Yeah you are no doubt right with this statement, they never will or they would of done it years ago (had their own site). I know it won't ever happen but there is companies like Devils and Evil Angel that sell DVDs and still have their sites and Videoz.com must make money, also Sapphic Erotica must too make money, the examples are a bit different I know but there would be money to be made in memberships and still sell better HD quality for the DVDs or Blueray with their movies. Also I noticed Sweatheart Films have a site called Club Sapphic too as well as doing DVDs, Maybe girlfriends Films could do similar but still that said I doubt they need to or they would be doing it and must be making enough out of what they do now as they are still producing every month. I would tend to think though most people who buy DVDs will still buy them even though there is a website, lots of collectors of these films love having the actual DVD and if they were of much higher quality, blueray HD then there would still be the market to do both I would think. I agree its an absolute nightmare is all these names they seem to give them, its mainly the euro girls as lots of American porn actresses seem to just have the one name. Makes it so hard to file your porn collection to remember all a girls alias's I have started to now file with the girls EBI name and the site's name in brackets but I can't be bothered going through my collection again and doing this for all, its one of my huge bug bares about collecting porn is keeping track of all these names they are given. I agree porn can be so addictive and I have been in the past slightly obsessed with getting new stuff instead of appreciating what great stuff I did have, it got to a point were I wasn't even really ever looking at some videos from sites and just storing them all on hard drives never to be viewed and then looking for newer stuff. It all came to a stop and I thought, take a step back here, porn can be great but let's not go over the top with it. I now feel at a much better place and just limit my time devoted to it all. I'm not sure I would disable my account here, I would just not visit for a while which I have done in the past and just pop in when I choose. I'm certainly not a known member here though, I just like to visit now and again and see what's new and read some interesting discussions in the forums. Hi Pat Yeah you very much may be right, it's unreal what some of the girls these days do, Tiffany has a very skinny frame and doing DAPs like they do must take its toll on the skin and sensitive areas. Computers are great when they are working but can be a stressful nightmare when something goes wrong, especially if you haven't done a backup. My PC last week blew up (well turned on and then off again and wouldn't turn on after that, think its the PSU that' gone) Yeah hard drives are a big headache too though they don't seem to last very long these days, maybe they are too big for their boots and can't handle so much data. I had another go out on my a couple of weeks ago which was a backup drive and started taking hours to backup a few lousy files, ran a long disk scan and no faults when there clearly was. Yeah I'd try the Scavenger program as I've heard that is good but I've never used it before or try disk recovery software free in google and see what comes up. Hi again, yeah seems like a mixed bag then, some don't mind, some like and some don't care for them much. I did lots of research for both external and internals and the best 2 I bought on each and have had no problems and both are great. External Samsung Story 1.5TB I think 2.0tb externals sounded unreliable so opted for one of these. I have to say I just really don't see the point in these, you are better with the photos or a separate movie. Thought I'd start a thread after taking Monahan's advice from another thread to basically help any webmaster with some ideas on getting more customers to their site. 1, I love the idea about the 5 free movies for a trial, it creates interest and if you have a price that matches these big sites or slightly under like $20-$25 u will see people subscribing. That's really what this forum should be more about, the punters have a chat with the site's producers and discussing what works and what doesn't and creating sites that people want and stay members or attract more attention for newbies. Most site's webmasters/mistresses should visit regular to answer questions, or employ someone to do so and keep everyone in the loop on things with the site. 100Gb you are lucky mine's 15GB peaktime limited, which is a huge pain, offpeak hours its unlimited though, so whatever downloaded has to be done during work hours. Great article from the OP, very good insight to the physique of an average porn collector. Yeah I'm a hoarder and have stuff I have downloaded from sites that I think oh that looks good, I'll watch it later but never do as I'm always looking for a new site to join to find that new movie. I am at a stage now that I recently sorted and am putting it onto my own website on my desktop to just make it more interesting to look through and have things organised into the things I like the most and my fav models. Its an ongoing project and hope to concentrate on this before joining any new sites and getting more. The only way forward is to make your site a community and a great place to be with quality material and market market market like someone suggested and have your price $20 which most would think is a total good offer and the honest porn buyer will pay and purchase. I can't see a DRM site working cause you just would not get many joining in the first place. They are simple horrible and I really don't get why so many girls these days think that it enhances them, I