples spring to mind: * Japanese softcore porn - I find the mosaicing of the pertinent bits annoying; I much prefer the shots where the girl's pussy is hinted at - through something tight, perhaps, or we just see as far as her pubic hair. * A site I'm a member of (it's not TBP-able since they don't have an english version) is non-nude; I like it because the photography is so good and unique, but in some of the sets we get a hint of a bit more - through sheer nylon and the like - and when that happens it's quite exciting, more so than if everything were just on display to start.

This is where http://www.tineye.com comes in handy! Admittedly a long shot, but a quick search of the URL reveals you may find more of her at Voyeur Russian: http://voyeur-russian.com/hangallery-amateur_46479.html Edited on Apr 16, 2012, 11:09am

Hey GPL, FWIW, I've used Entropay before and it seems to work well. It's basically a virtual debit card that you load from your own debit or credit card - you can get a physical card if you need but it's not required, it can be all online. Of course you pay charges but it's not unreasonable - IIRC 5% on loads? I think there are also inactive account fee, so be sure to check that out before signing up/loading funds. You can also choose the currency of the card, which is why I got it - I wanted to join a French site that would only accept cards that natively billed in Euros.
