I almost always do single month subscriptions. I think I forgot to cancel a recurring membership once so I had two months in a row.

1) The newbie models that look like a deer in the headlights during their scenes. They can have angelic beauty but if they look as if they are about to be raped it sort of kills the mood.

Location: Boston, MA 		1. I'll go with C with a "but". I think the overview page would be redundant. If you have a video and photoset that go together then the two tabs will work. Maybe you can default to one tab or the other depending how the user navigates to the page?

Since I am more a video guy I'll leave the photo questions to others. (Though I will say using thumbnails of some size is better than having the full size image right on the page.)

Location: Boston, MA 		I've simplified my porn collection maintenance recently. I currently keep all the video files in a directory structure broken down by the site I downloaded from. If a file does not already have the model(s) names as part of the file name I'll rename the file after I download it so I can do a quick search on model name.

I used to use the Windows Media Player library to add all sorts of meta data to each file so I could search and sort. I found after awhile it was a pain to add the data and I rarely used it accept to sort on certain models or sites -- which is already handled by the physical files so I stopped maintaining the meta data. I often use VLC to generate a random playlist from my entire collection which makes the meta data even more useless.

Instead of debating what I think it does mean I will simply describe what I'd like it to mean. Here goes:

Because of the adjective, "mother" I think it should be handled similar to other theme based porn where you build a little fantasy around it. Maybe the woman could be dressed like a housewife at the house or in the grocery store. Maybe she seduces the pool boy or is more the conservative type that gets pursued by the next door neighbor -- you get the picture.

We can be liberal with age but the key is you need to buy that she is a "mother" and you should have the desire to "fuck" her. I'd say going into the teens doesn't really fit the mold as a realistic mother figure so after that maybe mid 20's to late 30's have the majority of like-to-fuck women.

With more mature sites I'll probably go through all the content but keep less as the quality goes down with age. This is typically at the three year point -- though I recently re-joined Sapphic Erotica and it's amazing how good their video quality is all the way back to '05.

The teeny-bopper sites are good because the girls are usually natural looking. When I look at sites with older models they are typically pumped up with plastic. Why? Sure, I get they are combating age in what is a brutal business but women a little older can be beautiful in their own way.

Several months ago when I started hearing rumblings about it being a movement for middle-of-the-road people being fed up with the way government was running & fiscal responsibility I was interested to see where the grass roots movement was heading. I even thought it could be a good thing if it lead to some sane, intelligent politicians breaking from party lines and working for what the majority of people want.

Well, that didn't happen! LOL. In it's current state it has out-crazied the idiots in the GOP. It's turned into a way for Republicans to reinvent themselves and really let their freak flags fly. It's a shame because in the pre-Bush era there used to be reasonable candidates in both parties.

Location: Boston, MA 		I agree with those who say file size is a factor. Files can get too large at any resolution. I think 0.9-1.2 GB is fine for a decent HD clip. Any larger and it becomes cumbersome.

Monahan, Do you have a modern HD monitor? If you don't then older video probably will look fine. On HD monitors a lot of the imperfections in those low res videos are revealed and make the picture look grainy.

Do you consider video quality before joining a site?

I wanted to free up some disk space so I recently went through my porn collection to prune out video clips I rarely watched or was bored with. I sort my collection into folders by the site I downloaded them from. I found I have become intolerant of video of a certain quality and ended up deleting whole folders based on video quality.

Going forward, I think 640/720 x 480 at 2000k bit rate will be the bottom end threshold in video quality for me when I subscribe to a site. All sites will have older content of course but the new stuff will have to make the cut-off.

Thanks for the historical perspective Khan. I can see how amateur made sense in that context. If you don't have a laptop or computer you want to lug around have you considered some of those online boxes they have available these days? I haven't tried one but I think the new Google TV has full access to the Internet.

Has the term, "Amateur" been over used by the porn industry?

It's obvious to me that since this word first became a buzz word in porn the definition has been stretched. Sure, maybe there were some college kids who posted sex clips for free back before anyone realized they could make insane money from it but I'm not buying that these various "amateur" sites are finding a continual flow of freely offered sex videos and photos.

I guess they could be selling it as a genre -- like cheerleaders. Sure, they aren't authentic cheerleaders but it's all in the fantasy. The problem with this concept is what does an amateur girl look like or act like? There's plenty of money in gonzo and natural is in style so it's not like the models stand out from any other pay site.

On porn models they are a distraction. Even if it's the best tattoo on the planet it's still marring the body I'm attempting to look at and appreciate.

Location: Boston, MA 		It's been a while so I don't recall the exact problems I had but when I bought my last laptop computer with Windows 7 about 4-5 months back I had to do a bunch of updates and reboots to fix several problems. Make sure you have all the latest patches and version updates from Microsoft.

I agree with you there are trends in porn and they don't always go the way we want them to. I will say though that I enjoy natural looking girls in hardcore and don't have much trouble at all in finding them. Right now I'm a member of Teen Mega World and they have hundreds of videos with beautiful models. You can also take a look at Young Legal Porn, Only Cuties or Little Mutt. To be honest, even Reality Kings seems to be going in that direction these days.

Location: Boston, MA 		My collection is on a 500GB hard drive. I mainly keep videos, sorted into folders named after the Web site I downloaded them from. For sites I currently have a subscriptions for I download the files into a "new" folder so I can sort them later.

I use the Windows Media Player Library to add metadata to my downloaded files to sort/filter. One thing I do need to do is learn how to backup that metadata otherwise all that labeling is out the window if the file gets corrupted.

The metadata I keep is: Site name, actor (though fairly useless these days), category (hardcore, solo, blowjob, etc.), race (including white/Euro & white/American), hair color, rating (1-5 stars) and a free form field I use for keywords.