guess it is to be cool and they have a tough and alternative image tag that goes with them that they think might impress people. Great replies guys , thanks for the great insight to how you keep track and manage your collection, its a great idea having the word, document, never really thought about that. I will defiantly check out the digikam software and ACDsee, both sound good. I know what you mean though about backing up rearadmiral, its so essential when you have spent so much time on the organization of all of it, I'd be gutted if I lost all those movies, all that time wasted. That's what kept me going on with it all, is the thought that I'd spent so many hours doing this, have to complete it or it will be all for nothing. Yeah I only meant sad in the fact that its taken me so long to organize it, some people would think I'm wasting my life away, but to be honest as I guess its the case with lots of people here, collecting porn is like a hobby, just like some people like collecting stamps or baseball cards etc, some people like collecting porn. It is a nightmare keeping track though, especially with the hard drive situation when you fill one and you end up with loads. I got sick of the swapping things about, I currently have them all on the 2TB internal like I said in my first post and its so much better for me to have it all their, obviously some have bigger collection than me and require more space. Next thing I'm going to have to do is get a better monitor to view it all on. I'm still got a 19inch screen and have a 24" on my works computer in the office and that's much better for browsing porn but my collection is on my old machine so have to put up with the small screen. I currently got sick of mine just put away in a messy order on loads of different drives, I decided I wanted it much more organized. Been a huge task and very boring at times but I'm getting there. I now have my stash on a 2TB samsung drive and backed up on a 1.5TB samsung story external. I have my fav models with their own directory and then sub directories, Movies_Lesbian, Movies_Solo and Movies_Straight and then a Photo directory with all the galleries in. All my other stuff if categorized in directories like 5_star_Man_&_Woman, 5_star_solo, 5_star_lesbian with sub categories in them which themes i like. I'm sad I know lol, but I'm really glad I did it, wait i didn't stop there, I still struggled to be satisfied with just viewing them in Windows Explorer folders, I wanted more, so I decided I would create my own website, well obviously not for the web though, just for the desktop. Its based around a fictitious island called Avidity and it has all my fav models and fav celebs with all their galleries and movies listed on their own profile page. Its taking me about a year all in all to do, just doing it in my spare time on a weekend. Finally looking good, still got to create the pages for my movies of non favourite models but I have all the template to do it all now fairly easy. I know web design quite well so its been easy on that front but there has been times when I think why am I doing this, the galleries I view with a slideshow I created. I too find VLC player annoying for fast forward as it takes ages to shift scenes, but I do find it works with some that GOM player doesn't and I also have now got into using Media Player Classic, its great for opening quicktime and realplayer files too and insn't as slick and smooth as gom player but I use all three my fav being gom though as its very good as fast forwarding. I only have just discovered what a great piece of software this is. Yeah I've had it a while and never used it really just dismissed it, but then I saw this youtubr vid on how great it was at working as a replacement to windows explorer, so checked it out and its fantastic for looking at your porn collection, great sized thumbs and slideshows that are awesome, best thing for me is the preview of vids though, just simply click on a file in the browser and it plays the vid. Its certainly good if you looking through loads. Also proberly the best feature is even better than the vid preview is the sorting capabilities, really easy to batch sort things and keyword them so when you look for say 3 girl lesbian scene it will bring them all up regardless of which directory they are in. Just thought I'd share this incase anyone had Bridge and wasn't using it, worth a look at in my eyes. I'm loving it. No I don't work for Adobe either lol. Its new to me but i do like that you can fantasize about actually it you there. I'd like to see a couple of niche sites and would love to have the money to do them myself but heres hoping a rich porn businessman or woman read this and see about making the site , lol yeah I can dream. Nice one, I wish we could get fast broadband connections. i live in a smallish town in england and its still very slow really max I get is 4MB and average speeds would say 350kb sometime it goes down to 60kb though which is far too slow. My rig up is 4 year old pc, not bad spec though, runs fairly fast 3MB memory dual core Athlon 3800+ processor. Nvidea Geforce 7600 GT Graphics card and Creative Audigy soundcard. 24" Benq monitor which I love for the videos. I store on fav vids are backed up to 150 external then vids are on extra from my normal hard disk cause thats only a 250GB samsung barracuda sata 750GB internal and 750gb western digital external. Ones for my fav girls the internal drive and the other is for other movies really, leaves me plenty of space to build which I like. It looks like it has huge potential I agree. However they need a update on the whole website to get it more in order and better longer previews for the vids, I'll wait till it gets that sorted then probs join, like talking too in movies.
