Just got my new WD 3TB from the postman (of course bought the cheapest place, I could find on the net).

The unpacking was more troublesome than the connecting to my pc - plug in and everything just works...it's only a 2,0 USB and not 3,0 - but I can live with the time it takes to copy the files.
But, one thing: It's almost like buying packs of cornflakes, chips ect. at the supermarket - it's no filled up - like this and many other alike you do not get a clean 3TB....here it's:

That was my thought too.
But just jumped into it and bought my 6. external to - among others - to relieve/copy two rather old ones. Found a cheap WD 3TB..
And like turboshaft a.o. I've always tried to make two copies of the most important material, personal and stash.

"I just got a new VCR and it does 29.000 things, I'll never understand" (that's how I feel).

...and bottom line:
a new "bad ass" external.....2 or 3TB.
Read some reviews that give Freecom very fine scores - got a 2TB Freecom, but it's very new, so I can never be sure.
Anybody on Freecom? Any recommendations or warnings?

And BTW:
Am I paranoid? - in fear of loosing my top favorite stash (generally vids in larger files), I've made duplicates at other drives.....so at this point I've got that particular stash twice..... "I don't drink anymore - I freeze it, and eat it like a popcicle"

With the massive amount of stash most PU's collect, we need more s p a c e.
Both for the amount and the larger and larger files, we download. So thinking hard about locating a 3TB external, stationary.
What is there to recommend?

It bothers me (too), that our honorable fellow PU, lk2fireone wrote this in an earlier thread:

"The only thing that bothers me is that the reviews for the latest Seagate and Western Digital drives are so poor, I wonder how long my new drive will last. I bought the 3 TB Seagate for $135 on ebay."

Because, it's really a nightmare if one of your drives dies...: One of my five is an Iomega 1TB that has started making funny "clicking" noises.....If I loose that stash. arrgh...well, you know.

When fed up with less and less fine material (to my liking) - I spend glorious hours going through my tons of both older and newer material. I'll find scenes and especially model-names, mostly teens from start 2000-.....and all models from the 1980/1990th - and also later.
And the hunt first starts at Google and model-names. It'll get me a lot of free previews and a lot of crap - but it's just my way to find locations of/on paysites....and of course a small amount of ok free material, mostly in poor/average quality, but still...
The next step is usually going back to sites, I've been before and where I got fine material earlier....but at those more major sites, there'll usually be older material, I skipped or missed the first times around. I've done that quite a few times with:

MetArt
MetModels
ect...

...and yes, going back again and again.

But now and then some material comes up..and you say: Wow, this is great, this is new.
Ok, know your're mostly into mature, right? Love it, too. But also going back to old, old teen material like they used to have at Teendreams ect.

Tried the Quick Media Converter.... but could not open the set up file from Toadsiths link..?

Downloaded the free Any Video Converter...and it works fine - except:
When converting any file, the output file is smaller both in resolution and much i frame?

We had this thread recently about watching porn on tv - but guess you can also watch a lot of other stuff from the net (your pc) on tv, so:
Close to buying a new tv which can use USB keys to show your movie and pix, but apparently only in .mkw and .wmv format (and .jpg for pix).
So looking for a good and reliable (and fast) software to convert .mov, .avi and ofter video files into .wmv.
The "free software" out there looks like a hoax - and the payed for ditto seems like a jungle...

Any suggestions??

Lately I've got quite a few total Windows freeze - when starting to download with IDM (only):

Total freeze - nothing else to do, but to cut the power/restart.
Been using IDM for many years...and this has occured a few, very few times - in the past. But now it's a couple of times a week. Been downloading their updates/upgrades and using Driver Max to keep my drivers top.

Look around on the vast net, the free part that you used to go for....probably not that good...still, when the hunt for the goodies does not pay off, it's the second best.

Location: Denmark 		Mostly via comments here.....But have had some mail-discussions over the years with a few - mostly about what I'd think they could do better - an twice an offer of an other month or more for free "so we can discuss if we do things better" ect. (did not do another review on that basis, btw, no way, jos�
And once a rather hostile contact from a site owner who went nuts - of course because of a negative review, that ended in cutting me off the site...(but with "a little help from my friends" (Kahn) - I got a refund)...and never went near that site again...
But, rearadmiral: To threaten with legal action for a comment...? Weird....og like we said in the early 70th:
