When it comes to naming photos, their folders, and video files, your types of name always seem to fall out to two types. I always put the model name first so their files sort together. Then SPACE DASH SPACE followed by the project's title
This is how I would rename things from your site:
MODEL'S NAME ONLY, NO TITLE
(I repeat the model's name as the title):
mary_mary.zip unzips to "Mary - Mary" folder title
mary_mary.023HR.jpg
mary_mary.wmv (Names like this are easy to change with a bulk renamer)
MODEL'S NAME ONLY, WiTH TITLE:
mary_fun_times.zip unzips to "Mary - Fun Times" folder title
mary_fun_times.023HR.jpg
mary_fun_times.wmv

I do use a bulk renaming app (A Better Finder Rename) all the time. But with all the other research and renaming that has to be done to WAP's files and folders after downloads, renaming the image files themselves is just one more nail in the coffin. The vido files are so inconsistently named that bulk renaming doesn't really work: it has to be done manually.
THE FILES AND FOLDERS SHOULD BE NAMED PROPERLY FROM THE SITE.
As to VLC: I stopped using it a few years ago. If I remember correctly, it was because it kept losing prefs across updates. Again, if I remember, I had to enter custom prefs to get arrow-keys to serve for video FF/REW/SKIP functions; it was a lot of work and after VLC trashed that work I stopped bothering to use it. Again: this was years ago and I may not be remembering correctly.
The wmv files have 1440 horiz. resolution: better than HD video, and enough for me. They also save a bit of drive space, which accumulates.

I appreciate your chiming in here so soon. I know you are very closely involved in your site and try to be very responsive. I found the site to have cookie disarming in that the URLs that Wearehairy came up with were like: "www.zwffkdn.members.wearehairy.com (and so forth)", with that nonsense string changing. Every time I logged into a different virtual host because of that nonsense string, the cookies from my last visit didn't work: all the links in a model's page looked as if I'd never been there. I developed the habit of making sure I was at a www.members.wearehairy.com URL all the time to work around that. I appreciate the offer of help with the download manager but my month is just about up and it won't be of help now.

My comment really had to do with the policy of slowing the site for everyone because 'someone' does something which displeases the owners.
That's patently absurd.
FWIW I really like what I've seen from LittleMutt. But I ain't joinin'.
